For those who were wondering the guitars are Fernandes Monterey Elite's.
Thanks for the support! Come see us on the Chariot/Greeley Estates Tour!
This is my favorite album of all time. I wish Memphis May Fire was still like this. Less scene kids.
? I don't see any scene kids liking Memphis May Fire now, other than Matty Mullins/Miles Away fangirls.
Well yea. And there are a ton of them.
***** - If you did not notice scene kids now turned into hipsters with gauges, glasses, tats and shorter hair. So there really is no difference between them just a bunch of try-hards to look interesting.
Fullcollapse1 Well, like I said, all I see are wannabe MMF fans who're just on Matty's dick, and act like Miles Away is the best song ever.
***** Is there something wrong with being a teenage girl who listens to this? I mean obviously some people are overkill, but I do love this band and music.
Still there best album to this day. They should really consider getting back into Southern metal
agreed, the hollow was good too but this one had a vibe that hasnt been matched
Truthfully told I love southern metal
I miss southern metal
oh man, everything in this band is awesome! i mean the lyrics, guitars, drums, especially the vocals! he has a very nice voice and a very natural scream that you can understand what he is saying! this band is perfect!
Come sing along to this song and others off of Sleepwalking this Feb/March with the Chariot, Greeley Estates, Inhale/Exhale, and the Color Morale! Now go! You've got some lyrics to learn!
My dad only listens to country, he walked by as I was listening to this song today and said "Holy shit, bout time you start listening to good music." 0_O he even finished the song with me and continued to listen to the album. this band is life changing lmao
I love how they have never came out with a bad song in 2 EPs and 3 Full Lengths and still every song is amazing
Why the fuck wasn’t I listening to this 15 years ago when I was 18?
Why are their guitarists so amazingly awesome? Why!?!?!?
I am totaly proud to say that the leader singer in this band is my cousin. no joke. love you matt. ur awesome. hope to see you soon!
-kayla- =)
Wait really?
Opened up for these guys bout a year ago in a venue that held 350 max and it was one of the best shows i have ever seen in my entire life...and i have been to/played at hundreds of shows...absolutely amazing:)
i love this album so fucking much
me too, one of my all time favorites ❤
Anyone else think that the guy whose life is being described looks like Stevie T?
Alex Wright IKR
holy shit yea xD
was about to say the same thing
Alex Wright Damn it you're right lmao
Oh no, he really does!
The line "Oh please look me in the eye next time you stab me in the back" always reminds me of an episode of Firefly
i dont understand the music videos of songs from the 1st albums of metal core bands :/ its like they're trying to tell a story but the story isnt clear since it switches from the band playing to the story every 5 seconds
I want everyone to look at their studio updates he tells you why the southern sound was holding them back.
I loved their old sound :/ I may be in the minority of people who still thought Challenger was a decent album (I enjoyed it more than most people I talk to), but I'm pretty certain I'm in the majority when it comes to disliking the direction they headed after that. I'm all for bands evolving, but they turned so preachy.
Yeah me too. Miss their old sound.
I like how he's "preachy" but Challenger was definitely my favorite! 😉🙌🏻
They're "preachy" because they're a Christian band lol.
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
Yup, I stopped listening after challenger. I'm glad that I saw them live back then.
FINALLLYYY!!! a new sounds :) ive been searching for something new for a while.
One of the gems of mmf
Back when they didn't sound like every other band....
Ya they sounded way better in this album. then all that success went to their heads.
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
They sound like Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.
At least we have a few good albums
their whole album is amazing, love this band :D
It's 2020 and I miss and enjoy their 2010 stuff more...but I'm ok with their new stuff I just hope they release a new album this year maybe try to go back to their old style, you know? Start the decade off right. I understand they may have matured as a band but it's not a bad idea to refresh an "old" style
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
You know what this is missing? 15 seconds showing the song you're about to listen t- OH nevermind, they did it.
these guys are sick. theyre really talented its really upbeat
If you're drummimg to Memphis May Fire with a lightsaber, you are cool no matter what
I personally started listening to mmf with the hollow and I've been looking at their older stuff which is as good as they're newer stuff
@NahhLate805 well...I remember they started off as Southern Rock, but I suppose there are alot of people who disagree with me, but I still hear the southern influence once in a while in some of their songs.
@tyejoe92 yea i saw dance gavin dance live about a month ago and i was impressed. first time i had seen jonny live. but yea ill look em up
1 vocalist does the screaming and the singing.. fucking impressive.
And one of the best bands out there!
Will always be one of my favorites.
This is such a good song!
good work.
is that guy stevie t???
football metal haha 😂
Badass video and song
@BlueDraconian
I would love it if youtube made that! What a great idea!
I just started listening to them lately and they're pretty amazing :D
never heard these guys until now...pretty good i gotta say...
Such a great song
i very love it when memphis may fire sound like southern rock mix with post hardcore
I have no idea how I came to hear of these guys (I'm South African), but good fuck, am I stoked that I did!
havnt heard much of this album to be honest.. but havnt stopped listening to The Hollow though, and cant wait for Challenger to come out in June... awesome band
i love this song!
i live in Charlotte, NC :)
love the breakdowns
so epic
@SocietiesJester i heard that August Burns Red only when youre travelling through texas in july
I really like the old MMF better. But there still amazing
Yes
@elephantesnumbrellas well... i was mistaken. nice job. i played a Michael Kelly that look really close to that! thanks man! now i can sleep at night.
its a shame man, because this was their best album...period, the newer albums will never top this one, the originality isn't there as much anymore, all chugs now.
3:46 EPIC guitar spin!!! Kudos!!
I hope this never goes away!
@2Kill2Live you can keep replaying this video all you have to do is go to this video and then up in the web address box click on it and after youtube put repeat!!
@Reptar952 i never said they were "pointless", and i was talking about the tags that are given to to bands that range anywhere from hard rock to grindcore, not all artists in music industry. labels like rock, jazz, funk, blues, electro etc are important to distinguish, but for such small and petty differences i dont understand why people spend so much time trying to strictly catagorize everything, espcially when it leads to artistic disputes, such as right now. let the music be the music :)
I don't like the music video that much, but the riffs and vocal melodies seem way better in this era than in their newer stuff. Why don't they play like this anymore?
because they sold out...thats why.
When they left Trustkill, their copyrights were stolen so they wanted nothing to do with the record label again, including having a similar sound.
Matt Cardinal Sold out my ass, you sound like you don't even know what a sell out band is.
John Jefferson They've been playing songs from Sleepwalking live this whole tour they've been on since the 19th or 20th of the start of the tour.
Yeah i saw them back then and they were sick live. Now not so much . It's because they decided not to be creative and be lazy . They saw that nowadays all you need is breakdowns, chugging, singing, screaming and rinse and repeat to get popular. So many bands do that now because they look for the easy way instead of challenging themselves musically.
they have one, that no other post-hardcore band have
DAMN GROOVE and individuality.
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
It is tragic if they no longer play the songs off this album. That's a Radiohead move. I love Radiohead but damn they are pretentious. Saw them live. No Creep, Karma Police, Paranoid Android, high and dry, fake plastic trees..... It would be great to see bands play everything. It adds to the shows. MmF have enough albums to put on a great well rounded show. This is their best work in my opinion.
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
omg this is their best album by far....holy crap
EPIC LIGHTSABER JAM SESSION
I really love this song nothing but the truth
@DeathcoreAtrocities well sir, can you play what they play? do you think our better than them? if they sucked then how can they keep a beat and stay in rhythm and tune with the stuff they play? explain this all to me, if you will?
I don't understand why everyone hates on the Hollow and glorifies the days before it. The band hasn't changed; they were awesome back then and they're still just as awesome now.
You my friend, are a saint.
@BlueDraconian Could you recommend any good 'Post Hardcore' bands?
good song!!!
Why have I not heard of this band until now?!?
How did they get that video of me listening to memphis may fire on my computer?
I miss their old stuff like this, so sick
@XmeliketocommentX Um are you talking brand, or type? At 1:53 its a les paul and the other guitarist im not sure but it think its a les paul too. No idea if its gibson, fender, etc
Both albums amazing, I prefer the Hollow but this is class too :)
Awesome
@ShiPshapeD00d i seen emarosa live back in 2007 with skylit drive and he did do some screaming for them and it was actually pretty good
I'm still getting into Memphis May Fire, and this song is awesome. But what was the song in the intro before the actual video?
Blues + Post-hardcore?!!! GOD YOU'RE GENIOUS! :D
Matty has been on every album and ep since Sleepwalking. Their old vocalist was only on the self titled ep.
Alguien sabe quien era el chico que hace los coros a lado de Matty en el video? // Someone knows who is the redhead guy behind Matty ?
Él es Kellen McGregor, es el miembro fundador de la banda, compone ambas guitarras, escribe parte de las letras y también canta. Se podría decir que él es el cerebro de Memphis May Fire.
Gracias!
If you watch the studio diaries, the snippets from them sound nothing like their southern sound.
I used to be friends with Matty Mullins on FB before he deleted it and he told me their last album was going to be southern after I expressed my disappointment in their last EP. The album wasn't at all southern, so it's like they believe they're southern still without realising how produced they sound.
NICE!!!!
Everyone likes all of Memphis May Fire's material, it's trustkill that everyone hates.
It sounds like every time I die, it's really good!
No, they left Trustkill and joined Rise Records before the release of "The Hollow" album.
@XmeliketocommentX no not everything that looks like a les paul is one, but is it wrong to use one?
Loooooooooooool. Hi mark.
Ahh Matty before he learned how to fry scream...
...and how to sell out...
@mrfreedomthomas how is it a contradiction? last time i checked pierce the veil isnt Deathcore
Sick band...I think the sound awsome...6*.
i think all there albums are kickass not guna lie.
so good at all-stars yesterday.c:
Saw these guys last night in Waco, TX. They are amazing live. I guess they aren't very well known around there, cuz there weren't very many people. I just wish they would've played ghost in the mirror tho....
=(
@TheLowPoint sooooo many guitars have that shape... Gibson and Fender are not the only guitar company. anyway i remember the name, its Michael Kelly.
Holy.......shit......First time i've ever hear these guys......I'm literallly speechless....
Greta start song for a great album!
omg such a great song. i wanna see them live sooooooooo badly, the footage i've seen is crazy, that screamer doesn't lose his breath or anything.
not sure i understand the video though...i should probably look up the lyrics right xP
@SocietiesJester TIJ, MMF, AA, OM&M, AND ABR are awesome man. I may look the others up.
yep so true but I enjoy listening to the old and the new though just the old is slightly better.
MORE MEMPHIS MAY FIRE VIDEOS!!!!
what kind of guitars do they use? i have played one before but cant think of the name!
Sick ass guitar flip \m/
@912jimmy could you please explain to me what makes this "devil music"?
This is gonna be random but I loved Sleepwalkings sound. And I've been looking for bands with that similar sound. Any suggestions?
Hey y'all my band is hoping to bring back Southern Metal like this but with a heavier edge. We just released our brand new song, "Imprisoned" and I would love to get your feedback!
the drumming,
well said.
