There is nuthing more relaxing than sitting here in the warm cozy house with my glass on before supper wine, and watching Sandy work. THANKS MAN AND BE SAFE.
The many years that I had to work on the snow removal, watching this video Sandy, I feel your pain. I do not miss the hours of the back and forth. We plowed for some of the local schools and large parking lots and sometimes we had to plow our way just to get to jobs that we had contracts on. My hat is off to you Sandy. 38 degrees here this morning in sunny warm Ocala Florida.
Good morning Sandy when i was up in province of Quebec i hated to break trails more snow you got less the grounds are frozen but a lots of people to understand is the snow is like a blanket it will stop the ground from freezing it is natures way of protecting plants and also little animals but you guys got a heck of a snow fall in a short time that is the worse kind because the ground were not frozen yet your doing good a little at time it after a few days your are back to some what decent area but you step of the trail and up to the waist with snow well good luck with things and keep on going it is the only thing to do have a great day
@@sawingwithsandy How do you have to guess? You can ear the engine bog down, and you can see you are pushing more than the augers can feed. Is this your first time?
Dude! You got hammered! (With snow that is) I welded up some two foot long skid shoes when i had my front mount blower on my tractor.....they stayed on until the ground froze so i didnt blow all my gravel off my driveway!! Stay warm and have a Merry Christmas bro!!
Well, it looks like you got all of the snow that we didn't. At my place, we were expecting a winter storm, but it fizzled out. Ended up with two inches. And rain forecast for next weekend! The ground here isn't frozen yet either, so I'm stuck staying on my trails. I've got a lot of trees to harvest but can't get to them until the ground is frozen. Right now, I'm just cleaning up the things that I can get at without making more of a mess with the tractor. If we could just get a little more snow, I could drop some trees and get them out of the woods a little later on. But right now, they would end up muddy and that doesn't set well with my sawmill. We can only do what we can. I'm thankful for having the property. Retired life in the woods is great. Sometimes unpredictable, but great. We're not beat until we give up. Keep at it, my friend. With the right attitude, all days can be good days.
In our area we use rear mounted tow behind snowblowers that work driving forward. I think they call the inverted blowers. As long as you can drive through the snow going forward they work really well. If you put a blade on the front and keep it raised a couple of feet you can handle deep snow as well. Cheaper than another machine and you keep the fron usable.
I wish we could get some of that snow, here in lower ny we don't get any good winters anymore, not like when I was a kid. We got to go up to our camp in maine for the kids to enjoy snow
That is some deep stuff right there. A front mount or a pull type three point snow blower would be awesome to eliminate having to back up the entire way. Nice work.
Met you at Paul Bunyan. I'm the guy from Missouri who married a Canadian from New Brunswick. If I were you, I'd be hanging up a "for sale" sign out by the road and shopping for real estate farther south. LOL At numerous points in the video, it may as well have been black & white because the only color was your coveralls and face. Sorry, but I just can't take that weather. Lived in Maine for 5 yrs, but was glad to get back to Missouri. Stay safe, friend.

At a camp job in Kitimat BC about 10 years ago we got 8.5 ft in about a day and a half. Literally shut everything down. Spent a day shovelling snow off roofs. Then went to the camp parking lot to realize the compacted snow we were walking on was above most car roofs.

Know the feeling Sandy, got 3 and a half feet couple weeks ago and probably foot or so since then, then mild then rain, blower on my kioti has moved more mud than snow, can't use the plow... minus 25 c this evening though so finally get the ground frozen and be able to clean up so much easier....winters in southern georgian bay last few years have been freeze thaw , freeze thaw , mud, ice ,on and on....know your frustration.....get cold stay cold and life would be good.
