Personally I would like to see the stripe on the door, as its a tiny subtle nod to its original Sydney days, it gives it a little bit more character and personalisation and heck its never going to be 100% original with some of the small mods you've done. But it's your bus, if you don't want to make the extra work for yourself then that's fine

Amazing progress Steve. To stripe or not to stripe, that is the question! The purist in me says don't, yet the aesthetist in me says yes - go figure! The rear lights and badges have always been a pain on rear engined buses with the engine bustle, though some Atlanteans and Fleetlines had hinged corners that would swing out so you could change lih=ghts etc. Yours has the side panels between top and bottom deck that stops you from doing it. Great workaround with the badge! Can't wait for the next video!!!
@@69Phuket as Steve has said, some UK models did, but as his has the cowels (and some London Transport DMS had them too) this stopped them opening, making it bloody fiddly!
At least on the AN68 the side pods hinge open. I had to re wire all the back lights on a Roe bodied Olympian for a friend. That bus was a heap but it would do well over 150 k, thanks to a 245 Turbo TL11 and high speed back axle.

Leave the stripes off. As an example Deanes Coaches had Leyland Nationals similar to Action with yellow fire orange below the windows and white upper with blue band under the windows. Action painted the entire doors orange with the blue band continuing whereas Deanes left the doors white and they looked fine to me. Why make more work for yourself?

Thought them back bustles swang out for servicing, but the cowels might prevent that.
on some UK vehicles they do, but not these ones
I remember a fitter trying to swing a rear bustle open after I'd overheated. Swung open and promptly fell on the road, ended up going back on a hook.
