    That’s a great shirt Marc! This video was created in a perfect style for visual learners like me. 🙌
    I know there are many dishes I want to try making when I get home after eating them authentically here in Japan!!
    Take care,

      @@kathcares 🥰 The food is so delicious and fresh here. Tanner has been really amazing taking me to try different restaurants. I wouldn’t normally eat out so often but when in Japan I can justify it! 😉
      Thanks for thinking of me! 🌺🥰

      Thanks! @kathcares made the shirt for me. It's going to be my goto whenever I make something green. I'm happy to hear you've had a good time here!

      This is a good roll to practice on because the hard cucumber is much easier to handle and roll than something softer like raw fish. It's also a cheaper ingredient.

    Thank you, Marc, for this excellent tutorial. I actually made some decent rolls! I can see how the quality of the nori and rice would make a big difference in how these turn out. Fortunately, I had the best nori and rice, and my Kappa Maki were the best I've ever eaten! And those golden sesame seeds!💖

      I spent a lot more time than usual planning angles and cuts to try and convey the subtle techniques that make or break sushi so I'm really happy to hear this tutorial was helpful! Also, glad to hear you enjoyed the rice, nori and sesame seeds! They're the same ones I used in this video 😉

      @@NoRecipes I learned one very important thing: don't call the husband to the kitchen until all the rolls are made and cut! He ate them faster than I could roll them. We had some togarashi in ours, as well as umeboshi. So delicious!

    "The last thing you wanna do is cut the nori in half." I initially took that to mean, "you absolutely do NOT want to cut the nori in half." And then I sat here thinking, "...but he's cutting it in half! Huh?" hahahhaha! I'm so stupid...lol
    Watching you do the precision cutting on the kyuuri, reminded me of how zatsu I am with my own cooking. lmaooooo
    You used a RULER?!? OMG, dude, I really AM zatsu!! hahahahaha
    The end product was gorgeous as always!
    Cool shirt and makisu, man!

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  11 місяців тому +1

      Hahaha I hadn't even thought of that but it makes sense! Thanks dude! As for being zatsu, the roll is still going to taste the same if it's uneven (or even falling apart). 😉

    Hi! I’m one of your fans in Japan , and also my grandpa loves your movie style. But he can not understand English very well. Could you please add Japanese subtitles?
    Thanks:)

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  10 місяців тому

      Thank you for the suggestion and for watching my videos! Unfortunately I don't have the time to translate the subtitles, but I'm part of a beta test of an AI-based dubbing system which only does Spanish and Portuguese right now but I've heard Japanese in on the list. 🤞🏼

    • @kathcares

      Are you able to select Japanese subtitles from the settings menu?

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  11 місяців тому

      Do you mean salmon? If so, how do you want to see it cut, there are a lot of different ways to cut salmon depending on how you want to use it.
