    Hi Carole, happy to see you are feeling better. It's great when things we make turn out well. How nice that Chris is so happy with his new shirt. I was able to finish two summer shirts this past week, yay! And today I helped a friend's daughter shorten a fancy dress. We took it from maxi to mid-thigh length. The material was a pain to work with but it is all finished and she is happy with it. Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing.

      Thank you Carol. Wow, shortening a dress by that much must be a challenge? Well done for attempting that and I'm guessing you had a lot of fabric left over 🤣. Glad you have been able to get back to sewing again.
      Some more fabric came today for Chris and some T shirts, any excuse to fabric shop eh?! 🧵😊

    Hi Carole. I’m glad my hubby was not present while I was watching this cos I know he would be requesting a t-shirt from the system. I’ll do some for myself first though. I’m currently away at our holiday home in Scotland and brought the system with me. Like you I have the facility to sew while I’m here, it’s a good job because I’ve injured my knee so exercise is pretty restricted (I was planning on doing jogging and cycling 🙁) and instead I’m doing rehab exercises (how tiresome). Anyway it’ll give me time to practice my Lutterloh although at the minute I can’t stand up for too long (additionally tiresome). In the meantime I hope you are recovering well from your arm operation and not overdoing things. Many thanks for doing a Lutterloh. Bye for now. ☺️

      Oh Ann, I am so sorry to hear you have injured your knee! I know just how awful that is as I have had two knee ops after running and skiing injuries. It just stops you doing everything doesn't it, what awful timing for you. You are doing the right thing by resting though and remember to keep it elevated!
      I am trying not to overdo things but it is really hard. Hope your knee improves soon 🧵😊x

    Thank you for the explanation about the Lutterloh system - it does look interesting and the t-shirt came out very nicely! There is a learning curve with everything - speaking of curves, I bought a French curve years ago and have hardly used it - wish it had dots like the Lutterloh one to help with confidence about placement. The top you are wearing is so pretty! Enjoy having the house to yourself for a bit - I always am happy to have a few days alone when my husband is on a business trip, as long as I know he is ok :).

    • @socarole66

      I think there is probably a real skill to using a French Curve properly, there are always so many magical numbers on it and angles etc. I only know as I said just to match up the dots 😂. Very interesting video. I would be inclined to remove the additional 3/4” on the next one to judge it against the first as it does look a tad high. This would increase your confidence in the patterns fit too. It would be interesting to make your own design up using the different patterns you have and seeing if it works out. X

    • @socarole66
      @socarole66  Місяць тому

      Hi Claire, can you just explain what you mean about removing the 3/4" I can't understand what you think is too high?
      I moved up the neckband to where my husband wanted it and similar to his normal T shirts. Is that what you are referring to? The original neckband went way below a chain he wears which he doesn't want on show. Thanks x

    • @clairerosey9921
      @clairerosey9921 Місяць тому

      Hi, yes it wasn’t a criticism as much as interest on how much difference it would make in the look. I’m one of those people who get annoyed by labels and anything touching my neck so there might have been a bit of subconscious bias on the neck height. If that’s where it’s comfortable for him then of course it should stay where it is 😊.
      Of course if you did try it you could get yourself a nice T-shirt to sleep in out of it 😂. That’s also a bit of a thing of mine… nice big T-shirts to snuggle up in!

    • @socarole66
      @socarole66  Місяць тому

      @@clairerosey9921 no worries at all I was just checking I hadn't missed anything that was obvious. I remembered now I had to re do the neckband as the original was slightly slimmer and he didn't like that so had to widen it. He obviously likes to feel like he's being throttled 🤣. Like you I don't like things too high up. At least that's the one alteration on patterns that is easy to do!
      As you say a T shirt is a T shirt so maybe I should just try it for myself using my measurements?!

    • @socarole66
      @socarole66  Місяць тому

      My husband has too! So I used the chest measurements and the hip as instructed by the system and it worked well as you can see. Normally if I buy my husband a large t shirt it just clings to his stomach and the XL is always just too oversized. This one he was pleased with as it's bigger yet doesn't look as oversized as the shop bought ones. Hope that helps 🧵😊
