*tips from when i was setting this up myself:*
    1) for the study/home etc focus modes, I found that if i made a ‘home’ focus mode there wasn’t a way to allow all notifications which i wanted in home mode, so instead of making the shortcut turn on a Home focus mode, I set the shortcut to “Switch Between Wallpapers” and “Set Focus - Turn Study Off”. it essentially does the exact same, just allows notifications to come through when in home mode.
    2) instead of having to create albums of one photo that you want as a widget, Widgetsmith is free and lets you upload a singular photo. it also has date and time widgets and a bunch of other customisation options (not sponsored lmao)
    3) for whatever reason, when I'm adding the photos for shortcuts on my home screen, if i have my iPad in landscape orientation it distorts the image (weird), so if you have the same issue just make sure you're holding your iPad in Portrait orientation (so the camera is at the top) when you're choosing the icon image.
    4) Personally, i don’t like the look of app folders on my home screen so i found a way to hide folders behind any image u like, making it look like another custom icon! might be hard to explain in a comment but ill try.
    - in the Shortcuts app, add new shortcut, click where it says search for apps and actions, type in Choose from Menu
    - Where you see the red minus symbols next to “One” and “Two” replace one and two with the names of the apps you want in the folder. if you want more than 2 apps click add new item and add 󠀀as many as u want.
    - Now underneath the top big Choose from Menu bubble there will be more bubbles with the app names you entered above. Look back at the sidebar from which you added the original Choose from Menu bubble, and instead this time find Open App (should be in suggested actions, if it’s not click scripting and it'll be at the top), and click it once for each app you’re including in the folder. E.g if you’re making a folder with 4 apps, click it 4 times.
    - The Open App bubbles will have been added to the bottom of the ‘bubble list’ (excuse the terms im using) where you can hold and drag each one under the app name bubbles you made earlier. Then on each one click App and select the app you’ve put the bubble under.
    - For example your ‘bubble list’ should look like this if you were to make a folder with goodnotes, google drive, and outlook
    > Choose from Menu with Prompt
    - Goodnotes
    - Google Drive
    - Outlook
    + Add new Item
    > Goodnotes
    > Open Goodnotes
    > Google Drive
    > Open Google Drive
    > Outlook
    > Open Outlook
    > End Menu
    - Once that’s all done, in the top left where you see a shortcuts symbol and a greyed out ‘choose from menu’, click that, click rename and name it to what you want your folder called. Then click it again, click add to home screen, click the icon next to the folder name and replace it with whatever photo you’d like, then press add.
    - Now on your home screen when you click the icon it’ll bring up a menu from which you can choose an app from the folder !!

Every video I watched before watching this one was mainly talking about “hacks and tricks” about the iPad or in a certain app or so. This video is actually really helpful and informative for people who needed opinions about note taking apps and what to use for studying even also with how she goes into depths with the tutorials at the end. I really appreciated and enjoyed how helpful this video is. Thank you ❤

Tip from an avid iPad user: PLEEEEASE do NOT waste your money on the paper-like iPad cover!!!! I got one as an artist and it felt NOTHING (and I mean nothing) like paper. It was still pretty smooth, and just made my iPad feel like it was… Dirty? I don’t even know how to explain it. The “Bootleg” one that Sab Yang got is the exact same one that I got, and it was a breath of fresh air compared to the paper-like cover. So I beg of you, please don’t waste your money!

    • @izzielovesfrankocean
      @izzielovesfrankocean 8 місяців тому +17

Exactly! It does get “dirty” but also better than just scratching your perfectly fine iPad screen, i personally do have the screen protector from Paperlike and yes it is probably not the best but to see all those scratches and oil like smudges, i’m glad that i at least have something on

    (I find that more appealing)

As someone that has had the bootleg paperlikes on an old iPad and the real thing on my newer one, the bootleg one was so much better. Paperlike brand themselves has given me a lot of issues both times I’ve bought a pack and the grain is smaller and the most recent pack I got was nearly smooth plastic and doesn’t do nearly any scratching. Both of the ones that came in the pack.
So I highly recommend getting the bootleg ones as I’m replacing it with one of those. Also trying the ones that are a sheet and it sticks on magnetically so you can take it off sometimes.

Hey Sab! I’m starting medical school this year and I have been binging your videos, I just love your vibe! You’re making me even more excited to start school! Quick question for ya :) I just bought my first iPad and went for the 13 inch one, but since using it I’m worried it may be a bit too cumbersome to lug around to class, coffee shops, the hospital, etc. It’s wonderful to use on a desk or table, but any time else it feels a bit awkward to handle. Do you find the 12.9 inch one to be this way? How has it been taking it to class? I’d appreciate your input!!
