I think you make the case for an invisibility cloak...or 20km torps? In a shima game only yesterday, my 20km torps took out 2 enemy dds in smoke, very satisfying.
Yeah playing torpedo focused destroyers does suck most times. I find myself either playing a herding/spotting role since a lot of ships either have hydro or just turn away.
There's also the fact that modern torpedo destroyers have some actual gun power (excluding Jäger of course), Halland and Cassard for example aren't pushovers in terms of guns.
I love my Shima and I use only the 8km torps. In the past 3 games I have played were well over 100k damage with 2 of the games with over 170k damage. To bad you don't play on NA and I would show you how I play the Shima with 8km torps.
@hrishikeshXXV there is more team work because 90% of players on NA all speak the same language. You can't fault NA for that. You should have NA is a better server to play on.
3:46 LOL that is the live of a DD player >_< It is even worse when the target you spotted get killed by your teammates before you can even do anything. I have been playing Hayate a lot lately and I think it is more playable than the Shimakaze, especially when you have the torp reload booster installed.
To be fair, the Cv was targetting you as you were spotting him. If I had a shima on me, I would play for the win by getting the DD killed over farming damage. That aside, I find torps boat difficult to play. Could be a Asia server thing, but I exchange for Minegumo and I struggled a lot with it. The short range torps are impossible to use with everyone just running away from you, the long range one is great with it's range and could get hits occasionally but that's about it. Strangely enough, I could perform decently well with an Asashio but not Minegumo.
@@Aerroon I like laying down the 20 klick torps at the start of the game for suppression and area denial and the 12 klick torps for closer in work. I've had the 20's hit stuff long after launching them and didn't even realize they were still running.
It does look like it's annoying. Those 2 ships at the end. Just sailing, and the torpedoes just keep coming and they keep on eating them. But I dislike the standard game, I only love the Key Battle/Big Hunt/Twilight Hunt game modes.
I got Yamagiri just so I can reset the Shima line for research buro points. I have free Xp-ed and reset that line 4 times so its about time to cash out. Going for Incomparable.
My first T10. Still my big love.
Got to love your sense of humor and how you phrase things
Thank you
I would like his humor too if I was in 7th grade
@@hrishikeshXXVyou definitely need to listen to Flambass, or Pq or Flamu because their "humour" is so mature..
I find it hard, to have great games in my Shima. So many radarships, plenty of hydro and the bbs know how to dodge torps.
i love your style of commentary, it just makes the video much more entertaining!
Glad you enjoy it!
"We would lose quickly, or the enemy would win quickly...." is there a difference? (0:48) lol
Oops, I meant that we would lose quickly or we would win quickly
To not use the AL Shimakaze voiceover while playing her is heresy
Trueeeeeeee

20 km torps cannot hit BBz that are on the move, only sitting ones
Yamagiri is allowed to have normal 20km torps, hence is much better than Shima

Nice!
NA is the easiest server to play on. You cant teach a EU player XD
I also use F3 torps. Problems are exactly as Aerroon explained - everyone keeps running away, you run after them and get radared or spotted by the CV

@jozseftoth9368 some do run from you and some do not. The Shima is fast enough to chase them down, I have no problem doing that
I just love how Aerroon pronounce Shimakaze. Can't explain why.
Do you mean the "Shima ka ze"?
@@Aerroon Yes
Exactly the same way I pronounce Shimakaze. 😂❤😂
I run the 8k torps exclusively, it makes for fun gameplay! Going back to 12km feels... weird.
The reason I quit wows , they killed torpedo boats .. 12 km okaish, 10 was impossible

Yeah, you're right about the CV. Just unfortunate for both of us!
3 years in the game and I'm just getting around grinding the Line (@T-7) Whatta Bum! LOL , How does it play in Ranked?. tyvm. take care @Aerroon
She plays OK in ranked, but definitely not the best one. if you want the best DD for T10 ranked then I think Daring is it.
@@Aerroon Check!!!
I retired my Shima in favor of the Yami that can swap between 12 and 20 klick torpedoes.
Yeah, I was wishing the same here. Being able to swap would've been so good.

Any way you can upload your videos in 1440p? 1080p is a little bit hard to watch.
Hmm, the upscaling does improve quality a bit, but only a bit sadly. I don't have a native 1440p screen or really a GPU capable of it properly so idk.
You get super expensive AL Shimakaze .. and don't even use AL Shimakaze captain !?
Yep! Mostly cause people complain when I use the anime voice overs.

Oooh. Nice! I hope you enjoy the ship!
I reset Haru and Shima lines in tandem , work well , as to T7 you play both as torpedo boat , in my opinion split should be at T8 in that line.
to is hard to have fun in this game these days.
well if you lose quickly doesn't that mean the other team won quickly it's not really a either, or . its fact and common sense.
