    Love watching bodywork fabrication. A bonnet saved and not scrapped, a winner!👍😀

    Nicely done. Good episode, nice to watch. This is how we all struggle and keep our mini's on the road.

    Great job. Some tricky angles and shapes to content with there. 👍

    We done our 2.8 Capri bonnet just like that, still can say its original bonnet the car came with, nice job.

    A good result given the basic tools available. My first workshop necessity is a good sized engineer's vice solidly mounted to a sturdy bench, but I also have a No.2 Record vice that I have mounted on a square of thick plywood with a batten fixed underneath to clamp into a Workmate. It's invaluable and would have made the fabrication a bit less difficult. With some packing to protect them, dollies can also be clamped into the vice for shaping. Best wishes.

      Cheers yes the vice would have made it easier and he has this kit in the garage but if you take a look that’s a rather full garage and was unable to get to that. I think that’s result with just using his hands turned out really well. Thanks for watching 👍

    Great to see some home repairs on it hammer and dolly and basic tools .. turned out really well for a driveway repair . I love to see things repaired rather than chucked . Keeps the car more original

    I say that he's done a great job on that repair. It didn't look easy & I know for a fact that I couldn't do it. Love the bonnet badge, I have one in my collection 😍

    Good on you for tackling this kind of repair, most would bin the bonnet and replac, with something in better condition! proof we can save rather than replace, the simplist of things just takes time and patience. :D Awesome work

      Glad you enjoyed this one. It’s a great little driveway repair and saves a bonnet instead of having to buy new. He has absolutely smashed it 👍

    Great repair! Thanks for the video! With the curves on that support piece, it may have been easier to get the curves by welding separate pieces together rather than trying to hammer and dolly?

      @SimpsonsClassics  Рік тому +1

      Cheers. Yes that was definitely an option but it was nice to get the dolly out and make the shape. Cheers for watching 👍

    Saw a Mini on FB marketplace for about 2 grand….severely tempted to nab it….only thing stopping me is the rust….no holes but lots of rust.
