They know it’s hard for victims to come forward with the truth, and especially when someone with a high-status is involved, they also depend on that victim not only not being believed, but being attacked by their large following. They are well aware of this, which is partly what makes them so dangerous. And sadly, the vast majority of the time, no victims ever come forward. Abusers thrive in silence, while victims cripple under it (through no fault of their own). And abusers amass more and more victims in that silence. What abusers do not bank on or expect, however, is for their victims to stand up to them and break their silence. For their victims to push past the enormous fear of backlash, not being believed, or just the pain of their experience, and STILL coming forward anyway, even if it takes them many years to do so. While what you are doing is unfathomably hard, it’s so incredibly important. Not just for you and the other victims who still feel trapped in silence, but for the future victims that will be sought for if silence continues. This is as much about you sharing your truth and healing as it is about preventing others from your same fate. That’s a very commendable thing. But I also just want to say, your silence (or the silence of any other victim) was never about complacency. None of this was ever or will ever be your fault. The abusers are the ones complacent in abuse, along with those who know about the abuse and enable it. The victims are just trying to survive and not face even more of the abuser’s wrath (or in this case the wrath of the abuser, their entourage and a large and very easily influenced fan base). Abusers bank on silence because they know it is the natural reaction for a victim. Silence does not mean the victim is weak or complacent, they are just trying their best to survive and make sense of what happened to them, which is why it is so incredible when victims are able to push back against that silence. You have no role in their abuse or grooming. None whatsoever. That is on them, and only them. Please don’t let yourself believe otherwise.

It kinda sounds like you're seeing Colleen as a bystander who just didn't have the courage to speak up and stand against the abuse that these people endured, and that is definitely not the case. Colleen got off on manipulating her young fans. They were/are tools and toys to her. She doesn't get a pass just because she's a woman.

Edit: I wanted to edit this to add that I still think at least part of what Johnny said in regards to Cory may be true. I’m hesitant to lean one way or another due to lack of evidence, but given how many claims there are against Cory, it wouldn’t surprise me. That being said, none of this justifies Johnny lying about anything, and his lies make the part of his story that may (big emphasis on may) be true a big question mark.

I was under the impression that Joshua was just another one of colleen's casualties. I mean, he was the first person that I witnessed her driving her bus over. Idk I’ve been a fan of Colleen for years and years and years but hearing stories like these just make me sad. The internet can be such a bad place. I have a hard time saying people are evil but education and laws need to be set in place...this isn’t normal. I hope Colleen takes acountability and apologizes because she obviously made tons and huge mistakes over and over again 🤷🏻♀️ I’m happy that you’re speaking up because this needs to be taken more seriously and more attention needs to be brought to this.
Thank you for coming forward and sharing your story, even though I know it’s extremely difficult for a large variety of reasons. Abusers depend on the silence of their victims. They know it’s hard for victims to come forward with the truth, and especially when someone with a high-status is involved, they also depend on that victim not only not being believed, but being attacked by their large following. They are well aware of this, which is partly what makes them so dangerous. And sadly, the vast majority of the time, no victims ever come forward. Abusers thrive in silence, while victims cripple under it (through no fault of their own). And abusers amass more and more victims in that silence.
What abusers do not bank on or expect, however, is for their victims to stand up to them and break their silence. For their victims to push past the enormous fear of backlash, not being believed, or just the pain of their experience, and STILL coming forward anyway, even if it takes them many years to do so.
While what you are doing is unfathomably hard, it’s so incredibly important. Not just for you and the other victims who still feel trapped in silence, but for the future victims that will be sought for if silence continues. This is as much about you sharing your truth and healing as it is about preventing others from your same fate. That’s a very commendable thing.
But I also just want to say, your silence (or the silence of any other victim) was never about complacency. None of this was ever or will ever be your fault. The abusers are the ones complacent in abuse, along with those who know about the abuse and enable it. The victims are just trying to survive and not face even more of the abuser’s wrath (or in this case the wrath of the abuser, their entourage and a large and very easily influenced fan base). Abusers bank on silence because they know it is the natural reaction for a victim. Silence does not mean the victim is weak or complacent, they are just trying their best to survive and make sense of what happened to them, which is why it is so incredible when victims are able to push back against that silence.
You have no role in their abuse or grooming. None whatsoever. That is on them, and only them. Please don’t let yourself believe otherwise.

What Kory did to you with that hotel room..wow..true gaslighting! What makes it so much worse is that they seem to be like 15 to 20 years older than all their fans. But I can’t blame you at all for looking up to them or wanting to be a part of them as a teenager. It has a certain appeal when someone older and successful gives a kid attention, and that’s why it’s so dangerous. I really appreciate your honesty and I’m sure it will help other people to avoid the same situation. I’m still seeing young fans on Twitter defending them, so it’s important that someone older can say “I knew them personally and they are not who you think.”
