You ask for feedback and you’re gonna get it! This is hands down my favorite podcast! OUR favorite podcast. We really love the fact that it goes from serious to silly. You’ve given my wife and I another way to spend time together, and many more conversation topics. And no, neither of us remember what our first movie together was, after almost 15 years! I know you guys are new to the podcast scene but i really think you have something special going on. Keep up the amazing work!

My favorite recent movie is "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once". I laughed while crying, and cried while laughing. The mother/daughter relationship really spoke to me and my problems with my mom.

My number one is Sound of Music. Tied with Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and almost have every single line in each one memorized. And I think cinema has changed because society has changed and I think we have to have different expectations because nothing can replace anything 100%. I have to say the cut scene bit where you derailed Impulse made me laugh out loud

I have some trauma and sleeping is very difficult; I turn your podcasts or stream replays on at night for a comforting voice, and it almost makes me feel safe, safe enough to sleep. "Second Hand Lions" is an awesome movie that for some reason never got the appreciation I think it very much deserved.
I love that movie! Michael Caine disappeared in that role; I would never have known that was Alfred.

I love these "chill and chat" episodes. I appreciate that y'all put the thought in to come up with a topic you know you can discuss at length. Movies I love: "Princess Bride" '87, "Yellowbeard" '83, "The Court Jester" '55. I just realized the first 3 movies to spring to my mind are comedies. Do with that what you will. Also "Short Circuit" '86, "Batteries Not Included" '87, and gods help me: "The Ringer" '05. Batteries Not Included and Short Circuit are about as close as I get to chick flick movies, btw. Unless you count Princess Bride in that list too. LOL Oh, wait I have to include "Labyrinth" '86. That one really means something to me. It spoke to me in a way I'm still not sure I get about 30 years later. And it has one of my all time favorite love songs, which most people won't consider a love song.
Love Adam Sandler. His heartfelt song about his girlfriend who dumped him in “The Wedding Singer” is just the best thing ever.
And, Brad Pitt! Se7en, Snatch, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are my faves.
For me, the movie I “have” to watch when on tv is The Count of Monte Cristo with Jim Caviezel. It’s a great movie.
This was such a fun podcast! I’d love if there was a part 2 to this one!! :) If you wanna talk about music in movies, How to Train Your Dragon’s score from John Powell!! Oh my GOD it gives me full body goosebumps every time. And the story is just incredible, it’s my absolute #1 favorite movie. Animation in general is such a great medium for story telling, the creativity alone can be endless.
I used to watch that movie repeatedly for several years because it was that amazing. I could quote the first lines of the movies with perfection for how many times I watched it.
Skizz, thank you for expressing your struggle with not being able to watch movies because you still mourn the loss of being apart of that world. I recently found closure on not being included in a project that was very near to my heart. Hearing you voice that struggle was a nice bit of “not being alone in my struggles” cherry to the closure cake. ❤
You asked the question, "What movie did you and you wife first watch together." So I thought about that for myself and my boyfriend. He actually asked me to be his girlfriend during a "movie date." However, it was not a movie we were watching, it was the ZITS irl board game live stream. Does that count? 😂

Two of my all time favorite movies are "Labyrinth" and "Princess Bride". i enjoyed the characters and music from Labyrinth but at the beginning of the movie where she couldn't "remember those lines" and then near the end when it brought them around full circle hit me soo hard!!! it actually changed the way i treated myself in this life i was forging
Same, I forgot about Labyrinth David Bowie was amazing in that movie. (I don't like him normally, most of his music is kind of meh)
Impulse, I love you, but it is CINEMA-tography, not CINNAMON-tography. LOL! Made me laugh every single time. :D

I am always confused/sad when people speak of movies from 80s/90s as "old." The crime/gangster films of the 1930s like Scarface, Little Ceasar, The Roaring Twenties, and others, are still worth watching. It is possible to like 1930 Doorway to Hell and John Wick. Also, North by Northwest, Some Like It Hot, Ball of Fire, & dark comedy, In Bruges.
one of the first movies that made me realize "Wow! that's art" was Baby Driver. It's weird, the main character "Baby" barely talks and the whole movie is filled with with music and the more you watch, the more you see how much the music Baby is listening to is shaping his perception of the world around him. It's also filled with great music and my go-to car playlist :D
Edgar Wright has made great movies, I like rewatching them and enjoy it every time.
This was a fun episode, but I'm hoping the next one will be back to being a little more serious, but not too serious of course!
I've never seen The Big Lebowski but I'll definitely be watching it today or tomorrow.
My favorite movie is Interstellar. I've seen it a few dozen times and I still get this sensation of wonder and awe. I absolutely love it.
The first time I watched Interstellar I didn't like it much, the second and third time I was like, this is a masterpiece! This has to be in my top five sci-fi ever.
Man, talking about movies.... how to train your dragon might be my favorite (the first one, not the sequels). I've watched it so many times I could quote the whole thing and I can replay it in my mind with the entire soundtrack. WHICH-- i HIGHLY recommend. John powell was on something incredible when writing that score. Talking about incredible music pairing with the scenes in the movie, the whole scene with Test Drive playing in the background was the most incredible feeling... really if either of you havent seen that movie, please watch it!

I love movies but I can never remember anything like impulse. I’m always shocked when people can remember specific lines. It’s a great topic for a podcast. Loved every minute of it.

One of my favorite movies is Hidalgo. It is extremely well done and Viggo Mortensen is an amazing actor. I love a lot of his movies.
That movie is incredible, one of my top ten of all time. It sucks that Disney promoted it as "based on true events" when Hopkins journals and his statements have been found to be wildly false.
This is the first podcast I've watched on youtube. I've listened to your other ones through spotify on car rides. As much as you've made my commutes to work enjoyable, I have to say watching it with your live reactions makes it so much better. I haven't laughed or had "goosebumps" like this in a long time. Can't wait for the next one!
Good topic today, love it. I got goosebumps just from Skiz talking about that scene from Pitch Perfect. There is a some many movies out there, there is one for everyone. It would be fun to watch an Imp and Skiz movie trivia night 😅 Also, Tom Cruise doesn't age because he is a Vampire along with Brad Pitt (Interview with a Vampire).
Haha, me too. I get Goosebumps when it comes to good movies and especially songs. Those visceral reactions are surprisingly rare when I talk to my wider group of friends.
Just thankful MommaGoat has the same reactions to the same music I do.

I think the movie that touched me the most within recent memory was Maquia, which dealt with the idea of what is motherly love. It was an unrated Ghibli movie, so I expected some cute fantasy, but it hit me like a brick wall and I was absolutely hysterical. I love it so much though

Man, UA-cam did NOT want me to see this episode! I was sat here thinking it's been a while since a new podcast episode came out so I searched "imp and skizz podcast" and UA-cam is just like "you want the imp and skizz channel? Naked and scared, right?? What's a podcast?" I ended up having to resort to Google to find the right channel. I'm glad I did though! Great episode, I really enjoyed the way you guys break down what makes movies such brilliant art!
Some movies I really like: “The Fall” starring Lee Pace, “Run the Wild Fields” starring Sean Patrick Flanery, “Tremors”, “Animal Crackers” -Marx Brothers, “Mirrormask”, “Jaws”, and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” starring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra.
The Fall is one of my favorites too. Visually stunning. People may know Lee Pace from Pushing Daises.

In the past 5 years, “Infinity War” and “SpiderMan: Into the SpiderVerse” tied for my favorite two movies of all time. (Oh, and 2021’s “ZS’s Justice League”. Soooo freaking good!!)
Unfortunately, Disney decided to destroy Marvel…so, the magic is now gone.
10 minutes into the episode and I'm already on a nostalgia trip. One thing I always remember doing during the Skizz Quiz was if I didn't know the answer I would always answer with The Karate Kid. And I wouldn't be the only one doing it.
Not in any order:
Clue - Tim Curry was absolutely brilliant. I watched this movie about a year ago for the first time in 15-20 years and it still holds up.
Inside Out - This movie conveys the emotional development of a child in a brilliant way.
Rocky Horror Picture Show - Tim Curry, what else needs to be said.
Django Unchained - Jamie Foxx was amazing and he was still outshined by Christoph Waltz's and Leonardo DiCaprio's performances.
Princess Bride - I had to edit my reply and add this one when I saw this movie mentioned by someone else. The most manly love story ever.
Honorable Mention:
Clerks 3 - While I wouldn't put this at to top of any best movie list, I am mentioning this movie since its new and Clerks was mentioned in the podcast. I enjoyed it greatly but the first 2/3 of the movie felt like fan service and probably wont be enjoyed as much by someone who isn't a Kevin Smith fan. However, the 3rd act is the best acting in any Kevin Smith movie ever and is absolutely fantastic. Emotional rollercoaster, which is weird when talking about a Kevin Smith movie.
favorite 2 movies is definitely gladiator, midnight in paris, and into the wild.

Dude. I think we would have been friends if I grew up in AZ! My favorite band is Tool. I was listening to Tool, Deftones, Korn, Green Day, The Offspring, Dre, Snoop, Eminem, grunge, metal, country, ALL OF IT! Favorite comedy is Liar, Liar! Favorite movies are Clerks, Mallrats, The Big Lebowski, Usual Suspects, The Matrix, Tombstone, the list goes on. The first movie my wife and I watched together, on our first date, was Resevoir Dogs!
You two are my kind of people! I think that's why I watch you both. I can relate.

Really interested if you have any favourite animated movies! To me animation is my favourite medium with How to train your dragon, Shrek 2 and Kung Fu Panda being my all time favourite movies!
Hey guys I know this isn’t about movies but you’ve mentioned finding new music a couple of times. This hits pretty hard, but if you pay attention the message is great. You’ve gotta check out Citizen Soldier. Another fun podcast and I wouldn’t even have thought about the length of you didn’t mention it.
It is so heartbreaking, working with coworkers that have never heard of Clerks or Mallrats or any of that series! I remember being young and watching movies over and over again as well, and now I can barely hold attention. I need to be folding laundry, or something during it. I hate it!
You probably did watch it but Shutter Island is such a master piece. My question is : At the end, does he know what is going to happen and just play a role, or not ?
He 100% knows IMO, but it's open for interpretation either way which is why I love it. He'd rather not live as this monster he knows he is, and there's such a tragic beauty in that.
Rewatching that film in the context of the ending and catching all of the little clues, and realizing the entire thing was structured as it was deliberately makes it an absolutely DEVASTATING re-watch.

I have several things to say because I also love movies tremendously.
1- As a 22 year old, 20 at the time this episode came out, I am surprised at how many movies that you guys talked about are movies I've seen XD
2- Some of my favorite movies from recent years for whatever reason be it the cinematography and art, story, or just beause it were funny are the following: Klaus, Mitchells VS the Machines, Nimona (a fantastic movie), The Sea Beast, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, the two Spiderverse movies, Ready Player One, Bad Guys, Deadpool, The Adam Project, Red Notice, The Greatest Showman, Alpha, Hidden Figures, the Dungeons and Dragons movie, Onward, Strange World, and The Boy and the Heron. A lot of these are animated movies as that is what I find more interesting, but all of these are really good movies that I have seen that have come out relatively recently.
3-Skizz, if you are willing to debate, I’ve got an opinion about Top Gun that a lot of people would probably be mad about
I have 3 number 1 movies and I say which one is my favorite based on who I’m talking to. If I know your a fellow movie and film nerd my Answer is The Batman. Even if you not a comic book nerd (which I am) the cinematography, lighting, editing, soundtrack, sound design, along with the acting and story are all some of the best detective noir I’ve seen in my entire life. Just the fact that they used a firework rocket to get the Batmobile engine sound is just genius. The other is what I tell people I know love worlds and story and that is Stardust. Every time I watch that movie I notice something different about the world around them. The third and final is what i say is my nostalgia movie which is the Count of Monte Cristo.
The most touching movie I have seen in the past five years is The Resistance Banker. It’s a Dutch movie about the single greatest bank heist in the history of the world in order to save Europe.

Every time movies comes up I always suggest "Stardust" it's got Michelle Phiffer and Robert DeNiro. It's great.
Another excellent podcast, enjoying the mix of serious and lighthearted topics. I will check out some of the films you discussed as I've not seen them. Some of my favorite films are Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Boondock Saints and Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. Love many of the animated films too.
If you haven’t seen “Old boy” great watch, very twisted and dark but great story telling. Last 5 years the only movie that comes to mind is “Joker”, Pheonix was brilliant. Amazing cinematography and story telling. Instantly became one of my favourite movies of all time. Really hope the sequel is as amazing as the first

Excellent call on American Beauty. It is my #2 of all-time. It's amazing how you recall the scene of Lester imprisoned in the work monitor and that you never realized it until you looked closer- on the wall of his cubicle is a sign that reads the film's tagline. "Look Closer." So much of life- and this is even more true in the age of social media- is way more than we see on the surface. It's legitimately perfect. Sam Mendes is incredible beyond words.
For me the true transformative Carrey performance is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, also one of my best of all time. He is so muted in that role and so emotionally invested, it's just this perfect series of gut punches throughout. An absolute masterclass in unconventional storytelling, too.
Great episode as always, gentlemen. I studied film in college and dabble in some screenwriting (non-professionally) and hosted a film podcast for five years, so it's always great to hear people just spill on their passion for film.
I find that memory works a lot like a google search. It won't give you any thing until you give it key words to search for. They can't just be any words though, they must be connected to the content you're searching for. In the brain different things can work as key words that link to memories such as sound, smell, or taste. So when one of those key words is run through the search, like a certain song, it can bring up a list of all the things that have happened that that song has been linked to in the brain.
29:37 I think that's a mark of a good movie that you can watch it any time after it came out and still enjoy it.
A movie that hit me when I was young was A Walk To Remember. It hit me hard because I have a cousin who passed away in her teenage years, and all she wanted was a love story but was scared to bring anyone else into her problems. When I watch this movie I imagine her having her love story and it makes me cry every time.
I really like these episodes of just random convos, reminds me of talking with my best friends :) Would love to have similar eps of music, TV, etc down the line

movie from the last five years that affected me was spider man into the spiderverse, I loved the art style and all the little easter eggs that were lovingly sprinkled throughout, and how miles was reneded at half fps until he's spider man to make him jittery
Shawshank redemption is my favorite movie ever
My two favorite movies that touched me: interstellar and Jack the giant slayer. Two top notch movies with great acting, but heavy undertones. Consider watching those 😊
43:15 The Arrival, with Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner. Most people I knew personally said oh it was okay oh it was too slow oh it was boring.... I didnt get the chance to watch it til way later and let me tell you....
I was HOOKED! Watched the entirety of that movie completely fascinated and to this day I can't quite express what a sublime movie that was for me and I encourage everyone to watch it.
Agreed. Top Gun: Maverick was near perfect. You have to see it.

If you go a little further back, Arrival (2016) and The Martian (2015) are very, VERY high on my list. Arrival blew my socks off first time I watched it and ripped my heart out the second time.

I felt so called out when Impulse talked about people writing some of the movies down to watch it later lmao... I was listening to it on a walk on spotify and when you talked about a movie I hadn't seen yet and it sounded interesting, I litterally wrote it down lol
I stopped the podcast to watch american beauty and wow. That is a very deep movie. So many things to pick up on. When skizz says watch a movie, watch that movie. It’s usually a very good reason
I definitely recommend the Elvis 2022 movie. It's done so well and the way they pulled off everything is incredible. It was so very touching. 10/10 recommend
10:35: saw American Beauty once, in the theatre, and liked it. Knew it was about never being too late to change your life. But I didn’t get the feeling it was about hope…probably because Lester got shot in the head. If anything, it told me, “oh, f***…don’t make waves.” Lol.
First of all....LOL! Ok now as for the shot in the head thing; keep in mind he was smiling. The msg being that even though it would have been nice for the rest of us (the audience) to see him enjoy many more days, he indeed got it all back and lived "the rest of his life" happy. Dark and ironic as it was, the beauty of that scene cannot go unnoticed. And what tops is all off? Ricky....sees the smile....and smiles back. He understood, because he's always understood. The teenage drug dealer mentored the middle aged man on how to find himself.
@@impandskizzpodcast oh yeah…I remember the dude smiling at his body now. I didn’t pick up on the meaning of it. I think I thought it was just weird, like the dude himself. So, now I need to watch the movie again.
I totally relate to the sentiment of having movies or TV on as background and not watching as many great movies because of wanting to be immersed in them. Heat is one of my favorite movies but I rarely watch it because it's over 3 hours long and I don't want to just casually put it on, so it's a time investment to watch.
Also, The Big Lebowski is hilarious. My friends and I used to watch it and drink white russians along with the Dude. Loved Flea's cameo with the group of nihilists.
Final thought, Tenet is one of the best movies of the last five years. Nolan never disappoints, but Ludwig Goransson was astounding with the score (Nolan wanted Hanz Zimmer, but he'd already committed to Wonder Woman and Goransson managed to capture a Zimmer vibe while creating a score that was just amazing) and John David Washington was fantastic in the lead role.
I'm the same as Skizz, I have this strange ability to memorize things on accident like randomly commercials from the 90s will come to mind when someone says something vaguely similar.
Big Lebowsky is mine and my brother's favorite movie. We saw it the first time when we were young and probably didn't understand the whole thing, but it had something that we loved. It didn't matter that we were young. It is timeless and we can watch it now and enjoy it the same. Many of my life quotes come from that movie :)
In terms of films from the last 5 years that really hit me that I recommend you watch. The ones that immediately come to mind are:

Bohemian Rhapsody
Knives Out
Tick, tick… BOOM!
All Quiet on the Western Front
Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio
And that’s just off the top of my head. Sure there are more.
I know this is an older podcast, but I enjoyed the "What's Stopping You" episodes so much that I had to start at the beginning XD. I would recommend 'Imitation of Life'... its an OLD movie, but it is just incredible and may hit close to the content creation v family dichotomy you guys are experiencing. Its about a poor mom who becomes an actress and slowly drifts away from her daughter as she becomes more famous...she eventually gains some perspective on what's important at the death of a lifelong friend.
Also feels oddly appropriate you guys DIDN'T talk about Fight Club... we all know what the number one rule is lol
Some great movies that I liked that you both could check out were:
Hot Fuzz (I could watch this movie forever and not be sick of it, it has great repeat value. I could write you an essay as to why you should watch it, so instead just watch it)
David Brent Life on the Road (If you’ve seen the British Office this is a follow on from that. It’s a great comedy with a heart and the last 5 minutes I find are one of those goosebumps moments skizz was talking about)
The Big Short (this is one I would watch without distractions, there is a lot that gets talked about that can be missed if you just have a casual chat. It’s a movie that is dressed as a comedy, but is really a low key horror film)
Also
Lock Stock and two Smoking Barrels (this film is still such an underrated gem of a comedy. A dark comedy but a comedy nonetheless)
And a good follow up from that is
Snatch (different movie same director, similar tone, just absurdly funny so very good. I found this to be one like the Big Lebowski that I had to watch a few times to fully appreciate)

Art is appreciated situationally. You perceive what’s in front of you … from your experience. This is why you can watch the same movie ten years later and have a completely different reaction to it.
My personal cringe in movies is excessive bad language. If there’s more than one “bomb” in each half of the movie, there’d better be dodging of actual bombs. Otherwise, the language becomes a complete distraction that leaves me wondering if “they” think I’m too stupid to appreciate real dialogue. Needless to say, I avoid most modern movies, especially anything rated other than G or PG. Even PG-13 has become crap.
I can't ever pick a favorite movie, I have to go by category. Animated, musicals, animated musicals, Disney, DreamWorks, live action, action, romance, comedy, teen chick flick, chick flick, science fiction. It goes on. Everytime I have a new favorite I find a way to make a new category for it. 😆😅
I love these podcasts, just makes me wish we could all go to a pub, grab a beer and chat lol. They remind me of my community college days when I'd sit outside with the older folks and be enthralled and amazed with their stories and life perspectives.
I'd like to throw out one of my favorite, somewhat recent, movies as well. It is inception (I know it's like 12 yes old at this point lol). But there's a lot to it that I loved. The cast is amazing, the cinematography is as well, and I felt like the story was fairly original, but also touches on those themes of escape and control over ones life. As well as, how what seems like a small idea can blossom into something major.

Just catching up after being out of town without Internet, loved this so much and could tell there were 1000 more movies you wanted to talk about. A couple that I was surprised you didn't mention are Momento and Phonebooth, both amazing cinematography. And for recommendations that you probably haven't seen, I highly recommend Princess Mononoke and Shane Acker's 9.
It's a lot of fun talking about all these movies and I love the conversation specifically around how they've changed and I think one of the big changes I've seen is the quantity of movies I am interested in. It feels like they're coming out faster than I can watch them, and yet when I go to the theater there's only 1 or 2 at best. Add on the fact that I've got a kiddo whose too young for a lot of these movies and I just keep missing things, so my backlog is pretty big. Then consider the amount of other media (UA-cam, Netflix, etc.) that isn't even on the big screen and I'm not catching up on my backlog. Maybe I have a lower priority for movies than I used to, but I hate missing out

Inside out- this movie hit home more than any other movie at the time, I moved across the us 3 separate times and the first time hurt HARD. I was around that exact age at the time as well, it helped me feel understood in a time I needed it most.
Zombie land is one of the few horror movies I insist on watching over and over again, it’s a awesome horror comedy and I can’t get enough of the jokes in that movie!
It’s a newer movie but the cinematography and underlying theme of fatherhood/brotherhood in The Adam Project is incredible! Takes a fun family action movie and makes it an emotional rollercoaster!
My heart breaks for Impy not having seen Maverick in theaters, because it is one of the greatest theatrical experiences I've ever witnessed, and I've been to a LOT of movies.
Find a friend with a huge home theater and see it there with a booming sound system. Don't skimp on it, Skizz will attest!
Hm, listening to this in bed while waiting for Elden Ring DLC to release... If I can get the fast forward remote for the next hour and a half it'd be awesome XD
Some of my favorites are fifth element, edge of tomorrow, Constantine, fight club, and signs. There’s many more of course. Like I’d really have to make like a top 25 favorite movies to list most of my favorites. Forrest Gump is way up there too. That movie still gets me teary eyed at moments from it even though I’ve seen it a million times.
You talked about the Karate Kid and the hype you get from the music playing. Another movie where that really struck was Vision Quest, young Matthew Modine before breaking out in Full Metal Jacket. Never wrestled in my life but the story was fantastic.

man, what a good episode! i have a list of movies i now HAVE to watch... and some rewatch. my all time favorite movie is The Truman Show. I remember having to study it for English in school and i hated it. years later i happened upon it and MAAANNN did it hit differently!
I love all of these podcasts!! I love not knowing what the topic is going to be next! I would say that, I, for one, would looove hearing some of the BEST moments from your lives: funny moments, moving moments, etc. Story time with Skizz AND Impulse! But seriously, anything/everything you guys talk about is so inspiring on all different levels, and I never thought that when someone introduced me to Mumbo's videos a few months ago, this is where I would end up. Gotta love the flow of life!
For me, the film that was a turning point for me watching films was "The Station Agent." It was the very first movie I had watched that starred Peter Dinklage (of "The Game of Thrones" fame). It made me a huge fan of Northeastern architecture and scenery. And, Peter does an awesome job playing the part of a hermit who is a train enthusiast. Highly, highly recommend.
Last comment I swear, but knowing how big a Kevin Smith fan Skizz is, I need to know what you thought about Clerks III, because it legitimately moved me to tears.

It's an Asian 'horror' movie and you have to stick with it through the first half hour. Trust me, it's hilarious and heartwarming 💙 also, no looking at spoilers. Go into it blind!
I loveeee Pitch Perfect as well, keep hearing the soundtrack every week, but the movies that touch me the most, and I'm not a very emotional guy, are If I Stay (with Chloe Grace Moretz) and Coco (the animation from Disney)... They are so good.. and the first one is about music as well!
My favorite movie is a simple one too that I can watch over and over Is "Ever After" with Drew Barrymore. It is my favorite Cinderella story. I love how simple and realistic it was. My favorite line that I like to quote from it is "Give me back my dress....Sir!" I love that Leonardo da Vinci was the Fairy Godmother. My second favorite was another fantasy classic "Princess Bride".
I'm like Skizzleman and I love to quote movies and shows and Anime. I love Fantasy/Sci-fi. I am a proud Geek! You name it I probably love it (Harry Potter/LOTR/Star Wars Star Trek... I had a Trek wedding!) I would rather watch a good cartoon or anime than watch reality tv or sit com. It would be fun if you did your favorite tv shows too. I do like Pitch Perfect as well Impulse. I have great memories with that one and my best friend. This was a fun topic....We know you wanted to remember 5th Element... I quote Azez LIGHTS! All the time!

My 'human psyche' trifecta of movies are Fight Club, American Beauty, and Office Space. All three are about guys that have just been worn down by the grind of mundane life and 'lost their way' and how they deal with finding themselves. Tyler goes super dark representing the Id, Lester takes the middle path between light and dark representing the Ego and Peter just goes full on happy go lucky representing the Super Ego.
I don't get to catch live twitch cast, but I get giddy every time I watch a video and Skiz says, "Name it!" because 99% of the time I know the reference. "Time for Wapner!", sorry Rain Man moment...Wait what? Raymond didn't have an arc?!?!? "Tell him Ray.", "K-Mart Sucks!"

I have to say that I’ve never seen any of these movies that you mentioned. My movie selection and movie choices is very small and my standards are high, but I really enjoyed hearing you talk about the ART of movies. I’ve actually never really heard anybody talk about movies in the way that you do. I’ve never met anyone who picks apart a movie like Skizz, and it’s amazing to listen to him!
My number one favourite movie is The Sound of Music. My sister and I have watched it so often that we can just about quote the entire movie from start to finish with the inflections as well!

Movies geez the 1986 transformers movie hit me hard wen I was kid coz Optimus died..I didn't see it till i was 5 or 6. I got over it eventually. Soo many good movies watched growing up as a kid to adulthood man like gremlins or original ghost busters, one of my dad's faves Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man was good. One thing I really love about your guys podcats is they either bring nostalgia or remind me of times etc. Really engaging your audience a lot. Makes u feel like ur part of the conversation.
Your talk about the Truman Show not being Jim Careys "normal" thing reminded me of Robin Williams in One Hour Photo the fact that it was so out of character for him just made his creepy character that much more creepy.

There's movies that I love and could watch weekly. And then there's movie I loved that I could never watch again because I don't want to lose the nostalgic memory of it.
Top 3 in any order: Dumb & Dumber, Hero (with Jet Li), The Princess Bride. I was really disappointed with Hero when I first watched it. But we discussed it as a group and figured out what it really meant. It's visually stunning, and acoustically masterful.
First time I saw Kung Pow, I hated it. Watching it a second time really made me appreciate it. I just wasn't prepared. Honorable TV show mentions: *Stella (Michael Showalter, Michael Ian Black, and David Wain), and Arrested Development.
Guilty pleasure, will watch every time I see it's on: Guardians of the Galaxy.
Favorite thing to do with a really bad movie is something like MST3K with a few friends.
