Frrr. This is why I subbed to Faye. I swear I dislike the fact that other study tubers are just flexing on their aEsThEtIc stationery instead of actually giving tips
Other studytubers focus on aesthetic notes, act like they never struggle with procrastinating and distractions, and give the same basic tips all the time so you are a breath of fresh air because you’re relatable and give us practical tips!
@@betaniapillay2417 Sure thing! Do note that I was very dismissive in my original comment. I think people can pull off aesthetic notes, but there is a difference between actually studying and making sure your notes are aesthetic. When people spend hours and hours making sure everything they do is aesthetic, the merit of studying disperses; whether your notes are chaotic but readable or absolutely beautiful, you still learned the same things. I also believe that prioritizing aesthetics takes away from the general ambiance and natural aesthetic of studying. This aesthetic is one of sophistication and intelligence; forcing another onto it removes some of that joy, in my experience. I'm guilty of trying to aestheticize my studying, and it's quite aesthetic. But I always make sure to never let aesthetics come BEFORE studying.
"Sometimes besties, our wallet isn't as enthusiastic as our hearts." The most relatable line of my life. Thats why I always buy things which are useful for me I have never bought a thing just because it's trending THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO.
I've tried the cute stationary and notes techniques, but something I've realized, these trends make us copy what they're doing rather than what suits us and make us feel bad abt our study patterns. My black and blue pen for notes saves me alot of time and effort, I can enjoy other things in that time.
Well, I think that there’s nothing wrong with finding what works for you and teaching it to other people and seeing whether or not, it’ll work for those other people too. Because it might. But I think they’re real use for finding out other peoples tips is just finding out a way to think and approach these things in the first place, and then coming up with your own thing that’ll work for you. So yes, you don’t have to blindly copy somebody else’s technique, but it also doesn’t mean that you have to ignore the tips that are given to you by other people either, because it may directly or be indirectly helpful to you as well. The only thing I will say, is that try to learn these tips before the school Semester , lol. Because if you’re like me in the past, trying to learn in the middle of the semester so that you can give yourself some emergency rescue, it’s already too late.
@@Rosannasfriend I agree with what you've said, I take the tips and make it useful for my work, so I follow Faye, but the majority of the student's come under the spell of trend or the eye-dazzling notes, that they forget what they're actual purpose was to study and make it to learn easier, not to stress about it when it doesn't work out. Yuh you've to learn it beforehand and then normalize with your schedule, I've been doing calligraphy for 2 years now and I've dealt all these feelings and I know there's a grp who can relate to it.
The reason why she is better than other study youtubers is that her tips are actually realistic and helpful. Not like others, repeating the same tip over and over which Doesnt even work for all. Thanks Faye ❤❤
Whiteboards are very underrated in my opinion. I am not a fan of digital notes just because I’ve never really learned to get used to them. However I used my white board a ton. I also tutor and this is a life and time saver. I can do endless practice problems and review over concepts without having to use up more pages or use an iPad. One of my favorite purchases for school.
Love digital notes especially my ipad for math and data structures in algorithms. But even then, I want a bigger canvas to problem solve. I feel like the screen of my ipad is limiting me a lot.
Hi, maybe you should look into the Dutch brand correctbook! A correctbook is a whiteboard notebook that's erasable. You can buy them in different sizes and with you can easily unbind and click pages (plain, lined, to do list etc). I really like them! (English isn't my first language, so sorry for any mistakes😅)
I like how realistic this is as we all come from different countries and different family backgrounds. And seeing everyone use these super cool tech and stationery and how pretty it all looks, and we want to have it, but often it is way out of our budget. I have honestly removed myself (as much as I can) from these communities, as I found myself getting envious of those people or put myself down because I don't have all those things. So thank you for tackling this!
Aww I'm glad to have found someone who feels the same. With social media influence, it's easier to see our lacks especially if you're coming from a poor country like me. People who have the resources won't ever understand and would just dismiss it as "toxic", but truth is, not being able to afford things like these in the age of "everyone does it/has it on social media" does bring out those iffy feelings and that's totally valid.
@@kkaegeul Exactly. And removing yourself from that can be the easiest even if it can be seen again as toxic or being a hater. But as Faye said those things will not improve our actual abilities 😊 I hope both of us will work out these feelings and in the future be able to have these "luxuries" 💜
*REMEMBER YOUR SKILLS MATTER MORE THAN YOUR TOOLS!* I literally love you faye, and your way of telling us the right advice! As a student I blindly trust you for my upcoming session✨🌼( it's starting 15-20 days later) And I just loveddddd the way you continuously reminded everyone throughout the video how tools/stationary cannot make our results better without OUR EFFORTS! I can't think of any other way to support you so, it's been more than a decade of me never skipping any ad on your video, Liking it, sharing!❤️ In the end, just a big THANK-YOU!💫
Sometimes I feel guilty about owning an iPad because people usually view the iPad as a study tool and I use my iPad mainly for gaming. Due to trending videos about how good an iPad is for studying, I was slightly pressured. I hope people can understand that owning an iPad doesn't mean you need to use it only for studying or working 😅 There's many thing you can do with an iPad
I am binge watching study videos like this from my iPad. I ru through tv shows really fast in my iPad, too. Ironically, I bought it to annotate papers and uni research articles… but turn out that I ended up hating it, I prefer to read in paper. So now I end a whole battery every two days just watching shows hehe
I want an iPad so bad!! And I'm happy because the laptop that my mom got me for Christmas ended up breaking because it was from a dropshipper. She's getting a refund, so were gonna use the money to buy an ipad!!!
I use ipad as a work tool for commissions and as writing machine (wireless keyboard) No gaming, no streaming. Great for my eyesight issues when i put the text screen extremelly big in accesibility.
Another underrated alternative is a 2 in 1 laptop, i recently got a lenovo 2 in 1 laptop instead of an ipad. I noticed that its way cheaper than an ipad and its been really helpful in writing notes, annotating, typing and solving past papers. I also use Microsoft one note which is a free note taking app! I can also link my phone to my laptop and do sm more, honestly I think ppl often overlook windows just bc apple is more "tendy" (not undermining apple products by anyway) but honestly if you don't have money to spend on all the extra stuff that u need when buying an ipad, just get a recent model of a 2in1 laptop instead. Thank u for this helpful video!!💕💕💕
I agree! I bought a Microsoft surface with Windows software and a file explorer like a laptop. I would definitely recommend getting a 2 in 1 Microsoft laptop because some software programs that are used in my degree (physics/chemistry) are not functional on an iPad. So getting a 2 in 1 is definitely cheaper than getting an iPad and a separate laptop.
android tablets are also quite good, you could get a tab s6 lite for 350$, sure the display n performance are far from the best, but its great for note taking as the spen is built in.
Hi Faye, my 9th grade finals are going on rn and lately i've witnessed so much of techniques of studying along with/ the do's and don'ts so, it's kinda not exhausting and stressful at this moment. You are unique and this is why I choose you over any other studytuber, tysm 💓💓💓😊
For those of you thinking about buying an ipad, I think the samsung s6 or s7 is a better option. The pen comes with the tablet, all the apps you will need are free and the battery life is really good! (i charge mine once or twice a week)
A 2-in-1 is also great and what I use!! I can type on it as a laptop and also write with a pen...I find that on the iPad I'm more restricted in how much I can do, but this is easier
I actually had the Samsung tablet s7 FE and I really loved that it came with a pen and it was great! Really great screen and good battery! Replacement pen nibs are like $5 on Amazon for like 4. But I decided to also get an iPad and I used the iPad more than the Samsung tablet because I liked the aesthetic look and the tap of the pen on the screen 😅 everything I own is Samsung but I liked the apple iPad. Both were around the same price to. But I guess it's just personal preference. I've since sold the Samsung tablet, but both were pretty good options!
@@nachorodriguez145 the pen. It’s not as good but I also draw so that might be a part of it. It’s probably fine for just note taking I guess. I just prefer it. I ended up getting a MacBook too for school because I loved the iPad so much and they work well together
@@Katesaprincess yes I agree the apple pencil is better, although I changed the tip of the spen from rubber to plastic, which was literally a dollar at Samsung, and it made a huge difference. If someone's just gonna take notes I'd say the extra $100 is not at all worth it. If you work with your laptop or phone however, I'd say go for the same brand, the ecosystem makes everything a lot easier
MY grades started improving once i started watching you I got a 100% in math which I never had before a 92% in french and I was failing it on the previous term and 88% in science when I never get more than a 75% Your tips are so unique and helpful! Love you Faye
Hey Faye! As someone who used to make study videos, those people aren't studying in bad lighting, they just lower the camera's light sensitivity. It basically produces a darkened and more 'aesthetic' feeling on camera. Great tips btw!
As a nursing student who also has to work full time, cute and pretty notes don't exist lol thank you for a realistic study channel. 1000% swear by my white board helping to organize notes. Rewriting notes helps with recall as well!
I know these things aren't really important to studying but the study community really got to me especially during the MCO. Thanks Faye for the reminder, I have done well even without these things so I should just focus on understanding my classes. The recent videos will really be helpful for next sem. All the best in your studies too ❤
I had a 10th gen iPad ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . Felt it getting pretty slow at times even after doing a reset. So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.
“Sometimes bestie, our wallet isn’t as enthusiastic as our hearts” 😂😂 this is why we love you! You’re so funny and honest! I always get the best study advice and stationary tips from you so thank you! Hope uni is going well! ❤
Another good alternative for an ipad is a cheap drawing tablet. You can get a decent one for like $20-50 and they are great if you want to mainly type your notes but feel like drawing something could benefit sometimes (best use case would be in onenote). There is a bit of a learning curve because your writing appears on a surface that you aren't writing on, but after that, it's great. They also have better ergonomics since you don't need to look down to see what you're writing. If you don't want to carry around a separate thing in your bag and are looking for a new computer, a 2 in 1 laptop could also be a great alternative. It works like a laptop when you need it, but you can write on it too.
Faye, I just love how short yet meaningful your videos are and how you fully explain each and every point you are talking about. Btw thank you for the video💕
Hey Faye. I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while now, and I’m so happy I did!! My marks have significantly improved and I’m so glad. My finals are going on right now and I’ve been doing very well till now! Also, thanks for your honest opinion and great video!❤
I honestly really love your videos. Whenever I’m taking a short break between study sessions or I really don’t feel like sitting down at my desk to study, I always watch one of your videos. They always make me feel so motivated to study again and to push through just that one chapter more. Thank you for making these videos and actually improving my study methods❤
Thank you bestie! I actually have an IPad and I won’t say it isn’t useful at all but honestly it isn’t really a necessity and one could do well without buying it too. “Sometimes besties, our wallet isn’t as enthusiastic as our hearts.” Gosh!!! Someone give her the MOST HONEST AND RELATABLE UA-camR award!!!!!! Love you Faye 💜
Hi! I’m in middle school but I just wanted to share my opinions. For iPads, personally, it’s difficult to write on it, so I prefer writing on paper in general. I don’t think expensive markers are necessary, I mean if you have the money go ahead, but I just have sharpie highlighters and they work perfectly well for me. 💗
Faye, thank you again for uploading. You have always motivated me to my goals and I cannot express how much I appreciate what you do for all of us. We love youuu.
Hey Faye! This video solved so many doubts! And also helped my prepare for my next academic session in April with improvemts. The part about the wallet and enthusiasm is so true lol. Ty for addressing and featuring my comment. Also, all the best for your future projects 💫 Thankss
the whiteboard one was rly useful, around new years i had alot of exams and spent alot of paper for planning and jotting down stuff so i decided to get a whiteboard probably like a medium size and i hung it on my wall like right above my desk! its rly useful and saves paper and time and very fun to use ngl
i am not a student but an adult who studies the korean language as a fun hobby. i find handwriting things on my ipad interspersed with typing and shadowing (speaking the words aloud along with or right after the audio file example) works for me personally. i seem to retain more when i write or rewrite notes, along with shadowing. i'm writing a very different language and i constantly have to erase and rewrite it so it is legible for me to read later plus i loved the idea of digital handwritten notes and how you can copy/paste and rearrange whole sections after the fact which is not the same on paper hard copy. i do utilize a mini whiteboard sometimes to practice writing a word over and over until i get the spacing write on each syllable. i do use apps to study on my phone or websites on my laptop, too. as they say a variety is best to learn material. even if it is the same things sometimes a different method will help solidify a point that another one wasn't giving you.
Hey Sister, I'm impressed by your work you're really doing great... Can you make a video on : I actually want to study hard but sometime it doesn't feel to study so how to overcome this please tell me I was the topper of my class but now I'm not in a topper batch and I'm so much demotivated 🥺
I really appreciate that you are willing to both give honest reviews and suggestions, as well as explain the full cost...including the hidden costs. I feel like money is something that people do not talk about. Especially with the example of the iPad, it is something that I have thought about for awhile, but I know that there are hidden costs. The breakdown really helped me understand what was involved in that to make a wise financial decision.
Not sure others have mentioned this before, but I noticed a little mistake in the calculation of the iPad cost when you counted the cost of iPad twice, so the total estimated cost should actually be 744 USD instead of the 1202 USD. But great video! I love how organized you are in listing all the pros and cons.
Mildliners are pretty but they are recommended for people who hate the neon highlighters. Mildliners are highlighters but have duller pigments. You could also try Crayola super tips. The colors are almost identical, you would get more color options and are cheaper
3:47 I think that you could actually just buy an iPad case that has a connected keyboard or an additional Bluetooth keyboard to type easier. Though it is not ideal to spend additional money on a keyboard, I think mine is quite worth it… the disadvantage of it is that if you drop it ( the Magic Keyboard iPad case from Apple ) the sides might break as it’s not protected… so in conclusion I think it’s great to buy a Bluetooth connected keyboard. Hope this helps!!❤️❤️❤️
Honestly a few years ago, I would always feel unmotivated because i don't have these aesthetic supplies but then I realized that's it's stupid to dedicate all of your studies over something you're just gonna write with. Yes. I do find that making pretty notes is actually motivating but you could do that with just any pens and marker's around. Instead of trying to buy all these supplies you see online you should put in effort and then you will realize how it's not necessary for all the things you see on the internet. I am tempted to get the treadmill desk item since I feel like i'll get in a bit of exercise while also studying. Nice video, it's a great thing that you had alternatives for each thing
Hello Faye, My exams are going on and I am using most of your tips! They are helping a lot! Day after tomorrow is my biology exam and after using your tips I am confident that I will do well...I'm happy I found your awesome channel, thanks a lot for helping me❤
Hi, maybe you should look into the brand correctbook! A correctbook is a whiteboard notebook that's erasable. You can buy them in different sizes and you can easily unbind and click pages (plain, lined, to do list etc). I really like them! (English isn't my first language, so sorry for any mistakes😅) (price around 20 euros).
@@saulinglaw6408 thanks for recommending it, I will surely check it out. And don't worry about your English (it's perfect). And English is not my first language either
Another thing to consider for the ipad/tablet! If you travel a lot, like be, digitalising your notes and textbooks can save you space and your back since you don't have to carry it all! That was the only reason I got a tablet (android, not an ipad, since I don't own any apple products) with a big screen and it was the best decision ever! I don't ever plan on writing my notes digitally, but doing them on paper and turning them into pdf works well for me. Another tip, scanning with an app like Adobe scanner (free) from your phone is a lifesaver! No more waiting in like, carrying flasdrives around and so on
0:24 on the stationary thing I think it’s best to figure out WHAT about their aesthetic notes actually draws you in and adapt that to what you can/will use. I paid $3 for a 4pk of highlighters and I got a couple cheap sets of red ink and blue ink pens and a pack of small post its. Like I’m set.
Hey Faye ! Hope you are doing great Thank you for your efforts I tried the Korean study routine (inspired from you) and completed studying a whole subject which was pending for me I was surprised l got my one year worth work done But it was tiring l was not able to wake up the next morning Thank you for trying your best and working hard for us I am planning to start a UA-cam channel ( inspired from your video) Lots of love from India💞✨ Sorry for the big message 😂 Waiting for notification
I own an 9th gen iPad with an Apple Pencil and Logitech keyboard to complete it (that way I can type my notes when needed) and watching all the study videos made me feel like a base iPad wasn’t enough for college and you had to own an iPad Pro or air, because the screen is bigger or they support Apple Pencil gen 2. But the base iPad is more than enough for me, it’s way more affordable than a pro and I think it should serve most students well.
This video came at the perfect time. I myself was on the fence about whether to purchase some of the goods mentioned in the video and the Ipad pro. All in all, this provided a clear view and guidance. I really appreciate your help.❤
This is what I like most about her content. She's not only honest but also gives useful, practical tips that I haven't found on other studying channels. ♥️
This video is perfection! I am a sucker for following the trends, but I have used “alternatives”. I do have an iPad, but I have an 8th gen and it works well. I also use the candle method, but I take 2-10 minute breaks in between so I don’t get burned out (no pun intended)
I'm gonna add my two cents because why not. I'm also gonna include some other things that help me. iPad: Buying an iPad has absolutely transformed my studying. I love making my notes look pretty and I love all the colors and styles I can use without having to take a huge pencil case with me. I have the iPad 8 with 128 GB storage, but should've gone for 32GB as I have everything in the cloud and don't really use my iPad outside of studying. I did always plan on upgrading to an iPad air when I go to university so I knew my first iPad didn't have to be the best on the market. What I have noticed though, is that I'm a little more perfectionistic because it's so easy to change everything. I also know that my time will be more limited in university so we'll see. Organising system for digital notes: I have come up with a system that quickly shows me what I have to do in which note. It consist of the letters Q,W,A,R,H and P that you simply add to the title of your note. Q = questions so there is stuff in this note that I haven't understood yet. W = Writing so I want to edit my notes and make them more coherent/beautiful. A = Anki which is the flashcard app that I use. R = reading so whenever I have to read a text. H = homework and P = a presentation that I have to do. I also like to add the notes I still have to work on to my favorites so I can see them all at once. Anki: literal game changer. I use Anki on my laptop to create flashcards for active recall. Anki also has a system where you can select how well you know the answer and it will determine when you see the flashcard again (spaced repetition). Pro tip: if you have an iPad and Anki, you can make screenshots of your notes and use the image occlusion add on in Anki to quickly make flashcards. Paperlike: To be honest, I didn't really like the feeling of it. I had it for about a year, before I switched to a glass screen protector. I also noticed, that my handwriting is better on glass so I would suggest trying it beforehand. Maybe someone in your class has an iPad where you can test-write a few sentences. Mildliners: I have them and I like them. However, since having an iPad, I don't really use them that much because I don't use paper most of the time. However, I still like to use them in my exams or when I write to-do lists. Back when I got them, amazon had a pack of 25 for roughly 25$ which is an okay price for me. Back when I was still making paper notes, I loved them, but of course cheaper highlighters work just as well. Studying until the candle dies: I haven't tried it yet, but I would only recommend to do it with small candles and if you know you have a lot to do anyway. Pomodoro/Other timed method: Taking breaks is necessary while studying for extended periods, however I was never a fan of timed breaks. I'm more a go-with-the-flow kind of person while studying so I like to take breaks when I notice my concentration is leaving me. I also don't limit my break time especially when the deadline is still far in the future. Bluetooth keyboard: I have one, but honestly I don't use it that often as I also have a laptop which I usually type on. My laptop is small enough that I can take it with me to school so if that's an issue, maybe get a small keyboard so you can type on an iPad (if you have one).
Omg Faye!! You are an angel!! 😍😘 I was thinking of buying an Ipad but you came to the rescue and now i know you dont need any fancy stuff to show your best or to study! Thank you so much!! 😇❤️❤️ Edit: Dear Faye, Just know you are amazing and you make us happy in all ur vids and never focus on bad intentions.. Thanks so much for your effort!! 😄
Ive tried the "AESTHETIC NOTES, cute highlighters, brushpens and stuff" but I realised finding our own way and bring unique is the best rather than copying people and making ourselves feel out of trend or something
Thank you so much for doing this! I don't have much money to spend on the fancy things you see on tiktok and that, and I felt really demotivated. You made me feel motivated to study for my A levels properly again! Thank you so much, you're amazing ❤
Thank you so much Faye! My exams are going on and it's so stressful but u help me so much with being organised and actually studying... This is my final exam and my new session will start in April so this video really helped me because I always feel like I should have the cute stationary but then again like u said "sometimes our wallet aren't as enthusiastic as our hearts" 😂... Thanks for helping me when i was struggling ❤️❤️
I just wanted to say that the apple iPad has an app called Freeform and its free , u can use this app to take notes 2:56 , plus i don’t think you need to replace ur Apple Pencil cuz most of the time its either u tightened or loosened the lid ( bc i thought my Apple Pencil was broken for 1 week bc I didn’t use it for a whole month then i saw a UA-cam vid of how to fix it and i have had my Apple Pencil for 3 years now ) I’m also a student who uses their Apple Pencil a lot , she may have faced a different problem though. Other tip is u can buy the Magic Keyboard which is an iPad case with a keyboard ( yes it is pricey but u can buy a fake one which is a lot cheaper and will last for a year at least )
Faye always knows what we need :)) I was literally looking for good study supplies coz my finals start from monday and I’m gonna start high school this year! I should go study lol-
This video is amazing! When I first entered university in 2021 I had this studytube/studytok/studygram phase when I obsessed over aesthetic notes and study spaces. My obsession only extended to looking at them on social media because 1) I only have one (1) multicolored pen and I think it's already good enough for me, 2) I don't have a good handwriting so it's a waste anyway, 3) Stationery has always been something I like to look at, but never actually use, so I know it's a waste to buy them. It's good I never got tempted because I haven't written physical notes since entering university. I did invest in a laptop stand though, and in my opinion it's life-changing. And as for aesthetic study space, I just use Notion to customize everything!
I think that having two monitors is so helpful for me as a PhD student. You can get a relatively cheap second monitor setup, and I also tend to study and write papers almost equally on campus and at home. I think it’s a matter of finding what works for you :)
Yeah, I find it very helpful when writing papers or when working on assignments. I can have my word document or excel open on one screen and have all the stuff I am referencing etc on the other. I can still split the screen aswel but unlike when using one screen (laptop) everything is still comfortably big and I don’t need to keep closing and opening things.
She is the one who understand that everyone's wallet isn't same -- she understand Sometimes she tells something that is very relatable and helpful ,thats why I love her very much 🖤🌷
Your cost @ 3:25 seem wrong. You are adding additional costs twice? How do you calculate total costs? My calculation is: 460 + 290 = 750 USD. That's it.
Thank you for this video . I’ve always wanted an iPad since I’ve been seeing UA-cam study videos and the aesthetics and I loved it . I mostly write my notes and draw at times (medicine) since I like to visualize but this video made me realize I don’t really need it if I can’t afford it . I’d be sticking to my handwritten notes then
"your skills are more important than your tools." i had to write that down because that hits the point home; sometimes i think the study community in social media tend to heavily focus on aesthetics rather than practical ways & tips to cultivate one's study skills. this is such a valuable & timely reminder, thank you so much 🤍
Hi Faye! Im your country sister from Indonesia, I really find ur videos relaxing, I took my test on friday, and I think I got good results, I am having mid term tests right now, and ur advice really helps, thank you for your soothing voice!!
I have a touchscreen laptop and that really bridges the gap between an iPad and a laptop. The whiteboard idea is really great but there are a lot of really affordable touchscreen laptops! Good luck guys!
I’ve had the same iPad for about three years, so far haven’t had to replace the pencil tip or anything. I’ve had the same case, and the only things I’ve had to buy are apps for school and work since I teach piano. I bought it used from a friend. I really love the connectivity of it since it connects to my phone, watch, and now my MacBook (which I got as a present). There are also keyboards you can hook up to your iPad if you need to type. Highly recommend them.
Faye you are AWESOME. I really appreciate you for all you’ve done for us besties! ❤ Your channel is literally the definition of aesthetic, practical and Asian mindset friendly. 😂 I NEED THIS BRUTALITY IN MY LIFE 🎉
The last one really hits me lol. I don't specifically study without lights(I could never + I am very much aware of the risks). Although I do not follow that trend I have kinda read at the dark which results to me having issues with my eyes and later finding out through a medical check-up that I needed to get my eyes checked. During the test I was pretty shocked of what the eyeglass given made my eyesight clear. These past few months I was rlly having a hard time reading especially at class while my classmates are doing just fine. My vision indeed was not the same as b4. I think trends of this (studying in the dark) are very harmful and should not be taken lightly. Because as much as you think it doesn't hurt a thing or I'm not having a hard time sooner or later that would toll up on you and the next thing you know you are visually impaired. Do learn from my mistakes cause as you always hear, "prevention is better than cure"
Finally!! Someone out there who is actually giving tips on good ways to study. I'm so furious with all those "aesthetic" study tips. I tried one in 10th which is a board class in my country. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, in India, we have a (sort of) all-India paper in 10th grade and 12th grade by our respective boards, which is important. I almost flunked my paper due to them and wasted so much of my parents' money. Currently trying to find my own style of note-making. This video helped a lot, thank you❤❤❤
You saying about the study lamp.. I literally asked for a study lamp for my birthday.. I have always wanted it and I find it the most useful purchase I have bought in a while... Especially during exam season if I want to stay up late I don't have to on the main light and disturb my fam.. And it colour changes from golden yellow, white and daylight.. Absolutely gorgeous❤️
Thankyou so much Faye ❤️✨ People show have "that" student type thing but great UA-camrs like ✨you✨ brush off the very reality how the thing are Thankyou for your efforts, your tips are just so helpful and so realistic, that i just love it! ❤️❤️❤️
Faye I see that you're also an chemistry student, could you please like please like please make a video on how to study chemistry? Like share your own experience being an chemistry student and tell us what kind of chemistry student are you? I mean you can help so many of us!! Hoping from you
I bought an iPad when I was in my last year of middle school, and right now I am going to be starting second year of high school in April, I did not use the iPad much in middle school, but I use it a lot now for maths practice and science notes, so I guess buying an iPad just depends on one’s own study habits and the time at which they decide to buy it…
The reason why you are my favorite UA-camr is because you make relatable videos , as while studying things you told often happen and now after following your tips my marks are great Thankyou ❤❤❤ Edit: aww you replied can’t believe it
my cousin is 8 yrs old and he is in second grade, yet he bullied his parents into buying him an ipad pro. thank you for your honesty faye, this just purely proves my point. also, about the notes being messy, if you have a chromebook (idk about others, but mine has this) theres an app called cursive which is a very minimal and beginner like note-taking app so all your typed notes and hand-written notes can be inn the same place
For me personally, mildliners and tombo liners aren't useful at all. I understand that visual learners likes to see pretty notes, but I don't want to spend so much time on making pretty notes because at the end of the day understating what I studied is more important than having pretty notes. And for me, my black pen and one highlighter can does the same thing.
Maybe you should look into the brand correctbook! A correctbook is a whiteboard notebook that's erasable. You can buy them in different sizes and you can easily unbind and click pages (plain, lined, to do list etc). I really like them! (English isn't my first language, so sorry for any mistakes😅)
I'm writing my thesis right now and won't be a student in a few months... I'm gonna miss watching studying content on youtube aha, you've always been one of my fav
Your tips are really working with me. I am currently studying for lgs and these tips help me a lot. So thank you, you are also honest unlike others who focus on fancy notes.
I'm using an ACER Chromebook which is all together an iPad and a laptop, but I type out my notes instead of using my stylus to write the notes down. I recommend typing your notes instead as writing using your stylus is just a waste of time, and do not mind about getting your notes aesthetic, just make it neat. 。◕‿◕。
Hey Faye ! I've been watching your videos since 2021 and you have no idea how much you have helped me i just wanted to thank you for helping me keep my mental health stable. Have a great day 😭🙌
I think depending on your study and on how you prefer to study different types of things can be helpful. I personally like using paper a lot to take notes so I won’t be to distracted with trying to make all my notes neat on my laptop. However for writing my essays a second screen would be extremely helpful so I won’t have to switch between tabs all the time or have to split my screen resulting in small letters. I love love my different highlighters and tabs etc as I study lit and for exams/essays highlighting and tabbing my books is extremely helpful. Love the video !
I love how realistic and budget-friendly these tips are ❤️ I totally agree that just having stationery and tech doesn't get you good grades. Also when you said I see you i immediately straightened up 💀

There's actually a cartoon named pingu, i loved that show 🐧
She is the most realistic UA-camr who doesn't only give "basic" tips
Agree
🎉 yes🎉
Frr
Indeed, the way she gave tips for study make me have motivate in studies since last year and my academic starting to improve ^ ^
Hey bro don't accept the offer I bet it's a scam
Study to Success is the perfect example of this (dictionary definition of it)
Aesthetic notes IS a form of procrastination
@@firebird4269 Can you explain how? I'm just curious.
Thats why I always buy things which are useful for me I have never bought a thing just because it's trending
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO.

I've tried the cute stationary and notes techniques, but something I've realized, these trends make us copy what they're doing rather than what suits us and make us feel bad abt our study patterns. My black and blue pen for notes saves me alot of time and effort, I can enjoy other things in that time.
well said 👏👏
Same!!
I think the cornel notes work best for me! Pretty easy and nice!
The reason why she is better than other study youtubers is that her tips are actually realistic and helpful. Not like others, repeating the same tip over and over which Doesnt even work for all. Thanks Faye ❤❤
you're welcome ❤❤

Whiteboards are very underrated in my opinion. I am not a fan of digital notes just because I’ve never really learned to get used to them. However I used my white board a ton. I also tutor and this is a life and time saver. I can do endless practice problems and review over concepts without having to use up more pages or use an iPad. One of my favorite purchases for school.
I totally agree!

Yes I agree thanks heart
I like how realistic this is as we all come from different countries and different family backgrounds. And seeing everyone use these super cool tech and stationery and how pretty it all looks, and we want to have it, but often it is way out of our budget. I have honestly removed myself (as much as I can) from these communities, as I found myself getting envious of those people or put myself down because I don't have all those things.
So thank you for tackling this!
well said 💜💜
always happy to help ~
Aww I'm glad to have found someone who feels the same. With social media influence, it's easier to see our lacks especially if you're coming from a poor country like me. People who have the resources won't ever understand and would just dismiss it as "toxic", but truth is, not being able to afford things like these in the age of "everyone does it/has it on social media" does bring out those iffy feelings and that's totally valid.
@@kkaegeul Exactly. And removing yourself from that can be the easiest even if it can be seen again as toxic or being a hater. But as Faye said those things will not improve our actual abilities 😊
I hope both of us will work out these feelings and in the future be able to have these "luxuries" 💜
*REMEMBER YOUR SKILLS MATTER MORE THAN YOUR TOOLS!*
I literally love you faye, and your way of telling us the right advice! As a student I blindly trust you for my upcoming session✨🌼( it's starting 15-20 days later) And I just loveddddd the way you continuously reminded everyone throughout the video how tools/stationary cannot make our results better without OUR EFFORTS! I can't think of any other way to support you so, it's been more than a decade of me never skipping any ad on your video, Liking it, sharing!❤️
In the end, just a big THANK-YOU!💫
Yeah its not the tool, its how you v hole blast with it
Sometimes I feel guilty about owning an iPad because people usually view the iPad as a study tool and I use my iPad mainly for gaming.
I use ipad as a work tool for commissions and as writing machine (wireless keyboard)
No gaming, no streaming.
Great for my eyesight issues when i put the text screen extremelly big in accesibility.
@@XMillyyX
The ipad life span is 5 years
If you have spare money go for it so you can upgrade every 5 years
Another underrated alternative is a 2 in 1 laptop, i recently got a lenovo 2 in 1 laptop instead of an ipad.
I use one note , google keep and wps
Omg same, except now I have both a 2 in 1 Lenovo laptop and a expensive IPad 😅
android tablets are also quite good, you could get a tab s6 lite for 350$, sure the display n performance are far from the best, but its great for note taking as the spen is built in.
I didnt knew these laptops existed until 1 yr later after i bought an ipad lol
😢
Hi Faye, my 9th grade finals are going on rn and lately i've witnessed so much of techniques of studying along with/ the do's and don'ts so, it's kinda not exhausting and stressful at this moment. You are unique and this is why I choose you over any other studytuber, tysm 💓💓💓😊
thank you for your kind words ❤❤

I'm in 11th grade now and i'm kinda scared of any exam. Haven't written one yet

For those of you thinking about buying an ipad, I think the samsung s6 or s7 is a better option. The pen comes with the tablet, all the apps you will need are free and the battery life is really good! (i charge mine once or twice a week)
👆👆
I've since sold the Samsung tablet, but both were pretty good options!
what apps do you use on the tablet?
as someone that has a s7 its great! its easier to use too
Don't get an iPad, get a Galaxy tab (Samsung). It includes the digital pencil, apps are free and any other additional costs will be way cheaper
I’ve had it and it’s not the same as an iPad and you can get them for pretty cheap now
In what way is it not the same?
Whoever actually chooses a samsung tablet, make sure to choose a s variant as they are the only ones compatible with the s pen
MY grades started improving once i started watching you I got a 100% in math which I never had before a 92% in french and I was failing it on the previous term and 88% in science when I never get more than a 75%
Your tips are so unique and helpful! Love you Faye
im glad to see Faye’s tips have helped you significantly! do you have any of her videos that you’ll recommend? im also struggling academically 😭
All the best in your studies too ❤
thank youu ❤❤

Thank you bestie! Someone give her the MOST HONEST AND RELATABLE UA-camR award!!!!!! Love you Faye 💜
I literally got one cuz it was cheaper than a phone lol
We love youuu.

so happy to hear that it helped 💖
When she says "if you want to support this channel, please don't skip the ads" i just melt everytime 😊
I LOVE THE FACT of be watching her videos doesn't feel like a waste of time.
the whiteboard one was rly useful, around new years i had alot of exams and spent alot of paper for planning and jotting down stuff so i decided to get a whiteboard probably like a medium size and i hung it on my wall like right above my desk! its rly useful and saves paper and time and very fun to use ngl
i am not a student but an adult who studies the korean language as a fun hobby. i find handwriting things on my ipad interspersed with typing and shadowing (speaking the words aloud along with or right after the audio file example) works for me personally. i seem to retain more when i write or rewrite notes, along with shadowing. i'm writing a very different language and i constantly have to erase and rewrite it so it is legible for me to read later plus i loved the idea of digital handwritten notes and how you can copy/paste and rearrange whole sections after the fact which is not the same on paper hard copy. i do utilize a mini whiteboard sometimes to practice writing a word over and over until i get the spacing write on each syllable. i do use apps to study on my phone or websites on my laptop, too. as they say a variety is best to learn material. even if it is the same things sometimes a different method will help solidify a point that another one wasn't giving you.
Hey Sister, I'm impressed by your work you're really doing great...
Can you make a video on : I actually want to study hard but sometime it doesn't feel to study so how to overcome this please tell me I was the topper of my class but now I'm not in a topper batch and I'm so much demotivated 🥺
i have a video titled 'How to study after procrastinating the whole day' and i think that might help!
The fact I literally watched the 2 ads without skipping the first one was about pollution and the second was grammerly 😂😂😂
Nice video, it's a great thing that you had alternatives for each thing
always happy to help 💖💖

No more waiting in like, carrying flasdrives around and so on
Thank you so much Faye for being an inspiration for many! I have concentration problems but I've been trying recently!
i believe in you 👏👏
0:24 on the stationary thing I think it’s best to figure out WHAT about their aesthetic notes actually draws you in and adapt that to what you can/will use. I paid $3 for a 4pk of highlighters and I got a couple cheap sets of red ink and blue ink pens and a pack of small post its. Like I’m set.

I really appreciate your help.❤
happy to help you make the right decision 🙌
CANNOT EXPLAIN MY LOVE FOR YOU!!!! YOURE THE BESTTTT THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE EFFORT AND ADVICEEEEE
Edit: Dear Faye, Just know you are amazing and you make us happy in all ur vids and never focus on bad intentions..
I should go study lol-
all the best ~ 💜
Are you in 10th mine is also english....best of luck btw❤

Exactly. A decent monitor can be had for $150 or less. Hell you might even be able to get a used one for free if you are willing to call around.
This is literally the best review ever, it's so helpful and honest, plus the alternatives are so useful too!

She is the one who understand that everyone's wallet isn't same -- she understand
Sometimes she tells something that is very relatable and helpful ,thats why I love her very much 🖤🌷
Your cost @ 3:25 seem wrong. You are adding additional costs twice? How do you calculate total costs?
My calculation is: 460 + 290 = 750 USD. That's it.
I love how she is fair on everything!❤
Thank you for this video . I’ve always wanted an iPad since I’ve been seeing UA-cam study videos and the aesthetics and I loved it . I mostly write my notes and draw at times (medicine) since I like to visualize but this video made me realize I don’t really need it if I can’t afford it . I’d be sticking to my handwritten notes then
Let's just appreciate how she puts so much efforts in these videos for us love you faye❤
love you bestie ❤
shes so nice that i actually din skip the add when she told me not to
"your skills are more important than your tools." i had to write that down because that hits the point home; sometimes i think the study community in social media tend to heavily focus on aesthetics rather than practical ways & tips to cultivate one's study skills. this is such a valuable & timely reminder, thank you so much 🤍
I was so excited for this video when I saw it on your community post!
Keep shining Faye and tysm for your tips! 💕✨🌸
thank you for keeping up with my community posts ~ 💖
🌱💫
Your tips always turn out to be so helpful !! Off topic but i admire your handwriting. ❤️
Faye you are AWESOME. I really appreciate you for all you’ve done for us besties! ❤ Your channel is literally the definition of aesthetic, practical and Asian mindset friendly. 😂 I NEED THIS BRUTALITY IN MY LIFE 🎉
You inspire me a ton ❤️
Any ways you're videos are amazing. I am loving this channel for so long
LOVE YOU VIDEOS FAYE! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THEM!💜
Edit: OMG you replied!

This video helped a lot, thank you❤❤❤
always happy to help 💖💖
You saying about the study lamp..
I literally asked for a study lamp for my birthday..
I have always wanted it and I find it the most useful purchase I have bought in a while...
Especially during exam season if I want to stay up late I don't have to on the main light and disturb my fam..
And it colour changes from golden yellow, white and daylight..
Absolutely gorgeous❤️
Hi Faye! I am having my finals right now, and thank you so much for your wonderful tips
best of luck 💖💖
Thankyou so much Faye ❤️✨
People show have "that" student type thing but great UA-camrs like ✨you✨ brush off the very reality how the thing are
Thankyou for your efforts, your tips are just so helpful and so realistic, that i just love it!
❤️❤️❤️
Faye I see that you're also an chemistry student, could you please like please like please make a video on how to study chemistry? Like share your own experience being an chemistry student and tell us what kind of chemistry student are you? I mean you can help so many of us!! Hoping from you
Oh my goshh... You're helping me with these trend study methods. You deserve new subs 🥰
I bought an iPad when I was in my last year of middle school, and right now I am going to be starting second year of high school in April, I did not use the iPad much in middle school, but I use it a lot now for maths practice and science notes, so I guess buying an iPad just depends on one’s own study habits and the time at which they decide to buy it…
well said ~
Thank you for replying Faye! P.s. you are amazing!
Also really appreciate you converting dollars to rupees. Really helps the comparison😊
I have but I am broke and I know they only buy for the aesthetic! And thank you so much for the tips! Been feeling burned out and need motivation!
Tysm Fae. You’re the most honest youtuber I ever met. You actually give honest study advice. I love the way u always include India
The reason why you are my favorite UA-camr is because you make relatable videos , as while studying things you told often happen and now after following your tips my marks are great
Thankyou ❤❤❤
Edit: aww you replied can’t believe it
🥰🥰🥰
my cousin is 8 yrs old and he is in second grade, yet he bullied his parents into buying him an ipad pro. thank you for your honesty faye, this just purely proves my point. also, about the notes being messy, if you have a chromebook (idk about others, but mine has this) theres an app called cursive which is a very minimal and beginner like note-taking app so all your typed notes and hand-written notes can be inn the same place
Faye is a disney princess but with an academic plot🎉
For me personally, mildliners and tombo liners aren't useful at all. I understand that visual learners likes to see pretty notes, but I don't want to spend so much time on making pretty notes because at the end of the day understating what I studied is more important than having pretty notes.
And for me, my black pen and one highlighter can does the same thing.
🙌🙌
She is only the very honest youtuber that have tips taht actually helped me. Loving her
Also when you said I see you i immediately straightened up 💀
omg i love your accent, i came for the video title i stayed for your voice, you are so sweet , loved it, thanks for the tips
