Shanghai sweet and sour pork ribs - one of my favorite dishes

  • Every time I make this, I wonder why I don't make it more often. It's super easy. Just follow the video and you won't regret it.
    Ingredients:
    2 lbs of cut up pork ribs
    3-4 scallions
    1-2" chunk of ginger
    toasted sesame seeds (optional)
    For the marinade:
    1 tbsp light soy sauce
    1 tbsp rice cooking wine
    For the sauce:
    1 tbsp of chinese black vinegar
    2 tbsp of sugar (rock sugar preferably)
    2 tsp dark soy sauce
    water as needed to cover ribs while simmering

    Great video. What type of stovetop range do you have? Did it come with the wok burner, or is that just a normal burner with a wok holder? I’m interested in something like that

      It's a Samsung. The center burner is larger, more BTUs (22k), and came with a wok holder. It does a pretty good job all things considered, but check out my other videos for a true outdoor wok experience with a 160k BTU burner!
