Great video of snowblowing with the Kubota L6060. I live just east of Toronto, Ontario and would like to get some good snow fall. It just doesn't happen very often. The rear scraper is good to have towards the end of the winter season. It helps scrape up the packed snow and greatly reduces mud when the snow all melts from the gravel driveway. As for the music, the raw audio with just the machine and blower running is the best music one can have.
Thank you for the fantastic footage, It's great to see a front snowblower mount. I know they say the rear Pole.Or drag snowblowers are more efficient. But it's didn't see where it's much better. Front mount is the way to go in my personal opinion. great video!
Hey Thank you! Yes we agree. For small residential driveways I can see the inverted are faster and easier. However Dad does long driveways in the country and often banks are high and you’d never be able to drive through the snow to get it to the rear blower.
Thanks Mitala. Yes a lot of footage was recorded and edited! I put on a lot of K walking those few days recording. It was fun! Thanks for the comment. I was thinking a drone would be fun to record with.
Really nice video with amazing scenery! Such a good thing to work with front mount snowblower. With the 60HP L6060 you should really give a try with the Pronovost P-82126, it's almost the same size as the P-720-80 but with much more performance, sealed chain case and a 3 flaps chute. Thanks for the time you invested in this video!
Hey thank you! Just catching this comment now. Yes that sound’s like a good option. The p720-80 works so well we see no reason to change. If we had to I’d for sure look into that model.
Thanks for the comment Mark. Yes we are really happy with it. Compared to other blowers we have had this one seems very efficient. Thumbs up to Pronovost for the great design.
One of the best snowblowing videos I’ve seen, too many videos that are shot entirely from the operators pov and dumb sound track. It does seem in videos that I’ve seen with the 6060, with the kubota commercial blower mounted that the Kubota blower throws it further than with other blowers but there’s a lot of factors that could play into that and that pronovost is doing just fine. I have a 2650 with the 2782b that I have a love hate relationship with and have been seriously thinking about upgrading to a Grand L or figuring out a way to mount the new 64” commercial blower with the one piece auger and much larger fan that’s available for the LX that seems to handle the wetter stuff a lot better than the 2782b. Being the LX and 2650 are basically the same tractor it should be possible.
Hey Thank you! Yes we had a 2650 prior and it was excellent. We had a kubota rear blower which worked amazing. We then thought we would get a front blower and ended up getting the 2782B. In our case it sucked and I was always frustrated with it getting clogged and never threw snow far one way. I forget what way that was. This thing has been an absolute treat. If I was doing just my own driveway and a few others a rear blower is still my favourite so you can leave the loader on. However spending a lot of time behind the wheel the front is the way to go we think. Many tried to sell us on an inverted but when you have a 5 foot bank of snow how are you supposed to drive though that to get to blowing from the back? Lol
@@Schneids15 I never got the inverted blower either, you're driving over and tamping down what you're trying to get rid of and a regular rear mount wasn't something that appealed to men either with a 400' long driveway and a sore neck from looking backward the whole time. I think the biggest problem with the 64" 2782b in regards to the 2650 is it's just too much blower for the machine when dealing with wet stuff and the much smaller 2nd stage area with the smaller fan compounds the problem.
Yes just pointing out that the rear never appealed to us either. I have to say that i really don’t think the 2782B is too much blower at all. I think with the centre gearbox and the serrated teeth on the auger cause all the issues. If you look at the commercial blower like you said for the newer models, it is built like our old rear blower and guy’s throw snow and have no issues with them.
Sweet set-up. I need to up my B2650. Like the front blower. How well do those studs work on steep inclines (12-deg). I use aggressive chains with loaded rear tires now.
Usually up high going into drives like this. I actually made up some 4”x 16” feet welded to factory feet for flotation. So many times the ground is not frozen and the blower would want to dig down.
Yeah i can try. Not really sure how I’d get a pic. The company that makes the set up is called Rivard welding or something along those lines out of quebec
I've got an L6060 with the same blower, but rear facing. My neck and back can't take the constant twisting. Would love to go forwards. What is needed (model #) for the front PTO. I don't think they come with a mid-PTO. I see you have 2 front SCVs. Is there a separate toggle switch for the chute rotation and chute angle? Do you require counter weight (filled tires)? Thanks
Hey James, so we bought it this way, the Mid pto i believe is bought through Kubota. It bolts to the bottom of the trans case and there is a yellow lever to activate it in the cab. The mount is made by a place in Quebec called “Rivard” i have not found much info on them but did find their website. The front hydraulic lines the up and down is controlled from the up down on the joystick. The rotate is controlled side to side (normally loader tilt) There is a 3rd function valve installed on the tractor that controls the chute angle. However you could bot install one and use an electric DC ram.
@James: Depending on how much work (depth of Snow) have you considered an inverted blower. There are a lot of l6060’s set up with 80” Pronovost cyclones. They are beasts. Looking at the snowfalls in this video an inverted would have worked pretty well as well.
@315-snoblow for sure we have. Those Cyclones are a beast. We considered it for a long time, with 100% of our driveways being gravel and a lot of them very long driveways/ private roads we really like having the blower up front. It is easy to see when the ground is soft if we are grabbing gravel and can lift up. With it all being in front still. I think if i was doing removal in cities with nice paved driveways and backing close to garages and driving in and out quick the inverted would be no question at all. With all that being said i’d love to sit behind the seat and try an inverted sometime and it may suit just as well😃
@@Schneids15 thanks for the reply back. I forgot to write i was sending that last message more in reply to James. Considering he didn’t have the front mount PTO and such in place. It might be easier (a lot) to go inverted. You guys were doing good work there. As too all gravel driveways. I think you could actually do better with the inverted because you can adjust the angle of attack on the blower to always be the same. When doing gravel and asphalt driveways they are different. If you’re ever in the area look me up. I’d be happy to let you see them up close.
@@315-snoblow I'm just not convinced of the scrape quality of the hybrids. In my area, I have high volume (dense), high value homes, not a lot of snow, but also super high expectations. Almost all have interlock or some type of concrete, so a plastic cutting edge is necessary. All signs point to a poor scrape with plastic. I can't salt them afterwards because they've been educated to think salt is the devil to their new $20000 driveway. Driving over wet snow will pack it down, and no blower will scrape that up, leaving the blower to ride on the tracks leaving 1/2 to 3/4 inch of snow. Super snowy regions that may suffice but it doesn't here. I love the videos of the PXPL, seriously think of going that route but I think its really $$.
I have the Kubota B2650 cab tractor with the snowblower. I was told that mid PTO doesn’t have the same amount of torque as the rear PTO I wondered if that’s was true.
We used to have a 2650 before this. Keep that tractor they are great!! Yes mid pto runs at twice the speed. Rear pto is 540 and mid is 1000 give or take. So not as much torque and drivetrain loss. However I would not worry about it. Run it and enjoy it will work great.
BEST FOOTAGE EVER!!!! NO MUSIC, JUST PURE DIESEL NOISE AND PERFECT SHOTS
Hey thanks so much! Appreciate it!
Agree with you 100% tired of shitty soundtracks.

Hey thank you. Was a fun day out taking videos. Got my exercise for sure.
EXCELLENT PIECES OF EQUIPMENT I'M GONNA BUY A SET UP MYSELF, THANKS

That blower feeds so nice with the design. The depth compared to others probably helps from flowing around instead of feeding in.

@Schneids15 what is the horsepower of the tractor? When looking at snowblowers definitely have to keep that in mind on size to get.

Studs are good but still can’t beat chains on extremely steep surfaces.
How high do you set your blade? Seems like it does a really good job not picking up debris.

Why is the operator wearing hearing protection if the tractor is so quiet?
He was born with a bad ear and has had issues with hearing his whole life. He does everything he can to protect what is left of his mediocre hearing.
That was a hell of a dump of snow, the tractor made short work of it.
Yes and another 6” last night. Thankfully all fluffy stuff. Usually it is wet and thick. The new tractor really works well.
What country?
