I didn't realize until I saw your comment that prof. Binns usually talked a lot about it and that it was cannon. I kind of had the feeling he dies during it through and that why he always spoke of it.

This actually looks... incredible and a truly immersive experience. The pure passion shown in this demonstration from the devs is clearly recognized. It's been awhile since a game trailer has made me this intrigued in a game. I can not wait to play this.

I'm extremely hyped, and them showing so much is definitely a good sign that they're confident in their game. One concerning thing I noticed though is that other enemies just kinda stand their while you wail on one of them. Hopefully the AI is just dumbed down for showcase purposes, but I'd be a little bummed if combat ends up not being challenging considering how many interesting tools you seem to have.
Or the AI being one of the main differences between difficulty modes
@@daveprice5911 They definitely should consider difficulty modes here. This is not Elden Ring and someone wants to easy story mode walk in the park.
However, I'd like them to give us an option of having Elden Ring like experience where you don't have much directions and truly exploring this world.
@@AbsoluteADCC Definitely. I think this looks like a game well suited to different difficulty levels, IF well implemented. If enemies just have more hp and deal more damage because fuck you and no more thought put into it, it's worthless. But if the ai is more interesting, puzzles become more challenging etc. and there is real thought put into the difference between difficult and tedious, it could be amazing
The fighting might look static because magical dueling is done from a distance and it requires no running around. Interested to try the game mechanics

I could of never imagined how in depth this game was I had expectations but kept them realistic and this entire gameplay trailer blew past everything I thought would be included in the game.

I am going to play the heck out of this game. I like how it's not just a copy-and-paste Hogwarts from the films, but a totally reimagined, accurate representation from the books. Also the Hufflepuff dorm looks soooo cool.

As a die hard Harry Potter fan, I’m overwhelmed! The amount of details poured into this not just from the movies but the books is outstanding! Bought a ps5 just for this! Hope they introduce events like an Valhalla festivals where for a set amount of time they have the triwizard tournament or quidditch World Cup ! Either way these guys seem to have nailed it !

I hope they also include floo powder fast travel, even tho I probably wont use it since I'll be addicted to riding my hippogrif or broom( wich I hope you can buy multiple models or at least upgrade)

I still wonder how Quidditch will play out, the first 2 games always had the rings plus a boost in CoS PS2, whereas Quidditch World Cup let you play as Chasers too and the Snith left a trail to power up the boost gauge.

This has to be the best gameplay trailer I have ever seen. This is how u get people excited about your game. I was already hype hearing about first Harry Potter open world game and u show this and I can't believe how u went way over my expectations for this wow I love it. So good love it I can't wait to play this. Game might play for a long time and never get bored playing it wow.
Rockstar did somewhat similar trailers for GTA V. They had a calm voice talk you through the different parts of the city.

So... This game looks even more amazing than I thought it could be, and I had high hopes when it was announced. I am SO EXCITED for this!

I wonder if the house we choose has certain benefits/downsides, like ravenclaw allowing us to get a higher effectiveness in potions, but decrease our attacks with spells as a result. It would add a lot to the gameplay and replayability if there is one, if some people prefer to do multiple playthroughs for different character builds.

I'd guess the main story will stay the same but maybe there would be different side characters you can interact with, and maybe areas exclusive to each house (e.g. the dorm rooms).
Aside from access to the house rooms, membership in a house probably affects how other characters, especially the students treat the protagonist. I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least some Slytherin vs Grifyndor incorporated into the story.
i hope! i also wonder if different houses have an affinity for the element they’re associated with, like gryffindor learning spells involving fire with more ease

Wow this looks incredible. Amazing to be a gamer in 2022 where we can throw ourselves into these awe inspiring worlds and forget all the depressing stuff going on in the real world.
The fact you can mis and match spells of any kind to defeat your opponents is amazing. I hope you can buy, gather and collect things from outside of Hogwarts grounds. Going school supply shopping, I hope there's a way to get more than what you need. Like being able to get extra books, potion ingredients and maybe even ice cream in game would be fun as well.
Bro the amount of things they've showcased is incredible. Sometimes all you get from a trailer is 5 seconds of gameplay and 10 minutes of cinematics and lore, but this was so incredibly detailed! I hope the game is atleast half as good as the trailer makes it out to be, and I will be a happy man.
15 minutes and of gameplay transported me almost 15 years back, when I was a kid. When times were easier and I've reread HP books dozens of times without getting bored of them. Thank you. Can't wait for this game!

Those flaws are a good thing actually. It's a sign that they are showing the real thing, not a demo polished to perfection. Plus, the game is still many months off and the trailer stated that it's obviously a work in progress.
Been waiting for a game like this for literal YEARS. Loving this preview all the characters seem very unique and fit the HP universe extremely well. If the actual game is anything like this then u can count me in for a pre-order when they become available :)
This game looks like everything I dreamed of growing up, but I really wish it was a full Hogwarts journey, not one that just starts randomly in year 5. I want to get my hogwarts letter, go to Ollivanders and get a wand, get sorted, etc.
i think you still do all of these things! you may not begin in year 1, but i think it’s more like a late start, perhaps we’re late bloomers or didn’t live in the area. we’ll still get a notice that we’ve been accepted, get our wand, get sorted, etc etc just not at year 1

It IS the Harry Potter universe, just not set in harry potter's time. The same way that the magical beasts movies are in the same universe but with no Harry Potter

I don’t know how I missed this video. This looks like the most incredible RPG ever made. So much to do, interaction with what seems like everybody in the world. Friendships, building, Looding and learning. It’s just pretty amazing how big this game looks and how many things there seems to be to do. I cannot wait for this. Something tells me this is going to be my game of the year.

I'm not ashamed, but maybe a little embarrassed, to admit I started tearing up towards the end of the video. As someone that grew up reading the books and watching the movies on release, this is the game I've always wanted to play. I'm so excited to experience everything this game has to offer. Oh friggin boy this looks incredible. It’s amazing how something like this doesn’t already exist but it’s just been waiting for the right team to come along and build it and that time has come! Everything looks absolutely incredible and no detail was spared. The HP series has always been my favorite world to get lost in and now this brings it to a whole other level- absolutely buying this.
Would love to see the ability to create your own spells. Like Severus Snape.

My ONLY dislike is how some of the enemy's just stand there. While you are doing like 5 things in 2 two seconds the ai is just chilling there. Maybe they get more advanced as the game progresses. Other than that game looks amazing!!!!!!

7:35 that's a spell that I wrote for my character in a HP extended universe screenplay that me and my friends wrote. Unfortunately, the screenplay never went past the brainstorming phase. I don't even know where the original draft for the script is. It's surreal seeing a spell that I thought up in my head being used AND executed exactly the way I pictured it. Well done.

@@RADIALPUDDLE nah it's just a similar idea. Legacy didn't steal it, just coincidence. The spell in our screenplay was a way to show my character's power and raw magical ability. I actually wrote in the script that my character would actually catch another character's curse with a spell that my character created and throw it back at the original caster, sort of a catch and release. And then as a finisher, "Calling down the lightning" so to speak, which is what we see in the video here.
But all in all, it's really just a coincidence. No harm, no foul.

Curious about those brief shots of time gates on the plants and how far they extend into gameplay
I think the cooldowns are on Room of Requirement freebie items. Would be interesting to see if it reacts to your gameplay, like giving you healing items if you die a lot.
This looks great! Early footage so hopefully the animations will be smoothed out but otherwise game looks pretty and modern. Lighting/textures look great!
Lighting and atmosphere look fantastic. But I agree some of the animations look a bit naff
My biggest question is will this extend beyond one year, or is this just a year 5 adventurer. The scope of the plot and world sounds like something I'd want to be fleshed out over a couple years but I guess it all depends on how they've laid it out, plus if it extends beyond that opens up the way for some real cool post story stuff being a Hogwarts graduate and being able to do some stuff related to the wider world.
From the way they talked about the dynamic weather system, it seems to take place over one year that advances as you complete story missions.
Perhaps if this game is successful, they'll work on a trilogy of Legacy so that you have year 6 and year 7 to experience as their own games.

@Azkrathon I have a feeling it will be similar to the day and night system in Spider-Man PS4, where it changes dynamically at first, but once you complete the campaign you can choose whatever option you want. It could also be something entirely different though so who knows?
8:10 I am not quite sure I get the picture here. "Deep set of upgrades" is just 50 skills? Or is it there are further upgrades or branches in each skill? Or are the spells alchemy and such not included in this talent screen?

I know it's a crazy concept to grasp for folks like you with low attention spans, but there's a lot more to video games than just sprinting and jumping around a map playing mind-numbing online multiplayer...
This, this is the kind of stuff I want to see from the amazing worlds that have been created out there. We don't need to stay next to the same old characters in a world that has so much potential for the amazing. Tell of the past, write some new futures.

This all looks amazing I especially love that I can fight with the magical plants like a true herbologist. Now I just hope we can have magical creatures fight or explore with us especially a Swooping Evil I love that creature.
