I have a 9 year old son with autism. I've been married to my wife for 15 years now. I get my son up every morning, get his clothes, get his breakfast, stand at the bus stop with him. I'm there every afternoon to get him. my parents adopted me at the age of 12. i was put into their custody a year prior. before that, i was bounced from foster home to group home and back. i, vividly, remember thinking i would never have a family for the rest of my life before i was rescued. you all have no idea what it means to be discarded your entire life, only to find people who love and choose you. it's the definition of unconditional love.

I legally took my step fathers last name when I was 20. My father passed away when I was 4 but my stepfather earned that right. He gave me what I was willing to earn and I never did with out. WO0 yEAHHH biologically no it isn’t his child... but that doesn’t matter. You become someone’s father or mother after raising them when they had no one. When you take it upon yourself to take care of the child it doesn’t matter if your biological or not from that moment forward you are the parent.
@@Wonton422 actually he is kind of right,my father and mother broke up when i was at a very young age but this wasnt due to abuse,alcoholism etc, it was just that they didnt love eachother anymore, now my father loves me,cares for me and does everything in his power for me and same with my mam,now my mother is engaged with another man and while we have great times etc,i dont and will not consider him my father,just a step father but i dont even think of him like that sometimes, i just see him as that funny uncle or something of the sort, so by what he was saying he is kind of correct it just matters under circumstances and how u feel yourself
