    I was a freshman in college in 1971 when Every Picture Tells A Story came out. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing Maggie May. I bought the album and it remains one of my most played records. Led by Maggie May, it is a great album. Also got to see Rod &. The Faces in concert back in the day and they were one of the best live bands of the era.

    • @kenennis6287

      Actually it came out during the summer of 1971. I had just graduated from HS headed off to UNC Chapel Hill in the fall.Maggie May was an all time favorite from the first listen. Saw him with the Faces in Charlotte NC at the end of my freshman year

    • @billbitterman9487
      @billbitterman9487 Місяць тому +2

      @@kenennis6287 Yep, I saw Faces probably in '73. It was an outdoor concert that included Alice Cooper and Jefferson Airplane. We were so lucky with the bands/artists from that era. Just great bands...althought Airplane was just not good. I think Grace Slick must have been on something cause she was badly off key for their performance. But Rod and Faces were absolutely great as was Alice Cooper

    There should be a Thumbs Up with LOVE when it comes to these two. Rod and Ronny are rock music legends, joined at the hip. Ronny's book has some lovely stories of when they were kids in the early days of the faces. They were so young and shy that when the girls came back to their hotel after the gigs they would rig up dividers between their beds. So cute and so human. God bless the pair of them.

    I saw Rod Stewart at Tinley Park Illinois back in 2004.Our boss Wesley Pratt took most of our plumbing shop and some a few of his important people like contractors by 3 limos up there at that half in and outdoor venue.We had a skybox full of beer....booze and good food.Rod did about 3 versions of his music past.Started out with his Faces hits.....his 80-90's stuff and his love ballads.He let his daughter get out there and do her stuff.Plus other people in the band....like a few of the female back up singers did their thing too.What a great showman he was.We were up high in the air so overlooking a view of part of the parking lot.Ozzy Osbourne's buses and band was parked and ready for Saturday night.

    Ronnie Wood provided both the bottom and acoustic melody to most of Rod Stewart's songs. Taking absolutely nothing from his songwriting and tenacious original vocals, without Wood he would have been another incomplete and frustrated artist. Together though, they created rock-and-roll legend.
