Hello Tiago, I'm Marcos the designer of Brick Cross. Thank you for your review, very proffessional and clear as always. I really appreciate all the things you've pointed out, having your thoughts on my very first product after so many years designing with Lego is a kind of surreal experience I must say. Some of your compliments, specially on small builds techniques in which you are a reference for me and for the fan community, really touched me deeply. I would not like to end this message without thanking the Bricklink Design Team and Lego Model Governance for all the passion and effort they've put in the developing of this model. Nothing of this could be possible without your help. Keep up your great work Tiago!
Cool design Man, really, it looks clean af 👍👏👏
It’s a really great looking set and I look forward to trying to get one.
You should feel proud! This set looks beautiful. You’ve forever left your mark on LEGO with an awesome set
I predict this set will be one of the first to sell out among the five. Congratulations in advance!
This set looks amazing, especially the little details like the piano and the oven
This is really cool, I love the idea of a train track running behind all the Modular’s.
For those wondering (since I had to look it up), Dark Ages refers to the period, often teen years, where you grow out of and become "too cool" for a kids' toy like Lego. Of course, most rediscover and appreciate Lego in their college/young adult period, and therefor end the dark age.
Doesn't have to be during your teens though, it's just a prolonged gap of time between collecting and playing with lego. Just most of us stop as we grow and hit puberty and pick it back up later in life.
@@Jarv62990 For me, it was more the gap between when my parents stopped buying me LEGO and when I started being able to afford it for myself.
That age was when i switched to Technic (some 30 years ago), i only got into my Dark ages when i was a student and had no money and time left to build with lego anylonger.
Loved that this one was the first to sell out with 30,000. Look forward to getting mine!
Tiago, I will always appreciate you for the oldschool way of making videos. Please, always keep on improving! Never use AI, never steal, always keep on bringing the best quality content that's out there. Thank youu~!
'NEWSBrick' is definitely a nod to WHSmith. i love the london inspired station.
I'm already thinking about modifying this by adding 1 brick height to each level, and then adding a 3rd floor to just the tan section. That might give it better scale next to official modulars as well as greater presence. 0:57 is a good example of how it currently scales next to official modulars. Regardless, Marcos did an amazing job with this one! Lots of great options for incorporating into a city that has 360 viewing angles and trains!
lol you’re a joke 🤣
Hi Tiago, thanks for the review! Incredible You already got this set, crowdfunding hasn't even started yet! Please mention the name of the designer next time, he deserves it!
This set is incredibly London tube inspired, I love it
The NEWSBrick store screams WHSmith
@@joevictor53I’m kinda guessing they got the permission to use it, but decided to make it more LEGO CITY-esque
Not the tube, just a British train station
this match’s the look of flinders street station more
I'm so happy this IDEA set gets a second chance to become a product!
I always love watching your videos. I also love that the quality is consistent with your Videos
You always have the best b roll footage of the sets you review man
This may be a unpopular opinion but i do think the Brick link sets are most of the time way better than "official" normal sets and this is most certainly not an exception great model !
I've been thinking something similar of late. There's certainly more detail to many of the Bricklink sets although it's possible that's less appealing to more casual Lego fans.
Thanks for another great review. I actually like the black breaking up the teal because I think it ties it in with the rest of the building.
This station is so much easier to fit in a city than studgate
6:31 Mushroom house !
I need a review of that one !!!
The "public piano" is a nice touch. For added realism there should be a guy playing it while another guy waving a Chinese flag is being led away by security 😁
it looks great, but the actual station is a bit smaller than i hoped
Im so excited for the logging railway! That narrow gauge loco is so cute
I didn't take the height of the building facade into consideration if compared to the other modular buildings... I'd say I'm slightly disappointed because I expected it to be more towering and awe-inspiring. By the way I'm gonna buy it and make it a stylish part of my city, hands down!
Ill definitely be grabbing one of these. So cool!
Such a great compliment given to that piano considering your past work
So glad I ordered this. Nice that Lego sent you an advanced copy. Gonna have to wait another year to receive it. I think the BDP1 series are shipping in a few months since we purchased them last year. Can't wait!
Fantastic set, nothing is comparable in city train sets, i think this would fit nicely into any city layout, love the details, colour scheme.
This will be my #1 get when it goes live, followed by the logging train.
What an amazing set, definitely on the wishlist
I’m definitely gonna get this one
I love how the cat feels judgemental there in the backgournd.
Hi Tiago and Marcos. I am a big fan of his work and can’t wait to build this. Am sure it will pass the threshold of 3000. I am certain that Steinedrucker will provide prints (as he did for Studgate) and than we have a highly desirable set. Thanks for the review Tiago and your passion Marcos
This model is fantastic! Too bad it never became an Ideas set
I love this design and definitely going to try and buy it.
It was nice to see you at Brickworld!
yep, all teal for sure. the black blends with the wrought iron railings.
I love how the BDP sets take Lego design and texturing to the max
It honestly looks amazing.
What a great looking set.
Tiago, can you do a video about the LEGO designing and pitching process? What does that actually look like? I'm sure a lot of people would like to hear about it
The newspaper stores sign reminds me of WHSmith
Very cool
will you review the rest of the sets?
Cool!
Really great that you already have 500k subscribers! I can still remember when you only had a few thousand
I don't get how opening functions being blocked by connecting the set to others is a problem. Heck the Lion Knights castle I just finished has opening functions that don't work if you connect it to the other half of the set
Nice set
Excellent review and excellent model.
Maybe the teal color choice on the back is to look like antique wrought iron, which can sometimes take on a tealish hue due to corrosion?
Is there a Nickelback reference in the glasshouse bar?
I have this set bookmarked so I can snag one. I have a feeling it is going to go fast.
I like the set! I certainly get the point about the size of the main station building, but there are real station buildings that mimic the design of the large terminus buildings. I remain to be convinced about the price, though.
The news vendor's logo looks similar to the WHSmith logo familiar to rail travellers in the UK. 🤔
It looks like this set could easily be adjusted to house a bus station in the greenhouse area/bar, or even a trolley station.
Well you have sold it to me, and the series two just started 2 days ago so I will go and order it now.
Because there's no long distance service to Heartlake City I assume this is just a smaller terminus with only local services. It really reminds me one of the many smaller stations in London, even some Tube stations.
As far as the colour for the awning over the platform goes, i don't like the teal used, but i am used to Dutch stations where awnings are plane and boring :P (in colour at least, some older stations are built with beautifull wrought iron)
So i have a lot of difficulty coming up with a better colour choise to pick as what would be my opinion.
Thank you for the review! It sounds openminded and honest.
Awesome! But I am confused about crowdfunding. Is it that if the set doesn’t get over 3,000 pre orders you still get the set, or do you lose your money?
You’ll get your money back and the set isn’t produced
@@TiagoCatarino Thanks! I thought Lego released a new line of sets called gambling lol
It is even better than Tiago said. When you order LEGO takes a temporary hold or pre-authorization on your credit card. The pre-authorized amount will just disappear after a few days, and you are not charged until your order ships, which is about 6 months after the crowdfunding. So, if the crowdfunding does not succeed, you will see the pre-authorised amount, but it will disappear and you are not charged.
That being said: I predict this one to sell out very fast, maybe even as fast as the Mountain Fortress did in BDP Series 1. That sold out its entire run of 30k sets in two hours., so better be quick if you want this beautiful LEGO station.
@@koendecrock Wow! That’s awesome! Thanks for that information.
It's like the hasbro haslabs
this thing is going to sell, fast!
Nah never, as Lego's researcher know - people don't Like Lego trains, so nobody will buy anything train related. Why do you think Lego never made a proper train station themselves? It wouldn't sell and stay on the shelves for aaaaages. Right? LOL
And unfortunately many are going to be resold by speculators with interest.
@@darkroy610 🤣first set of BDP series 2 to get sold out, within 5 hours.
Cute!
I think this one will sell out the fastest.
i love ur content tiagoooo
Hey!! I know this guy! You’re awesome
they will sell out in less than 24 hours
They're still available rn tho
Any idea why they only produce 30.000 sets? If its pre-order anyway and they check if there is enough interest before producing the set, why not adopt the produced amount?
This one’s really cool
What's the Lego dark ages? Am I missing something?
This is awesome - I am looking forward in pre-ordering this when ready.
I wish you'd mentioned the similarity between this model and 910002: Studgate Train Station from a previous BDP.
While I love the other one because it comes with track and a train this one is much easier to fit in a modular City. And I'll be able to run my trains behind the modulars which is awesome.
Thanks for reminding me😂
Tiago, PLEASE review the Lego Sanctom Sanctorum.😂
The floor to floor height makes it look tiny as a modular.
Awesome set! Should be an official more widely available set
A lot of great accurate details
The references are cool
4:03 I agree, it would be a great useful print
I wish I had the budget to get this
It's interesting to hear the kind of details lego designers are tuned into. Similar to the kind of philosophical stuff you hear from magic the gathering designers
Hey Tiago, I just got finished building a pretty impressive MOC designed by a creator on rebrickable. It's a compound microscope which is an alternate build for the Saturn V 21309. I won't share the link directly as I think UA-cam might not like it but it's easy enough to find with a quick Google.
I think you'd really like it and I'd be interested to see your review!
I love how the bus stop has 211b on it, which is the number on the tiny Lego London bus from couple years ago, and coincidently Sherlock Holmes' house address number
How u get this set do far in advance
Who was able to get one?!
They're still available
@@TheRandompaint not anymore 😉
Ya i'm not feeling it from the size. Its great an all but just scaled down to much for what it meant to represent.
that mushroom house tho 👀
Genuinely concerned for the wallets of modular building fans!
All of the weird colour choices are very British designs that this model is based on and make perfect sense imho
Looks awesome train platform nice train track behind it great review 👍
I think it is more expensive compared to other Lego sets as if they only make 30000 of them compared to the millions for a Lego set, cost will be higher per unit, as you have to create new programs for robots, packaging and the more you produce of a product the cheaper it gets to make it.
Looks ok. My issue would be how to integrate it into a city. Really you want to see both sides i.e. the entrance façade and the back with the platform. Certainly in my own city that would be difficult as in most cases you only see the front. Long story short, nice enough but a combination of cost and what to do with it would make it a no.
Exactly. I would like to get this set but you essentially can only display one side and it’s sadly not worth it in that case
The teal color represents aged copper, maybe.
The price increase is because Lego has to share profits with the winner.
What are the set numbers ?
Damn why I got this video so late.
They all sold out! Do you think they will sell more?
That kitchen is clearly just supposed to be an apartment above the shop.
This is a stand alone in my opinion
Hi
This is super and a step beyond the previous station design by Brickester.
My only gripe, the teal shelter, it’s awful!
Tiago podes fazer alguns videos em portugues ?os em ingles sao bons mas uns de pt n tinha problema
Can’t wait to add to Harry pottery set
been looking forward to this but ya..the color choices i dont really like. definitely can be swapped so i'll be playing around it for sure
👏WE👏NEED👏A👏LEGO👏AQUARIUM👏SET👏
4:44 Hey Tiago I think the teal is supposed to represent toned copper, like the Statue of Liberty 🗽
They don't make support pillars from copper, it's not strong enough, it's cast iron in old stations. Sometimes they paint iron pillars teal if the roof is made from copper but it doesn't seem the case here.
at 4:48, the cheese should have been part 6338182 instead of 4504381
To bad you can’t open the door unless you have unlocked the dynamite ability. 😄
If you attach it to other modular buildings the train tracks will be completely obscured. There would be no point in running trains if you can't see them.
Depends what angle you place the set. I plan to put it in a Lego City at a side angle.
Could you please review Lego Despicable Me 4 Sets?
They missed on not calling the station Brickston
This looks great, but a bit expensive for an 'unofficial' lego build. I like the Mushroom house a bit more.
I think this series I might only get the ominous isles
Too short for a train station but nice idea
