    I was a sniper for 15 years and this is impressive shooting. My only observation would be at these distances and that wind there is the danger of chasing the POI ! You are very skilled and I love your passion .

      What do you mean by chasing the point of impact?

    • @mattfranks4086
      @mattfranks4086 Рік тому +12

      @@Spruce-Bug It means making scope adjustments based on your last impact. At those distances the wind can change where the impact is with 2 identical shots. To chase a last shot could mean your moving your point of aim in the wrong direction. When you get in the ballpark of where you want to be you should make a couple follow up shots with the same hold and see if your hitting the same spot or if your all over the place.

    Just came across this video and absolutely love it. My dad purchased a Sako in 7mm Rem Mag back in '72 and carried nothing else. He was a marksman in the army and he never lost his touch. I inherited his rifle along with ammo which means a lot to me. Keep up the great work Mark and Sam. Love from the U.S.

    I tried the same with my .22 Mag, I was pretty successful and able to hit the 24×24 plate very consistently out to about 25 yards. Not an easy shot, needed lots of preparation and a good scope with controlled breathing....

    • @Obelisk57
      @Obelisk57 3 роки тому +15

      @@wealthintruth6227 I wish I had the foresight to record it, sorry. But to start off, install a good muzzle brake to tame the massive .22 Mag recoil, a good spotting scope with at least 40X zoom is also good to have, but not required to see the 24×24 plate at 25 yards. I wouldn't go with anything larger than 4 ft×4 ft or closer than 10 yards otherwise, where is the challenge? Good daily workouts a week prior. Yoga is also an excellent activity to quiet down your mind. Some would even take the rotation of the Earth and how it affects the bullet drop into consideration at this kind of distance, I am just too lazy to do it. It's very rewarding when you hear that ding on that plate after you pull that trigger.

I've got a pair of 70x20 binoculars, with my eyes, that would be just about right for me at that range. I would also need a few hundred rounds to score one hit. I just don't have any place to do any long range shooting. I mainly shoot 22 pistol at 20 to 25 yards. I'm decent but not real good, most days my wife can out shoot me. She's got a steadier hand.

    Where I live there is no 3000 m/y to even try this. Nice to see anyways 👀 we have trees everywhere’. 300y/m is an exception here. Wonderful shooting

    7mm remmy is my favourite centre fire round. Quite amazed at what I can consistently hit at 600m. But out to 3000m, wow. Thank you for showing what this yummy round is capable of when really stretched.

    Just ordered a rear bag height adjuster from you for my 7mm... If you can try some vn570 powder you won't be disappointed! I have a 7mm weatherby case blown out with a 35 degree shoulder wildcat that holds 91 grains of h2o. My low node is at 2890 and it won't change velocities for .5 grains + or minus. My top node is at 2960 at the only difference is the group's are tighter. Problem is I like to use my brass multiple times. With reloader 33 at high node I get 10 firings per case. The norma brass is high quality and with my chamber being cut minimum Sammie specs I don't have issues with case expansion in the back or problems with primer pockets loosening up. I have a custom whidden full length sizer matched to my chamber so it reduces the amount of work done on brass... I have only shot her out to a mile but she will do it easily...
    Cheers to you and your wife
    Ps. Not lying, ES 11 ft per sec SD not sure but super low... Try the powder if you can get it.. It's like unicorn glitter shit... Straight magic

    Yeah I i thought 2000 yards was a very loooong way. Given that is the record of sniper kills using .50cal BMG and 338 Lapua this is bloody insane!!!!! I loved watching your WORK videos on the dyno. But this is crazy amazing.

    After shooting that many rounds, does the barrel heating up change the accuracy much? Great shooting by the way.....

      @JackSpeed 439 This is why M&S do their shooting during the fall and winter months. Also shoot this time of year because crops are harvested and fields are vacated during early morning hours, it appears to me. I wonder if they ever hunt game animals?

    195gr @2880fps is insanely good. After 3-4 firings don’t you see case web expansion just above the belt? Could cause rechambering issues if the diameter grows to .5125-.5130”.
    You can also use a special collet die but that area isn’t supposed to be sized and can cause premature case head separation.
    Just what ive noticed with my experience with reloading 7mm rem mag. I tend to load as close to sammi max pressure as I can so I dont get above stated issues. Not sure what your brass life is with that hot load haha.
    Anyway I always find your videos very interesting and worth while to watch.
