Just about the best tractor porn a guy could ask for. You looked like you were cozy inside that cab. I've had a B7800 for 16 years and as I'm closing in on 60 years old, I'm convincing myself that I need to get a cab on my tractor. Another problem I've found is those tire chains I bought with the tractor seem to have gotten much heavier now then they were back then. Even though I may complain to my wife about going out and clearing our little slice of heaven, there is still a kid in me that is smiling from ear to ear every time I get on that Kubota.
I enjoy watching your videos and I compliment you on having the correct equipment to manage your property. I have a Kubota BX2680 that I bought used and it came with the front loader and a quick attach manual angle snow blade. I plow out 5 families near me and I enjoy the heck out of it most of the time. I do not have a cab so extreme cold can be a challenge but if I get too cold I go in my house to warm up for a while. I am in the process of converting the manual angle snow blade to hydraulic but I am not using Kubota components due to their excessive cost so I am using a dual action hydraulic dump trailer pump and it cost me 20% of what Kubota parts would cost. Keep up your great videos as I really appreciate them.
It's a healthy way of living. Outdoors in the fresh air is good for the mind body and soul. Then after the outdoor activity, you throw another log onto the fireplace fire, sit back in an easy chair, and enjoy a relaxing evening as the weather does its thing.
some people don't know how much fun and enjoyment you get from being out in the country and playing with your tractor and all the fresh air. take care and will see you again.
GP you made me feel sooooo much better. I have property in the U.P. that's a twin of yours and I have thought that I'm to old and slow because snow and downed trees I'm in it two to three days to see your adventures tell me I'm not alone and not to far off the time it takes. Thank you for your honesty and take on wooded lake property. Do me a favor watch that ticker of yours while doing that strenuous of work. We're not 30 anymore. Cheers my friend
We live on a private road which is not plowed by the town so I am the plow guy! I always make sure the road is opened as soon as possible because my neighbors wife has cancer and has needed to be taken by rescue several times to the hospital. So like you Gord, keeping it cleared in case of an emergency is paramount.
That is so very kind of you CR! I am sure they appreciate you alot. So important as you just never know when something may happen. Cheers and all the best to you!
Yup that is me to I plow out the cul da sac I live in as permanent residences I also fix snowblowers and other small engine equipment in neighborhood and when it snow the heavy stuff I get busy with repairs (broken belts, augers so on)
Some people would say I'm crazy, but despite having to do my own snow clearing from this storm, I sat here watching this series with envy. You lucky guy you!!!
Love it!! I didn't think you were being negative at all. Just showing some people what they may deal with in the forest. Personally, I would take that over living in any town or city. I live for snow and using my snow-thro around our house. Once I finish at the house I go to my farm and use my 70+ year old tractor and push snow around to clear out. It's the most fun I have all year. I've been retired for 4 years now and it's still fun! 👍👍👍
Hi Gord , love your stuff it’s real!! Life in the country is not easy but one knight in timber on a full moon with snow cover and ice on trees wow!! Have to love it!!
Enjoying, well kinda, the same sloppy weather here in eastern Ontario. Love being out on the ATV or tractor dealing with the snow. I’ll tell you though, get some snowshoes. Got a pair about 7 years ago, and they are a real energy saver. Guys our age, despite being active outdoors, can get surprised by the effort required to walk through a foot or more of snow. Snowshoeing is great exercise without being hard on the ole ticker. Do yourself and your family a favor and get a pair, and keep enjoying the outdoors!
Hey good morning and thanks. May folks suggested it too. I just had my physical and my Doctor told me the same - he has a pair to get into his place and he also recommended them. I think I'll put it on my want list. Thanks again - Let's hope we get back to snow soon. Cheers!
That last big bunch of trees was quite a mess. Definitely got your exercise. Our snow is gone and while the temperature is finally dropping back to normal fort his time of year, there is no major snow in the forecast. Clearing snow is something I really enjoy doing, and it gets me my seat time in the winter. Thanks for sharing. For now I've been getting my snow fix by watching your 3 part series as well as other UA-camrs who are actually getting snow.
Hi GP, first time commenting on one of your videos. I'm in NS with a L4060 with front mount blower and have been waiting for snow for a year. Haven't seen anything more than a few inches where I am so like Don in the comment below I'm watching your video with envy. Also, just wanted to say thanks for your videos. They were helpful in my decision to purchase a tractor and implements and continue to be a good resource for operation tips and general maintenance advice. So thanks and keep them coming!
Just started watching your channel, is relaxing to me to watch you clearing all that driveway, wish it was me doing it, i am going to go back and watch all your videos from the beginning so i could catch up, thank you for showing me part of your life in the woods.
The juice is worth the squeeze is one of the best quotes I have heard in a long time. Hard work, perseverance and love of life is so important. Please keep doing what you do, love your channel. God bless you my friend, I wish I had the time time to enjoy what you are experiencing.
I’m with you. I enjoy that kind of stuff GP. Wish I was there to give you a hand ,,,I would have loved it also. I do carry snow shoes when traveling in the winter. In truck a must is water, chainsaw, shovel and extra gloves. Great video I enjoyed watching the series and would have enjoyed it more if I was there to help. Stay safe GP. 👍✊
GP, I love you attitude! Adventures for sure. You missed another reason why you need to keep the road plowed. There will be more snow storms and if you do not get rid of the snow now, it will only build up making it impossible to clean up. Yes, video was enjoyable! I too keep my driveway clean from snow nd ice. My biggest concern is a fire truck or ambulance getting to my house. I keep all three entrance/exists to my house free from snow and ice in case we need ot get out of the house very quickly. Be safe!
I spray my Schulte blower with diesel to keep it from rusting and adds lubricant to keep if from plugging in wet snow. I also spray it during the summer. I bought my blower in 2017 and it looks brand new.
Sure glad you got that driveway under control Gord, I was getting ready to put chains on my recliner and help any way I could. What a great 3 part video Gord, thanks so much for taking us along. I also have a problem with those spruce and balsam snapping or falling on the trails during winds or heavy snow. Take care and stay safe.
Very nice place, it's perfect for people who don't like to sit around doing nothing all day. This reminds me of the lyrics of the song (Breathe) by Pink Floyd: "Run, rabbit run - Dig that hole, forget the sun, And when at last the work is done - Don't sit down it's time to dig another one".
Gord, what a great piece of property you have! I'm 100% like you; I would really enjoy having to dig myself back into a mile long driveway, or as you did get to the house and dig back out. It's very exhilarating and good for the body to get the exercise and fresh air like you say. We certainly don't get anything close to snow amounts here at my residence, as you do in Canada, but I still remember the 'triple winter snow storms' that hit here years ago - biggest snow in my lifetime that I've experienced and loved it! I purposely let all the storms finish and pile up the snow, so I could use my Kubota BX and blower to clear the 1/3 mile common drive. Snow was near 2' with drifts 3' or more. It was the first and only time I had to take two passes - one with blower raised, then another with it floating. Soon I hope to have my LX-2610 - outfitted just like yours; I just couldn't help myself. You've been quite an inspiration. Once I get the LX, I guess I'll have to find a property more north. I really enjoy getting out there moving that heavy snow; sure beats a shovel. One main reason I upgraded to the LX (and yes with cab) is my age and ability to handle the cold. I can't stay out like I used to years ago. Live life to the fullest (or at least as 'fullest' that one can) 😉
Hi GP, Thank You for sharing your adventure. I'm like you, enjoying the challenge! I have the same issue when I get up to my Northern Wisconsin cottage. The only thing that I'm not really crazy about is at the cottage i have an open station tractor, unlike the larger cab tractor I have at home in Northern Illinois. I think temps are colder in Northern Wisconsin than where you are! I have trouble with keeping my hands warm. But I still enjoy it!
Glad to see you made it through opening up your driveway. Looks like a tractor with a snow blower and chains is a must have on your property. Thanks for the video Michael ☺️☺️
Just learned an expensive lesson. Don't bend the Fan/Impeller on the LX2980. List for a new one is $628.58. Hit a large rock buried in the snow. Looks like the fan bent before the shear pin broke. Bent enough that it is bound up on the housing. A neighbor is doing some bending and grinding on the old one for me so I can still use it, but I am still going to buy a new one for backup. I have the same LX2610 tractor and LX2980 that GP has. I found this channel doing research while doing the same upgrade GP did, from an open station rear PTO B20 to a front mounted blower with a cab. 20 years of blowing snow with all kinds of nasty weather was enough.
Morning Louis and sorry to ear about that - geez - that hurts $$. I use grade 2 shear bolts on the blower now. Thanks for sharing the info and the costs. Best of luck for the rest of the season!
There's a few reasons I dislike front mounted blowers They don't throw snow very far and the biggest reason for when you get stuck , and that you will , almost guaranteed ! I have a bigger model of Kubota a Grand L (3560 with( cab )with a rear mounted snowblower with hydraulic rotator and chute deflector . I Love keeping the loader on the tractor as it comes in handy in so many ways . Lifting, pushing piling or even to get yourself unstuck. I know many people don't like a rear mounted snowblower due to always looking backwards. On my model of tractor I can swivel the seat to help relieve that somewhat. When I first bought my tractor I bought it with a backhoe as well. Getting stuck in snow was never an issue . One way or another you can maneuver yourself around or move snow around to get out of very nasty circumstances. I wonder how I know that ? Never the less Kubota makes some very nice stuff !
Hello Gord. Please turn Closed Caption on so us with hearing disabilities can follow along with what is said. I love your channel, but don't usually watch videos that lack CC. So frustrating being deaf. Always, always wear hearing protection!!
Hey good evening Doug. It is on - I always put it on however sometimes it takes hours for it to translate and sometimes I have seen it takes days on long videos like this. Sorry i wasnt able to use my good external audio on these last videos and so very sorry for the difficulty. Hopefully it will be working soon for you Cheers and thanks! 2:40
Really enjoyed watching the adventure, GP! Couldn’t help thinking of all you had to do PLUS you filmed it to boot! Thanks! Happy new ear to you, Carol and the girls.
I get exactly what you were saying at the end. Probably most people shoot for less work as they get older, etc. But there is something about the adventure and work, combined, etc. that makes it that much more fun and I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus, like you said, it is healthy to keep moving. I'm in Michigan, we got about 16" of snow with that blast.
GP, made it back from Florida, Wife says she loves the snow! Missed the high wind storm that came through here, in PA. but got a few tops that needed cleaned up on the driveway. Dealing with rain for the moment, winter ain't here yet but I'm sure it's coming. Just hope when it does,... stays frozen and just one thaw . (Probably not!!!) Lol
Good video! I live in an area somewhat like you my driveway is 1/4 mile long and all snow removal is on me. I have a 32 HP Yahnmar with a cab and I have a 60" rear mount blower and I have lived in this location 21 years now and there have been only 2 times I was wishing for more HP and one of them was a couple months ago and it was because of wet snow, really heavy wet snow! Normally my setup will throw snow 50 to 60 feet no problem when the snow was like it was I am lucky to get 20 ft of discharge, and that was at a higher than normal RPM setting! If the snow is wet my blower will have the same problem as you were having with the snow building up inside the blower on the auger and on the sides it will get to the point where your blower is half plugged all the time. What I learned over the years is I use PAM non stick cooking spray and will spray the inside of the blower on just about everything and will also do the inside of the bucket on the loader and it all but eliminates the snow sticking and building up, its a cheap way to cure this irritation! Keep up the good work. Last week we had 66 mph winds one night and I had 5 ft drifts all over the place where I had to knock them down with the loader before I could blow them. My driveway was like that for about 40 yards but I could lift the blower high enough to clear it with 2 passes I was in the tractor for 7 hours that day. Today it was snowing and windy 30 mph all day and things are supposed to be much worse tomorrow, I see another LONG session in the tractor!
Glad to see you made it without any trouble Gord. Was it worth it? You betcha it is!! As long as the body allows that you can still find pleasure then keep doing it. Stay safe up there and keep having fun around there. Looking forward to a great year with you all. Fred.
LOL! You bet Fred! I enjoyed the exercise and time out there - of course, it would have been a lot more fun with Huskie Bob and Guy -:)) Have a nice weekend!
Great series that turned into. Those look like great chains. If you are anything like me and my grandfather in ten to fifteen years, you start cutting back some of the "most likely to be an issue" trees and get the next level up in capability in equipment. Anyway great video as always. Glad to see you enjoying yourself. Take care.
Gord, I soak my padlocks in Auto antifreeze to help with the icing you are experiencing. Works great on the construction trailer we used for tool storage for 20 years. I have not tried RV antifreeze but may be better for the critters. Just soak the locks in a small jar overnight or till you leave and reinstall. Not 100 percent but works 80 percent or better
Gord that looks like something I would enjoy too. When you're not on the clock and it takes as long as it takes it's not that bad to do. The guy I work with in the summer plows snow for a friend of mine in Sebright, east of Orillia. They got 5 feet over 3 days. The second day he was there 2 neighbours were trying to snowblow with small 2 stage blowers 600' of roadway because they were trying to get an ambulance down the road to treat one of their wives. Steve plowed 600' of road for them, getting stuck 3 times, but knew it was the right thing to do. The town plows couldn't get to these side streets. You never know when you might need 911.
Wow, very nicely done videos, your lane to your cabin isn't long enough, LOL, I have a 1/4 mile lane that drifts badly, I enjoy clearing it too. I have an old 1750 Oliver, 2WD, chains, and a 7' New Idea blower, it does the job but it can be a challenge. Watching your videos is entertaining and educational, keep em coming. A subscriber from Iowa, USA
Hi GP Glad to see that you concurred your driveway, thank God I’m only about 100’ off the main road… Hey GP I just ordered some spray-on Turtle Wax for my blower unit, recommended by John @ a Ridder Bit Will Do & it kept the blower input area and shut clean during his adventure you might want to try it out for that wet snow… God Bless Buddy…Chief…{NYS/ADK}
I have the same tractor and blower setup. Im trying to learn as much as possible, but there is so much to cover. A video of you greasing the blower and oiling the chain would be so helpful.
Morning and congrats SMM! I believe you will find a few videos on it from last year and the year before on my channel homepage. It is alot to take in but you will get the hang of it in no time. :) If you ever have any questions I am happy to try to help out. my email is gordpotter55 at gmail dot com. I am not an expert but always willing to help answer if I can. Cheers!
@@GPOutdoors Woah, I really appreciate it! You very well might hear from me. I recently moved to Maine to take care of several acres, and this tractor is a big part of it. Unfortunately, I don't actually know anyone who has ever used one before, so you and your videos are the closest things I have to a "helpful neighbor" in that regard. Stay warm this weekend.
Thanks for the tips. Fortunately I don’t have as many trees that fall on my half mile driveway. I love the privacy I have and it’s worth the adventure. I have back country skis and that’s how I get around and that’s why I’m known as Bladerunner. We have 10 miles of ski trails with the adjacent neighbors.
Great series of videos GP, very enjoyable watching you work while relaxing in front of the woodstove! 🙂 Certainly a beautiful spot and well worth the efforts I'm sure!
I watched all 3 parts. Quite the adventure. Not for the faint of heart but I guess if you know what you're going to be up against going in then you're prepared for the worst. Nice job documenting the experience. Dave
Happy New Year! All the best to you and yours. A special thanks to you for all the videos about the LX and accessories. I duplicated most everything and couldn’t be happier. I’m a 74yo first time tractor owner and yes it’s still fun.
Greetings Gord, Lee here, you made it ,great. Just a thought, here we trim all the small, tall, scraggly trees along the road or trails edges that have the tendency to bend over the road in heavy snow or ice back 10 or 15 feet, what ever it takes to stop having them block the road. Whenever we have spare time we do a little each years as time allows. Any way just a thought, you and your family keep well, later.
Thanks for the video, Growing up in Minnesota I have snow shoed for years so I get them out when we have 6-8"or more. It's surprising how much they help, you sink just a few inches and they keep you from slipping as you walk. Surprised Canadians don't all have a pair ( or 3 ). I love My northern Mn cabin I have a short drive but deal with the same issues so I enjoy watching your videos. At the moment we have 3 feet of snow on the ground.
Another great video Gord. Watching these videos is like therapy. I haven't had any snow now since the 28 of DEC and that's ok with me. We still have a lot more winter to go and when it snows again I'll be ready. Keep those videos coming, stay warm, and God Bless.
Thanks for sharing. Don’t know why but I didn’t really realize how extreme and challenging the conditions can be. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
There you go, if that snow got any heavier you would have been in dire straits, but you got out early, and beat it in time 😁 Quick tip, no matter how tired you are after a long day/evening/night (or all 3) out, always scrape the auger housing & chute free of snow. It's those times you don't that the next day gets colder and the snowblower freezes up... ughhh.. Or the next day is hotter, and a half-clogged snowblower, which, even if you scrape the snow out, is still going to be wet.. Having a dry snowblower you can simply apply preventive measures (WD-40/Diesel) and the blower will be that much more effective 😊 Another thing, and it's related to emergency services which you were quick to touch on, kudos! I know it's nice to keep trees, your conservative style has allowed the forest to flourish and it does look lovely. But from experience, a treeline that close to the road could just as easily impair emergency services, and indeed your way in/out, in a potential crisis. Have seen and heard of avoidable tragedies because emergency services got stopped by treefall. Ultimately it's your property, but it's worth considering.
Good morning and thanks for the great comments. Yup, learned the hard way to clean it out before leaving it overnight. LOL! Good point about the driveway. It makes sense but just not sure how to clear back far enough to minimize the risk. Thanks again - have a great weekend!
@@GPOutdoors Again thanks for the great and relaxing videos. I think about 3-4 more yards, not that much, at the worst places (right around the corner after that hill for instance) should do the trick, then you can expand other areas as the years go by 😁
HI GP, Looks like you're making progress. O a lot of our mountain Top Radio sites, if we owned the property we cut the trees and brush back 20ft on each side to give the snow cat drivers and techs a little less time cutting and working on radio equipment. I saw on another UA-cam Channel there is a skid steer front attachment that takes those small trees and mulches them up and makes virtually dust out of them.
Happy New Year Gord and family. I’m really enjoying this three part series of you cleaning up your driveway. I would love to have a secluded cottage with a large wooded property. My cottage in Haliburton has neighbors real close on both sides but they’re great neighbours and I’m not complaining. I’m presently enjoying my waterfront view with a nice drink. Take care.
Hi Gord…it’s nice having the right equipment for the job. It might be time to start dropping those pines and other questionable trees along the drive this summer. 😊
Great series!! I have walked 100’s of miles in snowshoes and you never know how much better walking is when you are not post holing. PS don’t forget the gaiters.
Somewhat surprising just how well that blower works for what is comparatively, a small unit. Looks like you sized it just right. I agree, it's an enjoyable adventure and challenge!
GP, great series and the honesty of what is involved with this lifestyle. I sure would have liked a small segment of towing with the chains just to round out the information that I'm packing away. Cheers!
Great videos Gord !! We just got another dump last night here in Mattawa area, thankfully only about 4 to 5 inches !! Thanks to my son for the 2210 Kioti with the Berco snow blower !! A couple hours we had the driveway and road open and helped the neighbour by opening his driveway as well !!. Should have seen the Twsp plow operators face when he ran out of snow in front of the house LOL
Must be the same storm that hit me. Took all morning to get to main road, had a couple dozen trees down and my plow truck could barely get through. I think we ended up with 20+ inches heavy wet snow. I like your rig.
We almost bought an off the grid property with a 2km access road but that deal fell through and we ended up with a hobby farm on the grid with a 300 meter driveway. I enjoy blowing it in the winter and like you I had the same thing happen. I cleared 2 weeks ago only for it all to have melted away. Better safe than sorry i guess. Crazy weather. Cheers.
Loved the 3 videos of you opening the driveway. I often wondered how difficult it was to put chains on a tractor...you made it look pretty straight forward. If you ever get a chance, I would really like seeing a dedicated video of chain installation. Thanks again for all this great content!
Happy New Year Gord. I know exactly what you had to go through to clear your road in to the cabin. I have similar challenges on my driveway though it not nearly as long, only 1000 feet to do. I get trees down as well and regularly carry a chain saw while clearing. That wet snow provides additional challenges, I had to clear the shoot and auger area on mine with a crowbar as it got packed in there so densely. I love it up here as well and it's worth the extra work IMO.
Hey Gord, I have those aqualine chains and they make my L3560HSTC like a freight train. Especially with the rear tires loaded. Nothing stops it. I had a snow / rain event here too this year... Really packed up my 84" blower!
The adventure is in the journey not just the destination, you could use all the softwood for burning in a fire pit in the season. Enjoyed your challenge and how you handled it.
If you need to clear heavy, wet snow, it can help to spray heavy-duty silicone on the dry metal of the augur and box and also the chute before you start.
20 or so years ago, I would have enjoyed the challenge of clearing the snow. Not so now, I prefer watching you do it.
I enjoyed the video.
I like how you talk to the camera like you are actually talking to me. You are the teacher I am but a student.
Those who get it, get it. Those who don’t never will….. thanks for the video

Those piles of pine branches will make some nice habitat for forest animals and probably a few birds to hide in them.
We need more Canadian off-grid content!

Gp, you're able to be out with Mother Nature and all her glory. Enjoy it while you can. GREAT VIDEO!!! Be safe .
Enjoying, well kinda, the same sloppy weather here in eastern Ontario.

Hi Gord,
Very enjoyable to watch, I love that life you have there. Can’t wait to see what kind of boat you have for the summer.
God bless
Nice job plows just like my John Deere no difference👍
The juice is worth the squeeze is one of the best quotes I have heard in a long time. Hard work, perseverance and love of life is so important. Please keep doing what you do, love your channel. God bless you my friend, I wish I had the time time to enjoy what you are experiencing.
:). Thanks so very much for your kind comments- I am happy to hear you enjoy watching. Have a wonderful weekend!
Be safe!
glad you got it opened up. Really liked the editing at the end with voice over and additional tractor shots. Take Care my Friend, J
I spray my Schulte blower with diesel to keep it from rusting and adds lubricant to keep if from plugging in wet snow. I also spray it during the summer. I bought my blower in 2017 and it looks brand new.
Happy new yrs to u and ur wife
Happy New Years James!
This reminds me of the lyrics of the song (Breathe) by Pink Floyd:
"Run, rabbit run - Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done - Don't sit down it's time to dig another one".
Live life to the fullest (or at least as 'fullest' that one can) 😉
So impressed with your 2610 and the ability to throw that wet sticky snow!! Thank you!!
Gord, thanks for the mini series. Glad to see our hero come out on top. Property looks good and keep those videos coming. Great content.
Hi GP,
Thank You for sharing your adventure.
I wouldn't change being in a place like your camp. Good for the soul it is.😊
Cheers Mark!
GP safety comes first (family, friends, etc.,) Great advice to all living off the grid.
Glad to see you made it through opening up your driveway. Looks like a tractor with a snow blower and chains is a must have on your property. Thanks for the video Michael ☺️☺️
I always enjoy your videos. Very relaxing.
Gota Love that wet snow ; and lots of it. Nice process, thanks. - N Idaho -
Just learned an expensive lesson.
Real labor saver that blower is
🤘 that storm was like cement!. First time the my lx3310 didnt want to play in the snow!
There's a few reasons I dislike front mounted blowers
They don't throw snow very far and the biggest reason for when you get stuck , and that you will , almost guaranteed !
Hey Doug. I just checked and it is working - the closed caption is working. Sometimes it is delayed. Take good care!
Really enjoyed watching the adventure, GP! Couldn’t help thinking of all you had to do PLUS you filmed it to boot! Thanks! Happy new ear to you, Carol and the girls.
LOL! Thanks Larry. Wishing you and yours a wonderful 2023. Be well and thanks for saying hi!
You're going to have plenty of work for your chipper come spring!!
I'm sure it's not always fun, but it can be a great opportunity to be one with the outdoors.
This is the life! Working hard to enjoy your life
GP, made it back from Florida,
Wife says she loves the snow!
I liked this little mini-series. 👌
Thanks!
Thanks so much!
Hi GP Glad to see that you concurred your driveway, thank God I’m only about 100’ off the main road… Hey GP I just ordered some spray-on Turtle Wax for my blower unit, recommended by John @ a Ridder Bit Will Do & it kept the blower input area and shut clean during his adventure you might want to try it out for that wet snow… God Bless Buddy…Chief…{NYS/ADK}
@@stickmanmob You too my friend!
Cheers!
I watched all 3 parts. Quite the adventure. Not for the faint of heart but I guess if you know what you're going to be up against going in then you're prepared for the worst. Nice job documenting the experience. Dave
Thanks very much Dave! Cheers!
I'm exhausted just watching you work....😆
Happy New Year! All the best to you and yours.
A special thanks to you for all the videos about the LX and accessories. I duplicated most everything and couldn’t be happier. I’m a 74yo first time tractor owner and yes it’s still fun.
I enjoyed the Man vs Nature series. Reminds me of the Neil Young song Helpless. Best wishes for 2023.
Cheers Dave!
There you go, if that snow got any heavier you would have been in dire straits, but you got out early, and beat it in time 😁
Quick tip, no matter how tired you are after a long day/evening/night (or all 3) out, always scrape the auger housing & chute free of snow.
It's those times you don't that the next day gets colder and the snowblower freezes up... ughhh..
Or the next day is hotter, and a half-clogged snowblower, which, even if you scrape the snow out, is still going to be wet..
Having a dry snowblower you can simply apply preventive measures (WD-40/Diesel) and the blower will be that much more effective 😊
Another thing, and it's related to emergency services which you were quick to touch on, kudos!
Take care.
Love ur vedios
Really living off the grid come on your a pilgrim☘️☃️
LOL! Well I wouldn't say that but yes off grid for 10 years now. Cheers and thanks for tuning in!
Looks like you had some fun. Don't you just love having the right equipment to do the job. Thanks for sharing Gord!
Cheers RFL!
Hi Gord…it’s nice having the right equipment for the job. It might be time to start dropping those pines and other questionable trees along the drive this summer. 😊
WOW Gord that is a lot of work !
Great series!! I have walked 100’s of miles in snowshoes and you never know how much better walking is when you are not post holing. PS don’t forget the gaiters.
LOL! Thanks Jan!
Cheers!
Hey thanks very much - sorry i only got that one tree I chained out in Part 2 filmed but will try to get some in in the future for you.
GP Your video is a blessing for Us down here watching the circus in DC! Hope You keep bailing Us out down here. cheers!
Cheers.
Very nice series or videos you did Gord!! This was a fun adventure to follow you out!! Happy new year to all your familly!! 🙋♂️🚜🌲🪵☃️
I think so too Randy! Have a great weekend!
Yes, great point. Cheers!
If you need to clear heavy, wet snow, it can help to spray heavy-duty silicone on the dry metal of the augur and box and also the chute before you start.
Another great video.
