    I usually add the sweet potato tops and leaves on sinigang (tamarind) soup. I am also just blanching it and adding to my salad with tomatoes, an onion, and a little shrimp paste along crispy fried fish.

    I grow sweet potatoes 🍠 for their leaves actually and this is the first time I’ve heard of smashing cucumber 🥒 salad, interesting. 😊

      Do you grow them only for the leaves? I tried the greens and like them! I want my potato too, does trimming effect the tubers?

      @@katechildofgod2596from what I’ve heard, yes, it does, since that’s how the plant gets energy. You can grow a patch just for tubers and one for leaves if need be. I think I heard her say in the video she picks less than 30%.

    Look at your beautiful sweet potato leaves! Next year I will keep mine covered. It was a surprise planting & we've had too wet, too hot, too friggin many bugs, and 2 hail storms. They're still growing tho.
    Whoa! That is a crazy yellow pepper!

    This is an old video and I’m hoping someone will answer. I’ve been asking in many places, does cutting the vines help the potatoes get bigger or does this stunt the growth of the tubers?? Help!! I do like the vines and tried them for the first time but won’t eat them if it wrecks production. Thank you! ❤

    • @denyshadials5702
      @denyshadials5702 5 місяців тому +1

      Unfortunately, I can’t answer the size question, but I can tell you that the vines themselves are quite resilient. Take notice of the little nub at the base of each leaf. That nub has the potential to grow into another leaf or another vine. So if you cut a vine or it gets damaged, it’s just gonna form a new one. Even if you leave them be, they’ll create new vines off another vine for whatever reason.

    • @emkn1479
      @emkn1479 4 місяці тому

      From what heard cutting the leaves can negatively affect tubers because that’s how the plant gets its energy. You can always be conservative about how much you pick or just have two patches…one for tubers, one for leaves.

    Looks brutal bitting on the cucumber, there is nothing wrong with the cucumber juice, the best dehydrator. I am sorry but it just disturbed me.
