@@OfficialMediaKnights Thank you, Ari. It means a lot to me. I appreciate you and Denise so much. You're right when you say how devastating this senseless event was. Yet, at the same time, what came from it is, and was beautiful. Ordinary people, racing into danger to help total strangers, and becoming heroes in the process. All while not knowing if there was more dangers to come. Sacrificing themselves with the love of the human spirit. First responders, police, medical personnel etc. Many of the victims also went on to start charities to continue helping others to this day. This movie, Patriots Day shows all of this. It tells the full story, without having to add a "Hollywood" narrative to it. It is extremely well written, and directed. The acting, the score, cinematography, are all superb. Not to mention a cast of incredible actors. I hope you'll consider adding it to a future reaction. God bless! 😇💙💛

I work in an industry with one of the highest volumes of on the job deaths. The last job I was on with deaths was the largest job of is type in the western hemisphere, and it had a culmination of 20 different deaths on the job over a couple of years. Most times in my 20 years of experience, deaths and accidents happen when safety is disregarded or comprised because of money issues at the top, just like in this movie. The people at the top put heavy pressure on those below them to hurry up. That almost always comes at the expense of safety.

The workers at the heliport were the real employees of Bristow Helicopters and friends of mine. PHI helicopters did the actual flying for the real Deepwater Horizon rig and for BP but they refused to do the movie. As such, Bristow Helicopters did the movie.

Its raw, its real. Its a good tribute to the heroes, the victims and the evil greedy men that create problems for those honest people that just want to earn a living for themselves and their loved ones. Rest in peace. ❤😢

I also have a soft spot for movies that dare take their time to show us how things work instead of just glossing over the details to get to the "action". You're right that it's very effective. I read about the disaster, but you kind of gloss over it as another terrible thing that happened somewhere in the world, but when you see the movie you feel every second of it.

She said it was super emotional and especially when she was able to give Mr Jimmy a hug. She said when her character was able to hug Mr Jimmy it was a very emotional thing for her. For them both.

I always remember my late grandfather telling me about a similar disaster that happened in the 80s in Scotland. The Piper Alpha explosion was extremely similar to the Deepwater Horizon explosion. He was a rigger too and he'd tell me stories of it. Piper Alpha was arguably worse, as the platforms were all connected. When Piper Alpha exploded, it sent a daisy chain of fire to the connected platforms.
