My dad died of cancer 5 years ago and he left me his 2000 Toyota 4Runner. I didn’t really have much use for it but I kept it as a second car for sentimental reasons. He took such great care of it and I’ve also kept it in top condition. It only has about 100,000 miles and it doesn’t even have a scratch. Interior looks brand new too. Reminds me of my dad whenever I get behind the wheel. I’m a Toyota convert and will only buy Toyotas
Never thought I'd have tears streaming down my face while watching a Tacoma video. Good job putting Mike's truck on display. He seemed like such a good. person. Prayers for all, Jeff.
Thanks Jeff, Scotty Kilmer would be proud as well as The Car Care Nut. RIP Mike and thanks to his wife for letting your dealership preserve this famous Tacoma.
Man. I'm only half way through and his story about Suzy got me. Happy you wound up with the honor of finding the right thing to do with it. Sorry for the loss of your friend. My heart goes out to his wife, you and all the lives Mike touched.
Thanks so much for putting this video together for me & my family to watch our dad show off his car! Thanks for all the kind words offered! He was a great man! I miss him so much! Thanks Jeff for you hard work! Can’t wait to come & take a picture of it in the showroom!
I lost my dad to cancer 20 years ago. This video hit me right in the feels. My condolences to the Neal family and everyone who is suffering through their loss.
This video is more than just about a truck; it's about the extraordinary bond between a man and his machine, a testament to Mike's incredible journey and a symbol of human resilience. The 1.6 million-mile Tacoma isn't just a feat of engineering; it's a chronicle etched in every mile, every dent, and every repaired part, each contributing to a legacy that transcends automotive history. It's only fitting that it finds a home in a showroom, but in truth, it holds a place in the hearts of everyone who heard its story. The Tacoma is a material testament to an immeasurable spirit - Mike's spirit. Let's keep his memory alive by sharing this story, inspiring future generations to value simplicity, longevity, and genuine human connections. RIP Mike, you've left tracks on this world far beyond the miles on your odometer.

Very touching video. I drive my Fathers 2000 Tacoma Pre runner. He passed recently this Father’s Day. It has over 259,000 miles on it. I’m going to keep running for a long time. Miss you Dad! RIP Mike 🙏🏽
This story is so amazing. The fact it ended up where it started and you two kept in touch all those years is great. RIP to Mike as he was an incredible and caring person.
I have a Tacoma. I got it from a dealership in NC when I was in SC for the Army training. It has been a very special vehicle to me. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. It is amazing to hear that you stayed in contact with Mike over a decade after you sold the truck. It is so rare to see that kind of beautiful interaction between people nowadays. Thank you for recording the journey for Mike's legacy. What a story of a good man with his truck. Rest in peace, Mike. You will be remembered.
I always enjoyed your previous videos with Mike. He seemed like such a genuine person who cared so much for doing good for others. I hope his story serves as a blessing to all who see it. Great to see he and his legendary Tacoma will continue to be honored. We sure could use more folks like Mike!
Jeff, I’ve been following your channel covering Mike’s million Mile Tacoma, and I’m saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. You truly are a stand up guy to be there for his family. Very nice to see Fred Anderson Toyota honor him and his Tacoma. Next time I’m in North Carolina I will stop by to see the Tacoma.
Wow! I just happened to see this & clicked on it. RIP Mike, what an awesome story! I bought a 05 new in October of 04. I loved that truck. It was destroyed in August 2022 in multiple car pile up in Richmond Virginia. It had 297, 862 miles. In the 18 years I owned it, it only needed a fuel pump at 270,000 is. It was a Silver Prerunner. It was literally like burying a family member. One of the best over built trucks ever made.
Look at the dignity of knowing a person’s character even in his voice. Mike’s truck in general is no exception, it is still perfect even after 15 years have passed. RIP to Mike 🙏 as he was an incredible and caring person.
Wow, that was an awesome story of faith and courage...... and I thought I have lot of miles on my TACOMA over 300,000 on my 2005 V6 and never failed me once... R.I.P Mike I hope to make it to at least half of your mileage.
This video is special in a few different ways. My sympathies to Mike’s wife and family! I can relate to Mike being adopted as I was at a month of age. I will always stand for Toyota and their Quality! Really appreciate you sharing this Jeff! I lost my Mother to cancer in 2012 so I can definitely sympathize! Always my personal best for you and your family and the dealership! Mark in Iowa.
I drove an 06 RWD access cab with the 4 cyl and manual for 9 years and it was definitely the most reliable vehicle i have owned. I now own a 15 TRD offroad access cab manual with the v6 and at 170 000kms the throwout bearing is going. My newer truck is much more capable than the RWD 4cyl but is going to cost me more in repairs after a year of ownership than the 4cyl did in 9 years.
Where do you start, the truck? The man? Jeff? It's amazing for a truck or any vehicle to last 1.6 million plus miles, and Mike seems like such a genuinely nice person. I'm sure he's in heaven along with his sister having a great get together. And Jeff? Truly one of the best salesmen out there I would buy a car from any day if I lived in North Carolina. God bless all them.
Man this video right in the gut and tears gushed from my eyes … such a genuine human being who really loved his family and shared his wonderful truck story..putting it in a show room is an awesome tribute to him and everyone who loved him. Jeff I could only imagine how difficult it was for you to put this video together! Thank you very much for sharing.. RIP Mike and condolences to all friends and family.
He was such a calm, compassionate and humble soul. He must've been a loving husband and a great father (if he had kids). So sad that he died from the same sickness he had been fighting against. This is such a touching video. Something completely different and it had highs and lows and some really touching moment! May his soul rest in peace 🌷
The fact that the engine lasted 880,000 miles alone is crazy impressive. I’m sure he could have had it repaired without warranty but for the cost it probably made more sense to replace.
I'm a Toyota Hilux owner since 2004. My first truck went up to 800K kms before I decided on a new vehicle so I sold it. It was probably one of the worst thought out decisions I had ever made. I redeemed myself and bought a new Hilux 3 years ago. My point is Toyota trucks or pickups as they're known in my part of the world will last ages if you take care of them and Mike's Taco here is testament to that.
What a wonderful story and tribute to Mike! His memory will be preserved because of your video here and because of the numerous runs he made in his Tacoma delivering cancer diagnosis drugs to people in need. Thanks for this - it made my day.
My behind-the-scenes story on this Tacoma www.torquenews.com/6626/16-million-mile-toyota-tacoma-where-it-now Please SHARE this video and story to people can hear the story themselves. Jeff
Love this story. Mike seemed like such a great man. May he rest in peace. He did his part to make this world a better place, and to those who make and sell these vehicles, it’s stories like this that should keep motivating you to make great products.
RIP Mike. It’s rare to see a vehicle survive their owner in this manner. My father and I drive his 2007 Tacoma 4-cyl access cab still, but we only have 160k miles on it. One day, I will have to make a pilgrimage to North Carolina to check this truck out. I’ve driven that Tacoma in all kinds of weather conditions and it has always been a dependable truck. My 2007 Tacoma has been in 4 accidents, none of them my fault, but the engine and trans are still all original.
I had a 2007 Tacoma extended cab 4WD also with the 2.7 engine that I bought new. In those days I wasn't diligent at taking care of it. I never took it for service but I kept the oil and filters clean. I didn't even worry about tire rotation. I just drove it. The first and only repair came at 191k miles which was a front wheel bearing. The original tires lasted for 124k miles and still had good tread but they were starting to dry rot. When the new tires were put on I asked about an alignment but was told it didn't need it. Sadly at 211k miles a patch of black ice killed it. I now have a 2023 Tacoma and I'm taking better care of it and hoping it's just as reliable
I make $140k a year traveling the nation working on broadcast towers. I still drive a 17 year old Toyota. The worst thing about owning a Toyota is you never have a true reason to go buy a new truck
This makes my heart so happy. Mike was always so proud of his truck and being the owner of a blue Tacoma as well I get his passion. He worked for me for several years and was such a dedicated man. He is missed. Thanks so much for making this final chapter for him.
Sorry to hear about your friend passing. He seems like a great guy. I bought a Toyota Tacoma not too long ago. It has over 100k miles on it. I feel now that it’s practically a new vehicle from watching your video. 10:18
Thank you so much Jeff... what a bond you had with Mike and his Tacoma.. Rest easy in heaven Mike..He is a hero. What a way to honor his legacy.... I was welled up watching the video.... I have a 2017 toyota tacoma access cab 4 cylinder 2.7 liter...I am confident that my truck will outlived me..
Love this story, I remember watching the first video and thought, I wish I could afford one. Well I got out of debt and saved the money to buy one in cash. I bought a used 2021 Tacoma SR5 with 36000 miles and I’m praying I get at least half of what Mike got on his. Rest In Peace Mike.
I bought my first of four toyotas in 1987. My latest is a 2023 toyota tacoma trd sport. It's my retirement vehicle, 3865 miles and counting, till death do us part
Man thats an awesome story. Jeff you are one of the good ones for sure to keep in touch with Mike all those years. I own a 2022 Tacoma 2WD TRD Sport. I love this truck. I have been driving Toyotas since 1999 i will never drive anything else. Keep these great videos coming.
It would help if you augmented the display. 1) Get a life-size cardboard cutout of Mike standing next to the vehicle. #2) Have this video on a loop so people can watch it. 3) Put his log book in a plexiglass showcase so people can read the log book.
This beautiful story has traveled the world, I am Italian and I am like you, sad and happy at the same time. Grazie a Mike per averci raccontato la sua storia.
This is a great tribute to your friend Mike and the truck he was proud to own. Its a perfect showpiece inside the dealership for people to see just how well these little trucks hold up. This is for sure going to make many hesitant customers pull the trigger and buy one on the spot.
This Tacoma makes my 657,000 mile Honda Accord seem like it has low miles! Great video, I remember hearing about this specific Tacoma before in one of the other videos. Sad to hear he passed away, but I'm glad it gets a spot of honor on the showroom floor.
I have an 07' Scion Tc with 200,000 miles. It's an icebox in the summer, and I've NEVER been stuck in snow of any kind, and we live in Massachusetts. I have confidence, that it will last 500,000 miles, because I've changed the oil every 3,000 miles since it's purchase, and it still has very strong torque. There's some rust, and it's dirty, but I wouldn't trade it for any other automobile. So far the only repairs, have been a steering column, that went bad the first 6 months, which was covered for a $50 deductible on the warranty, and an alternator, that's it
Sorry to hear about Mike passing. Great to see his truck on display for people to see at the dealership where he bought it. If the dealership decides to take it off display someday for whatever reason, I hope Toyota will display it at their headquarters or, build a Toyota Museum and display it, as well as, all the Toyota’s that have survived the test of time with high mileage. RIP Mike & my condolences to his wife.
Thank you for doing this Jeff! My son and I stopped into the Fred Anderson yesterday to see the truck. I love how you guys just cleaned it up and put it on the showroom floor but the bumps and bruises of the truck are still there for all to see. It was a workhorse for Mike; doing a special job. This has to be about the coolest thing I have seen a dealership do for a customer and I wanted to express my appreciation. Can't wait for the new Tacoma so I can get out of my GMC :)
Big thank you to Mike & his Toyota Tacoma. May you rest in peace. Thank you Jeff for remembering a customer and his truck by showing it off in a Toyota dealership. It is sad that death has to come but it is great to know that when Mike was on earth he trusted his Toyota Tacoma every single day and it never gave up or left him stranded when he needed a trusted ride it would take him where ever he needed to go ever single time.
Thanks for this video. It is sad to hear of Mike’s passing but a good ending for the truck. He would have loved that I bet. Seeing his videos with you helped convince me to get my first Tacoma. You found a very sweet way to honor a guy that seems like he was a truly great person.
Wow…that is pretty impressive you developed a great relationship with your customers. You did a nice job recognizing your friend and his beloved truck. 🙏🏾
I still have my 2000 Toyota Tacoma truck (V6/xtra-cab) since I first bought in 1999 and she has 178,886 miles so far. I've been very faithful changing the oil thru out the years and she's still running like its new. I love my truck 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Here in Eastern Canada I’ve seen two Camry’s with over 1 million klms (625 thousand miles) which is amazing when you consider the road salt and winter conditions in the area. This truck though is amazing!! … RIP Mike
If you do proper anti-rust treatment every year (and especially if you do it right away once after you buy it) you can definitely do 1 million miles even in salty areas.
This video was good on so many levels! For one thing, it was totally cool of you to keep in touch with Mike all these years since you sold him the truck in the first place. And for the truck to go back to the dealership for display, well, that was just perfect! My assumption is that legally, title-wise, that the truck went to YOU, Jeff, and that it is you who are letting it be viewed in the dealership. To me, I think that would be great because as we have seen, you did a good thing with it. That old saying "when life gives you lemons, just make lemonade", is so relevant here. Mike died, which is the "lemon", and you made "lemonade" out of it and honored him at the same time. Literally poetry in motion! I also think it would have been cool to get video of his widow talking about the truck and telling you in her words, about how it was that Mike came to leave you the truck, although we know from what you told in the video. In any case, as someone else here wrote, whoever thought that a Tacoma video could be so heartwarming!!!

My 2007 Tacoma has been in 4 accidents, none of them my fault, but the engine and trans are still all original.
Mike makes me proud to drive a Tacoma . 126k and hopefully many more trouble free miles
Barely broke in at that mileage if we’ll cared for👍
I had a 2007 Tacoma extended cab 4WD also with the 2.7 engine that I bought new.
It is not always easy to find a good employee like Mike. He treated his truck like he treated people it seems like.
Mike was a great man. He was so proud of that truck. RIP Mike…glad to call you my friend.
I bought my first of four toyotas in 1987. My latest is a 2023 toyota tacoma trd sport. It's my retirement vehicle, 3865 miles and counting, till death do us part
I was there the other day. Saw the Tacoma. Truly amazing. God bless Mike and the truck!
Was just trying to watch a video on Tacomas reliability. Haven’t stopped crying in 10 minutes
I didnt know they made 2wd sport tacos? In what state do you live?
Yep 2022 Trd Sport 2wd bought in Florida
Rest in peace Mike. You got one heck of a truck!
RIP Mike. i bought my 2021 sr 4 cylinder tacoma because of your story and i love the truck
Jeff, this was a touching video. Mike would be happy of where the Tacoma currently resides.
I hope this truck continues to have a bright future.
So far the only repairs, have been a steering column, that went bad the first 6 months, which was covered for a $50 deductible on the warranty, and an alternator, that's it
😭RIP MIKE...THANK YOU! THANKS JEFF.
Thanks for sharing this Jeff. Sad for Mike’s passing but happy knowing he’s with the Lord and with Suzy. Beautiful video.
RIP Mike, god bless and that is good that y’all keeping it in the show room
Impressive, cant wait to buy a 2024 Tacoma
Great Story! Truck is one thing but, your relationship is another with Mike!!
Jeff one of your best videos. I love it. I am so proud of you. I feel Mike is smiling down on you.
Thanks so much Mom!!
Awesome way to keep his legacy alive. This needs to be in a museum! Bought a Tacoma brand new in 08’ best truck I ever owned wish I still had it
May He Rest in Peace! 🙏🏻 I hope someday I’ll go see his Truck. What a Story this is.. I will always be a Toyota guy. 👍🏻
God bless you Mike, rest in peace sir. Thank you Jeff for this video.
That’s so beautiful to see it in the show room. Love that you and the dealership is giving it so much ❤️.
Wow what a great story, prayers for Mike's family, Rest in peace Sir
Wow…that is pretty impressive you developed a great relationship with your customers. You did a nice job recognizing your friend and his beloved truck. 🙏🏾
Rest in Peace Mike. You will remain being a legend with your Tacoma forever.
wow, didn't expect this much emotion. godspeed, Mike
Thank you Jeff.
Rest in Paradise Mike.
God Bless.
What a great guy, he’s with the other angels 🙏 His humbleness is inspiring. You filmed him, he lives ❤
Thanks for those great words. No the truck belongs to Fred Anderson Toyota. I just facilitated the project
What an amazing human Mike was. Heaven just received a gift.
Sorry for your loss Jeff.
The YT algorithm recommended this video to me and I’m so glad it did. Never thought a Tacoma story could be so touching. 😢
Rest in peace Mike. 🙏
