getting back and listening to this song again since i was a kid is so priceless, now i am 23 yo, and the lyrics, the feelings, everything about this song is so relatable for me these days... i love it
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
I wouldn't say it's necessarily growing up, more or less just expanding to more than just one genre or style. I prefer this over their newer stuff though, but I don't condemn them for branching out.
i agree, unconditional was nothing compared to those two. i actually njst saw them earlier tonight, and thdy still take pride in their old music. they played this and be careful what you wish for just because a fan asked them too.
He is a real musician. He sings, and sings well. He plays guitar, piano, and drums. He doesn't write his music, so you can't blame him for the songs not being very good. He is not a great songwriter, but he is a world class musician. I honestly think that his voice (not the old teen pop stuff, but his post-pubescent voice) would work pretty well as the clean vocals in a heavy band. He doesn't show it often, but he has a good tone to his voice when he belts.
i remember when my mom told me her interpretation of this song. i love this song - so powerful. urging us to release the self-doubt and live our lives with conviction and purpose.
I'm so glad this bands finally getting the recognition they deserve. I've been listening to them for a year and they are by far on of my favorites. They deserve all the praise they get.
Accidentally found this song when I was browsing at internet cafe, someone who used the PC before me forgot to clear his history browser. It was around the time when they just dropped The Sinner MV. Idk I just feel like listening to bands and songs that I enjoyed a lot around 2004-2015.
LYRICS I am the air on your lungs And the blood in your veins I am all the voices you hear And I will never go away The deafening sound you hear Is coming straight from your mouth Choke on your words your so shallow Bite your lip! Why does everyone have to be so rude. You can like their old stuff more without insulting them. They changed, that's what people/bands Do. It's OK. Please don't insult them because they changed, they didn't become shitty, they changed. That's it. Change happens.
+ArrKayCee Yeah change happens but it's double sided it can be good change or bad change. MMF for sure changed badly. The instrumentals on Sleepwalking and The Hollow were actually phenomenal but Matty eventually changed the entire dynamic of the band and now they're really generic.
childofbhaal Bad is subjective. They changed for the worse in your opinion, I still like sleepwalking the most but Challenger and Unconditional are still good IMO.
+ArrKayCee I swear, the first album is ok at best based on what well structured metal sounds like. But they've been making shit ever since 2011. Some bands within the metal genre are giants and some are ants. But yeah.
I remember I hear this song after a surgery 😂 I fell from the stairs of my friend's house, I was too drunk. I just woke up in the hospital, with a part of my head bleeding, the doctor told me that I was fine and my mom and my brother back me home, and I slept a little. The first thing I did when I woke up was watching some movies, I found SAW VI, and I found the music videos, Minutes before I felt sad, but when I heard this fucking banger I felt adrenalin, it was just what I need to get better, and feel stronger.
Anyway, joke aside, I really feel sorry for Drake for what he went through as a teenage kid. I’m praying he’ll be healed and stay strong. Also praying for others who have gone through the same horrible ordeal.
DaniFashionLol Sorry but heck nooooo you're giving BMTH too much credits... BMTH was epic in their prime with Pray For Plagues and such but they went down hill after Suicide Season.
You guys insult this band on blind skepticism..... This band changed my life. There first album was so poetic it should have had of gotten an award. go read the lyrics or actually list to "all" there songs before you judge. not every band can produce a bunch of songs that everyone will love. but they do what they love and help who they can. Please internet trolls just back off this one. Your wrong
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
I've been a fan since they left Trustkill and signed to Rise. Though I prefer their older music such as this, I still think they are an awesome band that stands out. I feel that Between the Lines was their best, but to each their own. I say keep up the good work MMF and keep doing what you love!

It wasn't in the movie, there was an option where you could hear all the soundtracks from the movie, like in the main menu title, where you set up language and that stuff
funny how you say they will evolve. they've kept the same generic metalcore sound for 3 albums now. "oh but they added keys / synth / ambient noise" yeah, like thats never been done before. at the very least they still have good musicianship. all their rise records albums still have technicality when they're not playing breakdowns. but nothing separates them from any other band. i dont understand why they wont bring back the southern sound into metalcore. no other band does that rn! it would help them so much!
It wouldn't help them with sells as their album hit #4 lol, but I agree I think if they put some of their newer generic songs and then some of this kinda style on a new record it would be a nice change.
wizmalibusunrise93 There are 2 different copyrights for music, SR and PA. Trustkill owns the SR to this record, meaning the recorded and mixed sounds. MMF owns the PA, the actual written music and lyrics. They can play any of their songs any time they want. However they might not want to play old songs because 98% of their current fanbase started with The Hollow and Kellen does not speak too highly of Sleepwalking and the EP with Chase on it. Even though I think those 2 CDs are better than all the Rise stuff.
Jake 1 They left trustkill because of some internal conflict between them and trustkill. Rise didn't make them become generic, they just changed as they signed to rise. I wouldn't call their new music "shitty either." It definitely isn't as good as what they put out before The Hollow, but it isn't bad.
Well they had a disagreement with their last record that they couldn't express their beliefs more that's why they joined rise and they aren't their lyrics are more meaningful now then some of their old stuff
Holy shit memory just unlocked. I remember listening to this when I was going through a lot of pain in the family that I got away from. It's a great song and it helped me escape the problems a bit. Oh and he definitely looks like Drake Bell lol. We made memes about that but now that dude is facing charges of child endangerment.

Noah claxton thats just great xD

getting back and listening to this song again since i was a kid is so priceless, now i am 23 yo, and the lyrics, the feelings, everything about this song is so relatable for me these days... i love it
Your life is generic? Because these lyrics are super generic. You have the lowest bar imaginable
@@Happy93930 it's called nostalgia, I didn't care about it when I was a kid.
They need to go back to this sound
It's too bad young kids in bands cant make it in society anymore like this. There is so much passion in this album

12 years later and this song still has the goods
This Was The First MMF Song I Ever Heard :]
Same here and I love it.
Mine was miles away 🥺
That breakdown will get me everytime
I love this band, the sound is so original. And I like that the guitarists actually play and it's not all just palm muting.
MMF may be one of the only bands that changed their sound and their fans still stuck with them. HIGH FIVES TO ALL OF THEIR FANS!!!!! WOOOOOO
I remember listening to this song during the credits to Saw 39.
Saw 39 lmao
No one else like this comment. It needs to stay
@@blackopsexpert001 really hope you made this comment when it was at 69
I miss this MMF.

I miss the times, when Memphis May Fire used to be a southern metalcore band.
bands just grow up
Kiro AWZ ...and some bands just become worse.
I wouldn't say it's necessarily growing up, more or less just expanding to more than just one genre or style. I prefer this over their newer stuff though, but I don't condemn them for branching out.
Ghost22446 Yeah It seems Unconditional was a phone in. A couple of decent songs but it just seems cookie cutter after The Hollow and Challenger.
i agree, unconditional was nothing compared to those two. i actually njst saw them earlier tonight, and thdy still take pride in their old music. they played this and be careful what you wish for just because a fan asked them too.
This is like the 'Knives and Pens' music video meets the 'One' music video

This song is better and more memorable than Saw 6 was.

LYRICS
I am the air on your lungs
And the blood in your veins
I am all the voices you hear
And I will never go away
The deafening sound you hear
Is coming straight from your mouth
Choke on your words your so shallow
Bite your lip!
Bite your lip when you hear it
Hold your tongue
You gotta hold your tongue
Don't be so blind
Time is not on our side
Look me straight in the eyes
Do not say you will be alright
Put it all on the line
And for a minute the earth will stand still
I am the ghost
The ghost in the mirror that re creates
Painting your soul with every color you hate
I am the voices that you hear
And the decisions you make
I am the air that you breath
And I will never go away
I will not carry you through
Is that what scares you the most?
My friend, you fooled yourself again
Into thinking it's real
They can not save you like I can
They can not make you feel
Swimming in regret
But the water is much too deep
This is your very last breath
Chose your words carefully
I am the ghost
The ghost in the mirror that re creates
Painting your soul with every color you hate
I am the voices that you hear
And the decisions you make
I am the air that you breath
And I will never go away
Save yourself from the lies that brought my father to his knees!
OH!
Don't be so blind!
Time is not on our side!
Look at me straight in the eye!
Put it all!
