    To all the people saying FZ8 was made obsolete by the MT-07 and MT-09, no it didn't. It's a completely different bike than either of those 2. It's a road cruiser that can go fast if you want it to. But yeah Yamaha probably gave up of further developing it and that is a shame.

    Always wanted an Fz8 and then I had seen that the Fz9 was in development. In that time i got my r6 and loved the hell out of it. I just recently sold my r6 and purchased an Fz9. The comfort of an Fz8, the power of a much bigger bike.

    I had an fz8 last year and changed it for a street triple, but let me tell you i miss the comfort level of the fz8. Even thought the triple is more agile and lighter my fz8 had more torque and looked more muscular. What i wish the fz8 had is
    -ABS I Have more peace of my knowing that i have it
    - better tires i slipped a lot with the battlax 016.
    - i found myself looking for another gear when i was in 6th gear.
    What i wish my street triple r has: a better seat my butt and lower back hurts me after 30 min and being skinny i don't have a lot of natural padding
    - a little more torque those 10 lbs of torque make a big difference.
    - the fz8 4 cylinder sounds better
    - the 22k valve adjustment of the fz8
    Overall the street triple has more quality equipment but with a few changes on suspension and tires on the fz8 i wouldn't miss anything of the triple

    I see you like the trip up Blood Mountain. You might try taking the ride down the back side of the mountain to the Mountain Parkway to Blue Ridge. You can pick up State Road 60 across two mountains on some some of the best twisties through the valley, to Suches, and on to US 19 at the Junction of US129. That 60 miles through Suches is some of the best road changes you'll find in Georgia.

    • @Jstroman221
      @Jstroman221 10 років тому

      If you need a bike as sole transportation or commuting I would not recommend any super sport. You can try a sv650, fz8 and others are more sport touring.

    • @JonahSRT
      @JonahSRT 10 років тому

      i am looking for something in between but i have now decided on a used kawasaki z1000, i wont need to buy a bike after having that cause it has plenty of power yet is comfortable.

    • @Jstroman221
      @Jstroman221 10 років тому

      Yea. But it is still a 1,000 don't get me wrong you can learn to ride it but I would not recommend a liter bike with an in line 4 cylinder for your first bike. Do the research on any 650 or an sv 650. That 1000 is a much bigger bike and your skill set is not good enough to ride such a heavy bike. Not saying that it is impossible. I started with gear 759 but I had plenty of motorcycle experience. I believe that power is too much for a person who has never ridden before and the weight of the bike will cause major problems for a beginner. 6ou will not be able to flick and turn the bike like you would on a sv650. Better handling and much more forgiving. Please do much more research and you will realize that a 1000 even if is not a 1000r super bike. Do some reading i know that big bike will cause you trouble. Good luck and take this into consideration.

    I like the fz-09 better. Still good to see you on a naked bike!

    Ride an MT-09. I think it's called FZ-09 in the states. Another huge step in front of the FZ8. And after that, try a Supermoto, like KTM 690 SMC-R. ;)
    Except for the track you're not gonna like the R6 that much, anymore. :)

    You really need to ride a FZ-09. Triple torque and very nimble.
