what was your step by step process for the exterior detailing? do you have a guide for that? paint looks brand new. also can you just spray the engine bay like that? is there anything else besides the battery you need to cover?
There's an older video on here where I detailed the exterior but stay tuned for more! As for the engine bay, I typically don't cover anything up at all, just be careful where you're spraying and it's fine
Really nice work. Thanks for sharing the effort. How did you get painted color matched parts? Did you have a door jack? Probably going to purchase a 2014 with a 6 speed manual. The guy at the car lot let me bring it home. I’m taking to a mechanic this morning. I have the CEL on, knock sensor, seems like a mouse nested and ate the wiring harness. The frame has some surface rust only on it that I can tell, but we will see if that’s all.
Good job replacing all those body parts , glad to see you used a ryobi impact tool, what model no. was it? Hope she appreciated all your efforts 😊👍mahalo
Alternate title: Assembling an entire Tacoma with a Ryobi gun and 10mm socket
These relics need to preserved so when the turbos start blowing, we can remember the good times.
I love how simple these trucks are!
@@CanadianGearheadsimple, somewhat modern, ever capable, ultra reliable!
2006 isn’t a relic, it’s not even considered a classic.
@@jaymoar3561 in drivetrain terms… it’s a dying breed.
You can get aftermarket headlights fairly cheap. They won’t need polishing every 6 months. Can also go for custom look if desired.
Did she get the frame replace under the Toyota program ? looks brand new in the 8:35 shot
Yup, the dealer begrudgingly did the frame swap haha
I just found this, Great job and a really impressive video, Highly motivating..

Are you getting all of the parts painted? Or just picking up replacements from the wrecker?
Mixture of new parts painted by the body shop and used panels that happened to be the right color
Solid before after. Looks great! Did you treat the frame on this?
Thanks! It had the frame replacement done shortly before I got my booger pickers on it so it's in great shape
@@CanadianGearhead BTW you made it look really to reskin a Tacoma. I would love to see you dissassemble a 4Runner rear quarter that fast :)
Something tells me it would be a bit more involved haha
@@CanadianGearheadA'ight. I guess I'll have to sell the Razercrust (4Runner) and get a Taco. I need simple in my life.
@@CanadianGearheadyou should woolwax or cosmoline the frame if you don’t do anything to it, it will rust out just like your old one real quick
Great job and video! Videos like this are what made UA-cam what it is.
Thanks for watching!
Well how is the frame? That would be the only thing i would look at to see if its worth doing anything to it
It was replaced a few years ago
@CanadianGearhead right on! I use rust check every year on my 15 taco, frame is still rust free on the east coast.

Great content, I recently picked up a 2.5 gen tacoma and live in Ontario. Any recommendations for Canadian shops that cater to 2nd gen tacomas mods?
Excellent video, where did you get the panels from, I take it they were used? The Tacoma looks awesome.
Bedside and door were used, bumper, fender, and tailgate were sourced through the body shop that painted them
Awesome job bro, love those wheels, now u just need to swap the trans for a manual 😎🤘🏾
I'd love a manual Taco!
Did the rear window come factory or is it aftermarket? Mine has a sliding glass in the middle
This one came with a sliding one too but it was smashed and replaced with one from a junkyard
@@CanadianGearhead how much did that cost? It looks good. Also does it roll down?
Did u replace all the parts or did u get them fixed because that was a lot of dented pieces
I replaced them
Hey great video , where did you buy the rear bumper???
It's the same bumper, I just replaced the trim pieces on it
What size the tires and wheels
265/75/16
@@CanadianGearhead thank you
I am guessing you've answered this question in a video, but what head unit do you have?
It's from iDoing
@@CanadianGearhead thank u
That was fun! How many hours was it? A lot I bet.
I didn't track the hours but now I wish I would have!
Well done my friend! GADDANG
Thanks!!
Awesome job!
Thanks!
Nice lovin! I think you found a couple of long term relationships. Does your gal do you tube with her wood working?
No but she might in the future
your neighbor "after doing yours, come over and do mine" 😭🙄
Paint match the grill I’m telling you pulls the whole front end together
pretty smooth way to slide yourself into Tacoma.... ask her to marry you.
What can I say, it was the cheapest way to get another Toyota truck for the channel haha
