Thank you so much for this video. My blind friend was given this watch and he didn't know how to operate it. I played your video over the phone to him and as soon as he heard the British guy talking he said "That's my watch". I let him listen to your instructions and he's well on the way to being an expert. Thanks again!

I bought the exact same watch with the Lifemax brand for my late father who had early dementia and never knew what day it was. He could read the time perfectly but he struggled to understand the digitised voice and kept pressing the wrong buttons so it was no use to be honest which was sad, but it kept perfect time and picked up the signal every night for an update.

Too many buttons for many older people, all they want is to know the time.

My Hearkent is a bit simpler, it only has a button on the top for the talking. Press once and it tells you the current time and temperature. Press twice and it says the date. Third press it tells you whether or not it was updated. It also has buttons near the four and eight for alarms.

Great video as always Greg. Please could we have an updated watch collection video? I'm guessing the collection is quite large now!!

5:17 I hear “time not updated” WAY too often on my Hearkent Clock. Mind you it’s near a window. 😆

Thank you for all your videos. You do many battery changes in other watches. It would be nice to see one on this watch, since the battery change is not the usual battery. Thanks.

Do you know how to set a very similar (non-taking) watch with buttons only at 2, 3 and 4 o'clock? "On-time" is the manufacturer/brand.

The way to get this to update: take a length of wire.. doesn't matter what kind, inside telephone wire, speaker wire, ethernet wire, even an unused extension cord. Wrap one end around the body of the watch 10-20 times, and string the rest up like a long wire antenna. Your improvised long wire antenna will catch more of the signal , create a standing wave inside it, and the coil end will induce a stronger radio signal into the tiny interal antenna in the watch.
If you want to make a permanent signal booster, cut a piece of cardboard into a square, coil up one end of your wire (thin is easiest to work with, like from old inside house telephone wire), coil one end into a circle a few inches in diameter, tape your circle down to the cardboard in a circle, and then set it on your shelf or nightstand where youw ant to park your atomic time sync watches at night. String the rest of the wire up as your long wire antenna. Then just part your watches on the cardboard square signal boosting watch parking pad..

You can thank my paretns for buying the family a shortwave family that I played with as a kid for this ;-)

I have confirmed my watch for central time but it is still an hour off. It says the right time but if you look at it, it is the wrong time by one hour

I guess you don't need lume on this one. People with vision impairment might find it useful. It seems thick but that speaker does its job.

Those watches always pop up in Amazon when I search for radio controlled Casio watches, or even when I look at a specific multiband watch or GShock.

I have had several of these watches. They last about a year with average us and then the battery dies. Quite often when you replace the battery, the watch never talks again although the hands will still keep time. It’s basically a throwaway. When the watch dies, you just buy a new one. Don’t go through the trouble of changing the battery.

Visually impaired people can't read black text on white background... so get the black background version with white text (Amazon). Also, changing that battery is going to be a challenge for a visually impaired person. I love my Casio ABC atomic solar watches, you want a watch to be always right and always working... which is where smart watches fail miserably... but I can't read the display any more. I have an atomic wall clock that anounces the tiem, and you can set it to 24 or 16... 16 won't announce the time during the night hours.
To get best WWVB reception, leave your watch face down.. like on a wash cloth flat. I found if you put the watch on its side so you can read the time... it won't pick up WWVB .. on my Casios. But face down, gets it every time. Internal antenna orientation.

Thank you for this "how to" video on how to operate this watch. Although it was helpful, it unfortunately didn't solve my problem with this watch. The problem I am having is that the time that it announces does not match the time of the hands. The voice is correct, the hands are not. I have tried leaving it on the windowsill for it to fix itself, but it didn't work. The owner of the watch is happy with it because it verbally gives the correct time, and with his low vision he can't see the face anyway. However, I think it's weird that the time on the face does not match the verbal.

Seems some dismay over 'English Accent' sincere apologies from the U.K... lol.
Maybe it's payback for the amount of 'American English' accented kids toys we get in the U.K 🤔....😂

Hi! I like your videos. Very nice channel! I couldn't find any contact information , so I decided to write here. I hope it's not a problem. You seem to know a lot about Casio watches. I have a picture of a watch I want to find, but I don't anything about it … I think it's some kind of Casio model. If you don't mind, can I send you the picture and hopefully you can tell what that watch is? Thank you!

If you just happen to read the comments before you watch the video, please if you are visually impaired like I am instead of going through this video, you will be better off just taking your watch to a jeweler and having them set it up because even with this video I still had a very hard time. Trying to set this watch up. Just giving you a heads up. Nothing against the guy who made the video. The video is an awesome video but if you are visually impaired it’s pretty tough anyway you all stay blessed like I know you are!
