Just ignore the complainers. If you compare Fatal Fury on GG with Neo Geo its interesting to see what kind of sacrifices they made on game gear. And if you have Wii ware mega drive game compared to the actual mega drive it’s also good, just to show there is no difference in the emulation or to point out that one dropped frame somewhere random on level 3. You honestly can’t please everyone, so don’t let these people get you down.
Saturn version is incredible. I think this console is very underrated but have some titles, Dead or Alive, Virtua Cop 2, ,Outrun and other absolutely incredible. Love this console 💓
Sega did arcade games so well with their scalar games. Outrun is a fantastic show case of pure arcade fun and speed! The Saturn version certainly looks arcade perfect! The switch version is not bad, it's the car that makes the difference. My vote is Saturn Version by a hair due to licensed car, otherwise it would be a tie.
I was more impressed by the widescreen format of the screen on Switch than anything else. A sign that Yu Suzuki planned to make the game widescreen from the beginning, but kept the 4:3 format, perhaps for cost savings, as the game uses two System 16s and the use of a widescreen at that time would make the price of the arcade prohibitive .
Pretty sure that was just modded into the port and not any part of the original game’s code. Virtua Racing arcade version has a setting for widescreen. VR may be one of the most common arcade games ever - I’ve seen dozens of cabinets, but not a single one with a widescreen, so I’m not sure if they actually exist.
@@cbarger2327 I don't think it's possible to modify the backgrounds this much, unless the code is completely rewritten or the bg is originally larger than showing in the screen. Virtua Racing, on the other hand, is possible because it's a 3d game and all the geometry is on the screen.
Switch: widescreen, more sprites on the stone tunnel, unlockable cars with extra ability boosts. Saturn: A Ferrari. 3DS: The Switch version, but with 3D. Winner: Cannonball.
Even though the arcade game and original settings on these games are 30 fps, if you use software to check the framerate like Digital Foundry use, it will show 60 fps, because the road rastering is updated every other frame, and the sprite scaling is updated on the opposite frames.
