Looking at the map of all the puzzles, each group has its own color and then a square that is not a puzzle but some sort of symbol. I think the symbol represents the greater theme. With this one the big theme was separation and the groups created by the line and the symbol to me looks like an abstract way of showing that.
Oh my god, 3-10 was using the Stars as the tutorial symbols because it IS how Stars works in The Witness! That made me genuinely laugh out loud, it's amazing.
When you mentioned the witness I realized something. Similar to the witness each area has a theme, and each section has a hint on the world map to its theme. World one has two connected shapes, and each level is about connecting specific shapes. World 2 has three different sets of shapes in increasing numbers and is about counting using different shapes as numbers. World 3 has a line separating shapes, and every solution involves segregating shapes or creating sections with shapes in them.
I absolutely love that Witness reference for the pairing puzzle at the end. They literally introduce the mechanic with the very same shape they use to mark that mechanic in the Witness
I feel the game was getting pretty sus when it introduces the stars as a shape that exist in the game earlier, I knew it HAD to come up at some point. 's great.
I'm certain it would fail horribly, it just doesn't have enough data for each level to be able to solve the last one without brute forcing. It can't think abstract like us humans who will realize the rules after a bit but instead think overcomplicated and never get to the answer unless it had more data.
Yeah, for example that prime number puzzle would be tricky for a neural network to solve. Most humans know about prime numbers if they've learned basic math, and will quickly spot the pattern in that puzzle while for a neural network it might be much harder to figure out from scratch.
@@tim..indeed but they can already draw much better than most humans, which is not always purely logical. LIke, basically never. I think AI could do this game.
I like how you sort through your logic. It kinda reminds me of cracking the cryptic. The cover some great sudoku variants I think you’d have a good mind for. I’d love to see you logic through a star battle puzzle
Tyler, I'm not sure how much of this you have played so far... But I think the fancy patterns on the "map" that are of the same colours as the "world" you are in hint you towards what type of rule you are playing with.
been playing this game since hearing about it from your first video, it's really fun! also really hard, especially since i'm trying to keep up with your progress so i don't get spoiled bc i really want to watch your videos lol
vehemently disagree. this game, much like the witness, is a master class in tutorials. at no point in either game does anything ever explain any part of the puzzle solving with words or even with symbols outside of the puzzles themselves, and yet the player learns increasingly advanced concepts that build on each other over and over and over again. if you think this game is confusing to learn the rules then I'm pretty sure you either have not played the game (youtube tyler edits out large parts of the learning process, so understanding the patterns only through watching the video and trying to figure it out before tyler reveals it on video is not realistic) or don't understand the premise of inductive reasoning.

I love that all of the "worlds" have a theme that they tend to stick to. It seems like the world "Icon" tries to hint at the theme as well, which is a very nice touch.
2:41 it's the third part and i only noticed there is a hint for each area, when Tyler says about segregation, and the square next to 3-2 segregates square from circle
I think 3-1's rule was that you have to get every square that's between a circle and square, even if the gap is larger than one square. So for 3-1-4 it'd be both the squares in the 2-wide gaps, and for 3-1-5 it'd be the ones between them diagonally.
What a great game. I think everyone should use literally any type of computer software the way you play this game whenever they're in doubt about anything Also this looks pretty easy to make in Scratch or something, so it better not be pricey
On world 3-5 you only need to start on a circle and end on a circle, you don't need to hit every circle. In the first level of that world clicking on just the circle solved the puzzle even though there was another circle you didn't touch.
I thought the game was pretty cool so I bought it too but I didn't expect it to get this hard this early. I figured out all the rules for Stages 3-8-9 and 3-?-6 but I couldn't for the life of me draw the lines that fulfill them so I had to watch this video..
Huh, just realized that the icon for the area is a hint to the kind of puzzles; the first stage was lines from shape to shape, the second was different numbers of shapes (counting), the third has a line between shapes
Level rules (numbers are exact unelss otherwise stated; one means exactly one) 3-1 - rule 1: avoid shapes - rule 2: same shape in each area 3-2 - rule 1: avoid shapes - rule 2: no duplicates in areas 3-3 - rule 1: start circle - rule 2: end square - rule 3: two areas 3-4 - rule 1: touch all stars - rule 2: avoid triangles - rule 3: one area 3-5 - rule 1: start circle - rule 2: end circle - rule 3: avoid squares - rule 4: segregate squares 3-6 - rule 1: start circle - rule 2: end circle - rule 3: avoid squares - rule 4: all areas has two shapes 3-7 - rule 1: start circle - rule 2: end square - rule 3: avoid triangles - rule 4: all areas have a triangle - rule 5: length equals all areas 3-8 - rule 1: avoid shapes - rule 2: each area has a circle - rule 3: each area has different number of squares
Hey @Aliensrock just so you know the starting icon at the start of each world hints at what the general theme for the world. For example this whole world is abt segregation & it shows it in the starting icon
He actually got the first level right but then he thought it was wrong because the rule is to cover ALL the empties between the circles and squares, not just a singular empty. Diagonals count too. Second rule is prob not going over a shape.
@@Cloiss_ Yeah I commented before I watched the rest of the levels. That being said, if memory serves me right, it's still a pattern that's consistent through all rounds in level 1 despite not being the intended one.

"What if this was a witness segregation puzzle" - Tyler 2021
It’s a lot like the witnesses puzzels

“dodge thought minorities” and

Tyler out of context is gold
As of Level 8, there were Witness-styled segregation puzzles

multiverse synchrony
and all is push
