Small mistake: the ships and the carriage weren't made to support the entire school. Only a select group of students that were allowed to try and enter the tournament traveled with to Hogwarts!
Also: in reference to size: JK Rowling is a massive fan of using the “It’s just Magic” excuse, so objects may appear larger on the inside like the TARDIS without the other fun things that come with being a TARDIS.
@@Giosuke_Giogashikata Always love to find a Doctor Who fan around
@Giosuke_Giogashikata when did she fucking use that? It was only in 4th book that the tent was bigger inside, this ship was huge it self and the whole school was not there.
Imagine you completed the old Hogwarts castle and now there is a completly new one.
Imagine buying the other sets instead 🤯
Happened to me!😢
Happened to me too!
It's like Millenium Falcon
I still have a unopened 2018 hog worts great gall
The box is clearly to help people pour out bags without worrying about losing pieces. I greatly appreciate that.
I usually have to use a casserole dish or roasting pan when there are so many pieces, kind of nice to have its own container, especially when you likely won't finish it in a single session and may need to move it off of a table or something.
Fun fact, the first Quirrell minifigure from 2001 was the first ever fig to have two face prints on the same head
It makes me wonder, was Harry Potter or Star Wars the first IP series to switch from yellow faces to real skin tones? I know both started with yellow but switched somewhere down the line. I'm guessing it happened all at once.
The boxes of that type are generally stronger, maybe lego noticed people have more and more packages damaged in transport? 😊
I know how many I have had damaged. I just a few weeks ago got the Hogsmead Station set, and only one of the boxes was not partially crushed, and even mine has slight damage. The weight of the Lego inside can really hurt the weaker boxes.
The Durmstrang Ship on its own would be an amazing-looking display piece
Yeah. Makes me wish it was sold seperately instead of having the carriage and it’s minifigures bundled in with it bumping it up from probably around 100 to 140. Gonna wait for a sale to pick it up.
I’m spaniard and in that great ship I only see a perfect spanish galleon, with the current flag of my country and the double headed eagle of the spanish Habsburg empire. Thanks Lego for this homage!
Personally, as a fan of the Spanish galleons, I see a carrack.
To me it acutally looks like The Vasa Ship
He pensado lo mismo al verlo 😅
True, a carrack.
You are the only LEGO reviewer that shows AUD when talking about prices.
Hollyonfilm always includes AUD, you must not watch anyone actually based in Australia.
That giant spider thing looks fun!
The "Tiago being honest" drinking game is my new favorite! Just watch a few videos, drink whenever he says something like "If I'm being honest", and get sloshed pretty quickly 😸 (In all honesty though, Tiago, you're one of my favorite LEGO reviewers! Thanks for all your great vids✌)
I’m so excited for these!! The great hall and triwizard arrival sets look great
“Dumbledore goes just as hard” 😂😂
I’m loving how quick the timespan between the reveals and the reviews has become.
But I do not. Too little time for dreams and feedback. Previously, pre-renders were shown and feedback was already taken into account for the final image. Right there, just straight away, the final one. It's horrible(
I think the ship would be great to MOC into a medieval cog or carrack.
Great reviews as always
The interior of the carriage is probably enlarged with magic, like their tents in the Deathly Hallows.
Good to know that men don't have to worry about themselves in the Harry Potter universe. Just use a spell to enlarge it!
12:20 on other reviews ive seen people fold up the rigging at the bottom, moving the 1x1 clip. It looks a lot easier.
This wave really cements the fact that Lego need to make more sailboat with the underwater part of the ship and not just stop the set at the water line
Lego harry potter has done this weird thing where from 2018-2020 they focused on movie accurate Hogwarts play set models, then transitioning away from that entirely in 2021-2023 by making sets that look nothing like the movies at all but have a more dollhouse-like look to them, to now once again re-transition back into a movie accurate hogwarts play set model. Essentially going through 3 different systems in 6 years, not even including the other 2 micro scale hogwarts sets.
Definitely going to make some videos on these. Love how the broom was hidden in the walls. 🔥
can't wait for a review on the new Notre Dame set!!!
Aside from the functional difference (using the box as a bowl when dumping out bags), the new box design seems thinner- less fibers per square area. Of course, this saves on paper usage, but it also reduces carbon emissions during shipping by light weighting the product.
I think the opening in the rock base is the secret entrance that Quirrell used to let the troll into the dungeons
Great catch. That makes a lot more sense now!
wow that new style box is pretty surprising me, gives me vibe of some late 90s and 2000s boxes.
I've been happily building up my forbidden forest so I can't wait to add Aragog.
The Durmstrang ship might be like Newt Scamander’s case of magical creatures where the inside is far bigger than the outside. I think it’s called magical concealment or something like that.
You say the new type of boxes use more paper. In surface area I fully agree, but maybe the paper thickness could slightly decrease as well as the chosen design is more sturdy (which effeiciently could still lead to a reduce volume use of paper).
And honestly, if they would want to save paper: sell sets with online instructions only.
Great review btw!!
Well actually to be fair in the movies, I don't know about the books but in the movies that was the size of the carriage. It was a normal size carriage but remember it's the magic so it opens up and makes infinite room like at the quaditch world cup when they were camping and Harry got into the tent and was like oh my God. It's like a mansion in here. So I guess that's kind of what they're thinking. It doesn't need to be massive because it's part of the magic
I believe they're going back to the larger boxes because of sales.
They see a small down tick in sales for smaller boxes, while larger ones command more attention on the shelf in the store and seems to garner more sales.
BUT, maybe another reason is the boxes are 'thinner'. Meaning the thickness of the cardboard. So maybe they are using the same amount of paper but spread thin, can construct a larger box?
That ship is amazing!
I'm not a Harry Potter fan but I'm a sucker for a good Pirates set and that Tournament Ship looks so good! Might get the set just for that and swap out the sails
tyvm for Review Tiago. Like these appealing sets a lot - again, H.P. grab my attention.
man when i see that ship i am excited for the upcomming endurance ship
The box design is to hold the pieces while you build… an organized of sorts.. I’ve been cutting boxes into that shape for years
@5:00 I think that wall section opening up is how Professor Quirrell is supposed to sneak the mountain troll into the dungeon.
About triwizard tournament set--)Just for the record, in the HP universe there are spells that can make a "hollow" object inside bigger than it is outside (the Beauxbatons used it on their carriage or Hermione on her pocket bag, for example)
Or even at the beginning of the 4th book/4th movie when they were at the Quidditch championship they were living in a tent that was like 4 meters by 2.5 meters on the outside but inside it was as big as a house and everyone had their own bedroom.
I yust love the fact that we finaly can get a great wersion of the great hall! ❤❤❤
I don’t really like the old Harry Potter sets. The builds looks a bit rough, not really smoothed out, and you get too many clones (Harry, Hermione, and Ron)! However, I really like the new 2024 ones, and I love the Harry Potter books and movie very much!
Did you mean the previous hogwarts system or..?
as a castle fan, with zero interest in harry potter, i will have to buy that ship set to remodel into a medieval set
Then why are u here lol
I can 100% see that new potion smoke element being utilised in the next batch of botanicals
In Germany you can already get the Great Hall for 160€ at some stores
The new boxes are interesting, IMO the best would have been the old boxes with a flap to preview the set, or at least like some older ideas set boxes
When/if you have the time, I would love to see your thoughts on the other sets as well! When it comes time for me to really try to narrow down my purchases, I swear I always end up saying “wait- I’ll decide which sets to pick up after I’ve seen Tiago’s reviews!” I really appreciate how honest & fairly quick your videos are- plus your sense of humor is perfect! I love the ship- I’m a huge HP nerd, but I really can’t keep just buying all of the sets- at this rate, I’ll be able to build a human-scale Hogwarts with all of the friggin tan, grey, and sand green castle parts I have! Time to open a Bricklink store.. 😂 but seriously… 😳 thank you for all you do!!!!
Thanks for the review. Please do one of the play scale diagon alley set.. still not sure if should start that. Given we have ucs hogwarts castle at home, will probably skip on ucs play scale hogwarts given the cost. From your review, the 10+ level of detail also makes it harder to justify. ps. Definitely getting the ship.
I like the ship set and for the carriage as well. I'm really hoping for a second Diagon Alley set with Madam Malkin's etc that matches the Adult version set
Are the bags all paper now?
I personally think, that Durmstrang ship fits better in castle theme, since it looks like medieval Karak, and I plan to buy it because of exactly that.
The Hogwarts Castle Great Hall set should have only included the hall and should have been bigger to be more accurate. The bathroom and common room should have been a separate set, like the potions classroom
The potions classroom is a great set, the new elements are cool, should be cheaper though
The Triwizard tournament set is awesome, the carriage and ship are amazing, should be cheaper
I believe they've already done a troll attack set, and they've done the common rooms as part of the house banner series. It's also a location never shown in the book or films, which is probably why it's a side build here.
Can't wait ❤
I like some of the figures in these sets, like the Troll, many of the great hall characters and ironically Barty Crouch senior, but the prices are quite steep so I’ll have to think about it.
Impressive spider vocab
does durmstrang ship have sails made from cloth?
Great review! ❤ Personally my favorite Harry Potter set is the Hogwarts icons. Love the Hedwig design
These sets are so good! Best castle sets this year (most of the minifigs excluding the students and Barty Crouch are usable in a castle MOC and the sets themselves are great ). This might be the year that I have to go deep on HP. Not a fan of franchise LEGO, but I might give these a chance.
Are he shields printed, or are those stickers as well? That would be a pitty if stickers.
Stickers... 🥲
@@TiagoCatarino Such a shame ... I guess this set shows how LEGO could be even cheaper with Castle sets ... T_T Thanks!
Please review the mandrake set!
I need the great hall so bad
TIAGO IS BACK!!
I'm confused, are they starting this hogwarts system over? They've been releasing these connecting sets for years like room of requirement, hospital wing etc. I thought the chamber of secrets set served as the great hall portion of the school when connecting everything. The whole system is confusing they never really lay out the correct way to connect everything
They restarted the Hogwarts system earlier this year.
It looks like the boxes may use less cardboard? The cardboard looks thinner.
I want to start collecting the castle sets; however, not knowing what the finished product will look like or what it will even cost is holding me back!
I hope that at some point we will have at least a few months when all the sets that make the castle will be available yo buy simultaneously
I am not a huge Harry Potter fan-I’ve watched most of the movies, bits and pieces of some, and 100% both LEGO games as well as getting all achievements for them on the Xbox 360-but as a LEGO and Golden Age of Sail connoisseur, I absolutely love the attention to detail in this new Hogwarts castle wave, and the ship! I’m definitely getting it, BrickLink ordering some conquistadors or parts to make my own, and arming it against the Blue Coats at El Dorado Fortress and against the Barracuda. As far as the Hogwarts castle, I love that LEGO have made so many variants, both in buildable play sets and in complete dioramas, to provide fans an opportunity to own their own Hogwarts castle at whatever playability or affordability they are looking for. This is a great new medium between the dioramas and the child friendly play sets. I love how they provide depth and detail, whilst retaining playability through hinges and rails. Seeing the bathroom pulled out blew my mind. If only LEGO had done that with numerous other sets from the past.
It's a shame the shield pieces aren't prints 😭
Including the carriage to the ship doesn’t make sense since we’ve already had the carriage in a separate set
The boat house isnt for me but those mini figs are nice!
The new great hall really puts a dent over the old one back in 2018.
I think people should start evaluating price perhaps by weight rather than price per piece. Might be more accurate regarding things like the Rivendell roof tiles and larger pieces and molds ie bigfigs and dinosaurs.
i just realized this guy only gets abt 100k views a video, GUYS HE DESERVES 1 Million this content is amazing!
Oddjob minifig is great
With the carriage, I think I'm just going to add another winged horse in front of the one there.
So are the shields on the ship stickers?
Yes
Viktor Krum looks like Kraven the hunter
Two distincts sets for the carriage amd the ship might have been better strategy. People wanting both could have both, people wanting only one without spending too much could have one. And like said, people into Pirates or Castle but not into Harry Potter would have been interested as well. But now you have to be both a Pirate and Castle fan at the same time, or be ready to pay a lot for half the set.
Castle fans may want that ship as could be from late Middle Ages!
This theme has been going for over 20 years and they STILL haven't made a minifigure scale Hogwarts Castle. There is no excuse. Where is my $50,000USD set that's the size of an entire room?
I didn’t like the last hogwarts because the ceilings and archways were soo low! The original original was way more grand.
Pretty sure that is what this new run is aiming for. All three of the pieces so far are basically slightly scaled down versions of the film castle sections. In a few years, we'll probably have a full sized castle that greatly resembles the film.
@@robertgronewold3326 Minifigure scale is like the UCS AT-AT, where the set and minifigures are the same scale as a Human next to an AT-AT.
A minifigure scale Hogwarts Castle would be the size of a house.
Great sets, what else can i say. But there's no way I'm buying them, because my Hogwarts and grounds 76419 set is more than enough for my collection. I might look out for new minifigures tho
Do you get to keep everything that LEGO® sent you or do you have to send it back?
What annoys me about those combined sets is that they are far from being on scale. The boat house is way too big compared to the great hall. Also, the mini figs are not on scale at all compared to the castle
I need that ship for me pirate crew
THE BOAT IS BACK!!!
9:34
Madame Maxime looks so cursed
13:27 Barad-dûr incoming
As nice as the new modular castle looks, I don’t like the new system. Those sliding sections are probably gonna reduce the modularity of the different sets. Also, the fact that some sections lack any wall, it looks weird when it’s stuffed in Hogwart’s cave.
I like the great hall set but it feels silly for them to claim this is going to be the most detailed Hogwarts yet when the last one had an entire bathroom set and this one only has it as a dinky miniature build
Cool
The completed Hogwarts might be the first 1000 dollar Lego set
why is the great hall entrance cloister so tall 💀
I wonder if the cast of Harry Potter get royalties every year from there face been on the Lego figures
The only one I was considering in this wave was the ship because everything else is either 'been done before' or creatures (which I am not interested). After watching that portion of the video, I am definitely skipping. Money goes to the aweseom Notre Dame Paris instead.
On one hand I want more classes like that
On Other hand I really dont understand why they made Troll set a part of big hall. That could have been 40$ and it would still bring Lego MUCH more cash.
New ship looks good but its really weak toy.
I am very sad about this wave, but not because it’s bad but because I’ve already build a full Hogwarts Castle moc out of the older 2019 sets and it makes no sense to me to buy „another Hogwarts“ 😢😢😢😢
Here’s to hoping pirates fans buy the ship so we can get bulk student torsos
Harry Potter nerds be complaining.
How many 1989 Batmobiles do you have?
Where's diagonal alley?
The great hall and dmst strring ship is my fav great preview 👍
How tf.... These aren't out yet... Not fair
I really like the potions classroom. It is like the moment books.
comparing this first two sets by piece count is not wise, as you ar counting Hippogriff mold and thestral as one part, and they are whey more expensive than any piece in the other set 😊
Excellent my friend excellent
I like the box now you can put sets away in their box.
All I Know Is…
Sorcery Is Nothing
To Be Taken Lightly…
How many bags does Lego Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall (76435) have? And does it have a white box?
Ashnflash made a short showing off the new box and showing all the bags in it.
At least 16 it looks like
