Interested in the caged system for guitar but need something to get you soloing faster?? Look no further! In this lesson I’ll be showing you a much quicker alternative to the caged system for guitar solo stuff!
No need to look for the caged system explained, or just a standard caged system guitar lesson in this particular video...
Because we’re going to explore a totally different system that is much simpler and quicker to pick up than the caged system for guitar!
This lesson will show you how to take some tasty licks, and multiply them, to get you playing all over the fretboard without a shred of caged system practice necessary!
I’ll teach you those tasty licks by breaking them down, piece-by-piece, then I’ll show you exactly how to apply this other system to get you soloing all over the neck.
Once we learn how to traverse the fretboard using the licks with this system, we’ll put them to the ultimate test by playing them to a backing track to see and hear for ourselves how well it all works.
You might just forget about wanting the caged system explained for a little bit ;)
📘 AND DON’T FORGET!! Grab your FREE Guitar Cheat Sheet here: www.guitarmasterymethod.com/f...
👆 That Cheat Sheet will take what you just learned and show you how to play it in ANY key! Imagine taking these licks beyond the key we used today and being able to play them in EVERY other key under the sun! That’s what you’ll get when you click that link!
As you’re learning these licks and applying them with this new system that’s a perfect alternative to the caged system for guitar, just remember to take your time and have fun with it!
Maybe even teach it to someone else and pay it forward :)
Rock On!

I just wanted to say thanks I think you're video s are great there helping me so much thanks again 🎉
Hey everybody! I'm disabled (have cerebral palsy, can't plug in which is a long story in itself) and I just play for myself, but I've been trying these methods since yesterday and I'm already easily picking up on more than I expected to. Don't ever give up!
I'm an old man ,79 in a bit under 3 months. I played guitars for years but always left it then pick it up again and start new. I love finger picking and not crazy about strumming but not many songs I like where strumming is required. Don't worry about being disabled. Just play, strum o to finger pick. You can E mail me anytime. Bob AF2DX
I am stuck as I don't know where to go next, so now I am really floundering. My issue is in transitioning, and after 9 months in I still have major pains (plus I gave myself CTS, along with bad arthritis), but I do, at least, know these chords: A/Am/C/D/E/Em/G I can't find a single instructor I am clicking with, and I am not sure where to go next.
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thats awsome man . Congrats on your progress and know you are certainly an inspiration to me for your determination. Right on this is awsome to hear .
@@generalawareness101 keep at it my freind . Look at the neck as sections of 3 frets . Either fingers on the dots or fingers with dot in between. Learn basic pentonic and fool around with basic improv . Your ear will do the rest..hope this helps.
Thank you, you are a good teacher, I can follow you perfectly. You repeat often that is good. I am 67 and began learning guitar so you see, never to old to learn.
Keep on teaching, a lot of people including me are very glad with you.
I’m 70y/o- BEGINNER ! ! Nice to know I’m not alone and also in good company ! We just have to try a little harder (lol) Good Luck friend !
I’ve been teaching guitar for few years now. This is the best video I’ve seen for such a simple idea. Well done mate
Gratitudes, Sir !
Simple system for me who has practiced every Scale and Mode possible and until now, they’ve sounded like Scales and Modes.
Thanks Eddie… I’m 66 and a new Subscriber. I think lol.
I’m reasonably fluid already. This will clinch it like my old arthritic fingers
I teach my students both methods. It's doesn't confuse them but it reinforces how the Guitar is laid out and offers their own benefits to learning the layout of the fretboard
I think I can get a lot of mileage out of that lesson...something of a lightbulb moment 💡 . Thanks 👍🏻
I knew this already, but the way you explained this was the best I’ve ever heard. I also learned some new things. Great instructor.
Eddie, you're such a great teacher. Thanks for sharing your skills and tricks with the rest of us.
Very well done Eddie. Keep it up
Finally some way other then caged to work with octaves! I love this & can’t wait to try it! Thanks Ed ✌️
Hi Eddie, those are awesome licks on A minor; from lower extension to position one, then the high extension. That way you always end your licks on root notes. While your pingky always hit the blue notes. Thank you very much for the inspiring lesson. Cheers from Indonesia.
I love watching this❤️watching from Phillipines🇵🇭
Excellent he makes it that you can see what he doing clearly and explaining also.
Great teacher
This was the second video I saw from your channel and you got my subscription. Very good way to see navigate the fretboard.
Great ideas thanks Eddie, the low, middle and high level for the three pairs of strings made the lesson easier to follow.
Hey guys congratulations on the 100 thousands subscribers!!🤘❤
That’s a KOOL guitar!
I never thought of playing this way, going to be refreshing to add some new tools to the fret board, Thanks !
What a great teacher!!!
Eddie - you are such a great guitar instructor/ mentor 🎸💫
Eddie is like your next door neighbor (or your best friend) , who also is a guitar genius. Keep it up Eddie Haddad, we love you!!!
Love this lesson, thank you so much for teaching it to us!
Eddie its nice to know after 30+ years of playing in bands and just in the past year tryimg to learn more theory that you can definitely teach a old dog new tricks. I find your lessions easy to follow and glad to see you as a part of GMM. Best place I have found to truly learn. Wished I found it when it started. Keep Jamming!
These are great tips, thanks!
Thanks for all the Great Lessons and tips.
This means worlds to me.literally! Thank you.
Excellent way of thinking my dude. Very good locks to learn every time.
A fun starter. Happy teaching!
Very cool!!! I need to write out these patterns and try it. Thank You!!! You are a really good teacher.
Nice, Eddie! Great stuff as usual. Thank u GMM! Came back for a refresher and the lesson really resonates.
Great lesson Eddie!
This lesson is caged (because caged is just 'there') but it's wise not to 'think' caged when soloing. Caged is built on octave shapes and visualizing octaves won't scramble your brain as will caged in all it's complexity while soloing. I've been using this for years and use this approach. For soloing this will take you far. For locating triads for rhythm playing and somewhat in soloing I still think caged and it's related barre chords up the neck, each barre chord containing multiple triads. Great lesson. So much to learn.
Thanks from for making finally be able to link scales including with a rhythm when you do scales
Great lesson thanks for going to fine detail keep them coming
Another stellar lesson, Eddie, thanks for the great information!!!
