I wouldn't say it's necessarily growing up, more or less just expanding to more than just one genre or style. I prefer this over their newer stuff though, but I don't condemn them for branching out.
Ghost22446 Yeah It seems Unconditional was a phone in. A couple of decent songs but it just seems cookie cutter after The Hollow and Challenger.
i agree, unconditional was nothing compared to those two. i actually njst saw them earlier tonight, and thdy still take pride in their old music. they played this and be careful what you wish for just because a fan asked them too.

Why does everyone have to be so rude. You can like their old stuff more without insulting them. They changed, that's what people/bands Do. It's OK. Please don't insult them because they changed, they didn't become shitty, they changed. That's it. Change happens.
+ArrKayCee Yeah change happens but it's double sided it can be good change or bad change. MMF for sure changed badly. The instrumentals on Sleepwalking and The Hollow were actually phenomenal but Matty eventually changed the entire dynamic of the band and now they're really generic.
childofbhaal Bad is subjective. They changed for the worse in your opinion, I still like sleepwalking the most but Challenger and Unconditional are still good IMO.

+ArrKayCee I swear, the first album is ok at best based on what well structured metal sounds like. But they've been making shit ever since 2011. Some bands within the metal genre are giants and some are ants. But yeah.
He is a real musician. He sings, and sings well. He plays guitar, piano, and drums. He doesn't write his music, so you can't blame him for the songs not being very good. He is not a great songwriter, but he is a world class musician. I honestly think that his voice (not the old teen pop stuff, but his post-pubescent voice) would work pretty well as the clean vocals in a heavy band. He doesn't show it often, but he has a good tone to his voice when he belts.
I love this band, the sound is so original. And I like that the guitarists actually play and it's not all just palm muting.
I remember listening to this song during the credits to Saw 39.

Accidentally found this song when I was browsing at internet cafe, someone who used the PC before me forgot to clear his history browser. It was around the time when they just dropped The Sinner MV. Idk I just feel like listening to bands and songs that I enjoyed a lot around 2004-2015.

Rise, the two albums they released under it (especially Challenger), and Warped '12 is what made them successful. I love this band. I loved this sound, I love their new band. They're one of those bands who could get a new vocalist without anyone complaining, they're one of those bands who could change their sound, without anyone complaining.

wizmalibusunrise93 There are 2 different copyrights for music, SR and PA. Trustkill owns the SR to this record, meaning the recorded and mixed sounds. MMF owns the PA, the actual written music and lyrics. They can play any of their songs any time they want. However they might not want to play old songs because 98% of their current fanbase started with The Hollow and Kellen does not speak too highly of Sleepwalking and the EP with Chase on it. Even though I think those 2 CDs are better than all the Rise stuff.

funny how you say they will evolve. they've kept the same generic metalcore sound for 3 albums now. "oh but they added keys / synth / ambient noise" yeah, like thats never been done before. at the very least they still have good musicianship. all their rise records albums still have technicality when they're not playing breakdowns. but nothing separates them from any other band. i dont understand why they wont bring back the southern sound into metalcore. no other band does that rn! it would help them so much!
It wouldn't help them with sells as their album hit #4 lol, but I agree I think if they put some of their newer generic songs and then some of this kinda style on a new record it would be a nice change.

Jake 1 They left trustkill because of some internal conflict between them and trustkill. Rise didn't make them become generic, they just changed as they signed to rise. I wouldn't call their new music "shitty either." It definitely isn't as good as what they put out before The Hollow, but it isn't bad.
Well they had a disagreement with their last record that they couldn't express their beliefs more that's why they joined rise and they aren't their lyrics are more meaningful now then some of their old stuff
