As a returning player who just got all of their gear optimized and set up again, I can say this is an absolute win! I can finally take my life back, and rid myself of this horrible addiction. Having my main builds nerfed back in the early days (Classic M1A, EB, etc.) drove me away the first time, and after returning I’m having too much of a flashback of that to continue playing. Anyways, enjoy the new balancing guys, get to grinding, and I’ll see you guys when Brooklyn drops, or Div 3, whichever actually happens lol

Scorpio nerf, St elmos nerf, striker nerf, providence nerf, obliterate nerf, picaros nerf, M700 nerf, trying to maximise proficiency, expertise and so on, using 500 exotic components to get them to level 26 only to come and nerf them and start all over again trying to find new loadouts and getting them to level 26. Every patch they release breaks half the game and then they come and try to render 3/4 of our loadouts useless. Are they trying to get rid of the remaining player base? Who asked for these changes?
What they appear to be trying to do is to differentiate playstyles and to make more of them viable. Look at the insane buffs to weapon mods for instance. They are clearly meant to push players into making hard decisions about how they want to play the game by widening the options that can cause the same weapon to play in very different ways. I guess changes in gear sets are meant to do the same: they noticed that certain builds were outperforming most of the others to the extent that they had become the clearly superior choice and they are trying to level the performance so that this isn't the case anymore. I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing. I'm just trying to guess the rationale behind these changes.
They are taking 10 bullets from the st Elmo’s engine 😑 that was one big reason it was known for. For the 70 bullets it held in one clip. They are literally changing aspects of weapons that make it the weapon, for what exactly?

Man I can get by picaros, I do 2x brazos for the mag buff 50% (thx god they didn’t mess with that..) BUT OBLITERATE?!!?? They coulda made it 17% for PvP and PVE 25% or MADE A PERF. OBLITERATE.. I just started 3 months ago and got my ninja 1-2 months ago, finally made a build survivable in heroic.. and then they rip my only gear talent away.. I need that obliterate at 25%.. now I’m just gonna be using catharsis or ninja umbra with 2x brazos.. so glad they added to every talent besides umbra

How do enemies refuse to die? Heroic is supposed to be difficult, just play on a lower difficulty. If enemies aren't dying to a few bullets on normal then you're doing something wrong.
I started 4 months ago.. I love ninja builds and I use brazos for mag size (2 piece with ninja.. I can get behind 10% wpn dmg for picaros… but OBLITERATE??? They coulda made it PVE 25% and PVP 17% and/or Added perfect obliterate.. nope just straight nerf.. now I gotta test out glass cannon for first time I can barely do solo heroic with few in between deaths now.. idek.

old favorites get nerfed and will be replaced by new ones that become viable. Rotating the favorites and creating hundreds of new builds. Content creators will have much to do now also LOL, The biggest thing they just did was to refresh the playability of the game. Builds are a huge part of what keep us busy in the game. I don't have many things I want or have wanted, no Eagle Bearer , Regulus, No Ridgeways Pride, I could go on, but what difference does it make ? If I still wanted something and it just got nerfed, well then I don't care anymore cus it got nerfed. LOL, There were many more Items from Div 1 I never got either. You either enjoy playing or you don't. The game was supposed to stop providing content a year or 2 ago. They were going to let it go. But they decided to stick around a little more and give those of us that stayed some more content. But you not going to see huge teams of people working on this 6 y/o game. And when they do come to us with ideas half the people like them the other half doesn't. They cannot wait for us to get together on a direction. I looked for a buff to another exotic AR to replace Elmo's and there was none. This is the kind of nerf I hate. It's the reason I left Destiny 2. Nerfing stuff and not even providing a good alternative.

Optimal Range. Looks like a LOT of ways to increase that, but what difference does it make? Given maps are mostly about close range engagements, and the game also only renders things out to a certain extent too. Unless there is something about to change on that as well?
Actually, Obliterate was subjected to an almost 33% nerf. It's an 8% absolute decrease over a 25% maximum stack bonus. So the max stack was reduced by about a third.
This is going to greatly affect PVP since they are not buffing any of the crit chance mods. It's going to invite a lot of people running high armor builds and pop shot is going to be more meta along with high armor shotgun builds are going to run rampant in dz And conflict. if they don't look at the attachments across the board for crit chance, damage builds will die out since they're already people complaining about bunk builds in PvP which means exotic attachments needs to be looked at across the board as well to even balance The damage nerfs on Brand sets.
Remember to allay kick people out of raids or incursions because that’s the way to play if that have no good builds because that’s the way to play soon

I was just saying mods need to give more of a buff to make it more worth it. Now you can really feed into a gun's strengths or hopefully mitigate their weakness by changing the mods. 5% just doesn't matter that much. but 10?15? 30? Now we're talking.

What they are doing is introducing new gear sets but then nerfing all the existing brand sets to force players to use the new shit, instead of just making the new stuff good and leaving the old stuff alone and let players use what they like, i doesn't make much sense especially making the rifles full auto, M1A full auto is just plain dumb because some of us like to time our shots and not use it like a fucking assault rifle.
Yeh M1A as full auto is odd. I know this game isn't for realism, but the reason I like the lightweight m4 as a rifle is I can act an element of it out with how assault rifles are actually used in real life - single fire. Very rarely, if at all, does full auto get used. Spraying constantly gets a bit mehhh in game. I literally just made a build on the m4 rifle and got back into the game. Nkw it'll be worthless lol.

Heroic missions are long enough with the stupid bullet sponging enemies - so you farm like crazy for all the best gear to get the mission done faster. Now they want to nerf it all! 🤬 Result - the missions will take longer! THEY WILL BE STEALING My TIME !!!!!!!! If they wanted balancing they should just give extra buffs to everything else. I've invested 2346 hours in this game and a whole load of money in battle passes and cosmetics 💲💲💲 When Season 2 arrives, I'll be off playing First Descendent.

Looks like they've been peeking over Bunji's shoulder. Which is fine by me. Destiny 2's season modifier set up has been cookin' for many years now. And D2 gave you a menu option to make all guns full auto. Imitation is the greatest form of flatery.
For me I like the semi auto rifles, more realistic to how assualt rifles are used like the LW M4 - single fire. It was my favourite. Yes I did just say realism in a sentence about div 2 😅

The ACS got buffed and the .45 vector got nerfed... LMAO the ACS is what got by far higher dps on the heartbreaker build (and give you insta max stats)... Like I wasn't even running the .45 vector on heartbreaker anymore but an AR for the longer range option.. and now they buff the ACS even more...
Finally! Thank god they give all the trash talents and everything else a buff. Bring back that diversity we had when the game first released... big moves and huge news holy cow!

Find a way to change one piece of gear to a red core and problem solved. Unless you run all red already. Then your out of luck. Sorry. 13% less damage does suck. Specialization would give you back 5-10% depending on what you may use and how you use it as well. All is not lost but they are lame for this.
Listen I’m a brazos mag size addicted gamer (I’m sad about 15 wpn dmg away from picaros.. but they left 50% mag size on.. I like more bullets in my guns and I’ve been heroic 1-2 months.. I’ve barely survived but…) OBLITERATE IS MADDENING!! I could understand if they made a perfect obliterate and kept perfect at 25% but now essentially I got catharsis or heartbreakers.. not both.. my ninjabuilds for solo world will never be the same, I COULD ALSO UNDERSTAND OBLITERATE PVP NERF WHERE ITS 17% in PVP but not PVE too
Finally smarting up these are div 1 passive like we use to have on a character an the guns that are changing were automatiic they should have left them alone Div 1 rules👍
I actually don’t mind the rework. I have most all these weapons and all the exotics I want, so I’m not grinding for anything. Plus I stopped playing back when they announced seasonal characters and released that last broken season, so this may bring me back just to test out the rework. Not grinding for stuff tho

seriously man, they nerfed pretty much all my most used weps, the scorpio, the st elmo, the L M4 and the ACR-SS both got ffing 10k dmg lowered!! SVD 27k lowered!!!! .... I mean many of these balances make sense but... please give me back some of my 999 invested exo components! ffs I'm rocking many of these weps on multiple characters... I have farmed my entire life away and now they expect me to do it all again for different weapons?!

Is the Oro even used for the talent? I don't think it is. I don't have it so Idk the talent. But basically Oro will be just a vector now. Vector will be better when you put killer on it. Dark Winter has perfect killer. So probably won't be seeing Oro be used anymore. But as a Bullet King lover, I'm gonna love that. That new Centaurions Scabbard will go really well with Oro The fully automatic rifles will be a beast in Descent.

Oh wow more viable chest talents but are still outclassed by obliterate, headhunter, etc.... maybe reduce cooldowns on them while increasing their effects. Brandset nerfs that are illogical when other brands have the SAME effects but are unchanged. And yet we also have gearsets in need of love that could've used some boosts. Clearly brands/sets/exotics put into a chart by use and blindly buffing/nerfing if under/over used. No foresight as all, love the game but start buffing over nerfing. What they are doing is introducing new gear sets but then nerfing all the existing brand sets to force players to use the new shit, instead of just making the new stuff good and leaving the old stuff alone and let players use what they like, i doesn't make much sense especially making the rifles full auto, M1A full auto is just plain dumb because some of us like to time our shots and not use it like a fucking assault rifle.
Yeh M1A as full auto is odd. I know this game isn't for realism, but the reason I like the lightweight m4 as a rifle is I can act an element of it out with how assault rifles are actually used in real life - single fire. Very rarely, if at all, does full auto get used. Spraying constantly gets a bit mehhh in game. I literally just made a build on the m4 rifle and got back into the game. Nkw it'll be worthless lol.
Man I've been using catharsis solo over coyote. That's a win. My striker and St. Elmo is not.
There's like, what maybe 3K players are still playing this game across all platforms and they nerfed the dog 💩 out of everything that's best in slot to force players players to play the way they want us to. Heroic missions are long enough with the stupid bullet sponging enemies - so you farm like crazy for all the best gear to get the mission done faster.

im very excited for the perfect allegro buff. the invisible hand is already one of my favorite weapons, now itll be even crazier. also the kingbreaker, heartbreaker, spotter, catharsis build in pvp is gonna be funnyyyyy
Looks like they've been peeking over Bunji's shoulder. Which is fine by me. Destiny 2's season modifier set up has been cookin' for many years now. And D2 gave you a menu option to make all guns full auto. Imitation is the greatest form of flatery.

Fully auto rifles is a plus. This seems broken though. This could lead to one shot kills with quite a few weapons.
For me I like the semi auto rifles, more realistic to how assualt rifles are used like the LW M4 - single fire. It was my favourite. Yes I did just say realism in a sentence about div 2 😅
Honestly, I’m kinda hurt because I feel like all the people that spent countless days expertise their gear through making new characters and grinding in the game are fucked so many of us have weapons that are expertise 20+ & now u nerfing some of our favorites 🥺

The ACS got buffed and the .45 vector got nerfed... LMAO the ACS is what got by far higher dps on the heartbreaker build (and give you insta max stats)... Like I wasn't even running the .45 vector on heartbreaker anymore but an AR for the longer range option.. and now they buff the ACS even more...
Heartbreaker was designed to be used with assault rifles and LMGs anyway so...maybe try hunter's fury or the new gear set?
Finally! Thank god they give all the trash talents and everything else a buff. Bring back that diversity we had when the game first released... big moves and huge news holy cow!

Find a way to change one piece of gear to a red core and problem solved. Unless you run all red already. Then your out of luck. Sorry. 13% less damage does suck. Specialization would give you back 5-10% depending on what you may use and how you use it as well. All is not lost but they are lame for this.

Listen I’m a brazos mag size addicted gamer (I’m sad about 15 wpn dmg away from picaros.. but they left 50% mag size on.. I like more bullets in my guns and I’ve been heroic 1-2 months.. I’ve barely survived but…) OBLITERATE IS MADDENING!! I could understand if they made a perfect obliterate and kept perfect at 25% but now essentially I got catharsis or heartbreakers.. not both.. my ninjabuilds for solo world will never be the same, I COULD ALSO UNDERSTAND OBLITERATE PVP NERF WHERE ITS 17% in PVP but not PVE too

I actually don’t mind the rework. I have most all these weapons and all the exotics I want, so I’m not grinding for anything. Plus I stopped playing back when they announced seasonal characters and released that last broken season, so this may bring me back just to test out the rework. Not grinding for stuff tho
They will loose alot of the player base with these nerfs. I hope they are ready!

lol… I put down Div 1 and Div 2 for years because it’s a smack in the face that devs nerf what I’ve spent hours or days farming only because they refuse to do their math when they first release the weapons and have to keep modifying. seriously man, they nerfed pretty much all my most used weps, the scorpio, the st elmo, the L M4 and the ACR-SS both got ffing 10k dmg lowered!! SVD 27k lowered!!!! .... I mean many of these balances make sense but... please give me back some of my 999 invested exo components! ffs I'm rocking many of these weps on multiple characters... I have farmed my entire life away and now they expect me to do it all again for different weapons?!

Is the Oro even used for the talent? I don't think it is. I don't have it so Idk the talent. But basically Oro will be just a vector now. Vector will be better when you put killer on it. Dark Winter has perfect killer. So probably won't be seeing Oro be used anymore. But as a Bullet King lover, I'm gonna love that.
That new Centaurions Scabbard will go really well with Oro

Brandset nerfs that are illogical when other brands have the SAME effects but are unchanged. And yet we also have gearsets in need of love that could've used some boosts.
Clearly brands/sets/exotics put into a chart by use and blindly buffing/nerfing if under/over used. No foresight as all, love the game but start buffing over nerfing.

All of this is bad. No one uses these weapons for a reason. They force us to use garbage as balance. No one landing shots because bad weapons means luck/connection determine everything.
