Amazon is voted as the most "trustworthy" brand by the Indian consumers. The prime reason it is way ahead of Flipkart and Snapdeal is its customer-centric approach, reliability and the trust consumers have on it. In India, you have to pay the price for customer's sentimental value. Once a customer gone, it's hard to get back the loyalty.
Why is she so *hopeful* about Amazon succeeding in India? I mean amazon is already too big it has to be broken down, Monopolies like this are no good 😓
At the end consumer get's lowest prices on offer so who cares if he does philanthropy or not. Besides he has started another space company. That's the problem middle class have with wealthy people they want them to donate all of the money.
@@ashish6345 Offers and discounts are about gaining market share and finishing stock. Once they have a monopoly, they have no incentive to reduce costs and the only discounts will only be there on old items so that they can get rid of them.
The image of india which is portraying here is typically western minded. Old pictures with stereotyping. Oh western media its 2021 lots of changed and changing. 🤣
I also have a suggestion for Amazon. they can start paid tours of their head office in India. I am sure given its location, design and size there will be many visitors who will be willing to pay a fortune and see the office and how Amazon operates. Like the Coke museum in Atlanta.
I'd much rather spend my money in local shops and help their life improve rather than help Amazon grow even larger and have more power. In the end, Amazon will cost you more than local shops if they get market dominance. This has been proven time and again in the Western nations. Anyways, Flipkart was always better than Amazon. The only reason to get Prime in Amazon is for the Prime Videos.
Amazon's refund process is very poor compare it takes 7-10 days to get refund from Amazon from Flipkart, but Flipkart's refund money gets transferred immediately as soon as we return the package.
I am not sure whether Amazon will succeed in future or not but what I do know is that CNBC has swelled over 900K subscribers and seem to have a bright future.

I think they were and are always free to sell their amazon basics, entire chain of echo and anything exclusive here. Govt. never barred them from doing so ! They are a major player and will start extracting profit by much less than a decade
Amazon is primarily a market place and a logistics company with scale. This is how they should approach local vendors and they'll capture a good part of the market but hopefully there will be strong competition for a long time for consumer's sake.
no, i am sorry... i lived in bangalore for 6 months - not long, i know, but still enough to know. why?`because the adressystem in india doesnt work at all. you order online, give your adress and can be 100% sure the delivery guy will call and ask where you live.
I know people who work for amazon and I am influenced by their bitterness. In USA Amazon publicly has bragged about how they pay top pay for warehouse jobs and ect. Well what they fail to mention is that the reason Amazon.com increased pay for workers is because they took away their stock options. Rather than the richest man in history generously reward it's employees for helping create its empire, it instead robbed the employees from anything that could be valuable in the future for a dollar or two more per hour in the present. Like I mentioned people are paying a few cents less than retail value for crap you could buy at a flee market or garage sale.
Amazon understand indian market very well and according to it adapt itself that's why they are getting successful in india I personally love this brand
According to my judgment and being a Prime customer since many years, what I have observed is we are hooked to Amazon and partly Flipkart. Amazon mainly because of Prime membership and free deliveries, one day/ two day delivery, hassle free returns, professional packaging, awesome customer support, Cashbacks, Prime videos etc. Even Flipkart and Snapdeal are good with immediate return policies. Whatever u wanna buy u first check it online. I have bought AC, refrigerator, too online. Also Amazon brings loads of stuff that was previously not available in Indian markets. Also a small local shop cannot hold everything you might need. It has definitely eased the shopping experience. Also we really appreciate the employment generation by Amazon. More jobs you create more influence you'll have on the ruling class. I have heard about the carbon footprint and stuff but cannot source everything locally in practical sense. I believe in a future of Amazon and other giants too in this enormous Indian market who loves shopping. Also waiting what Reliance is planning for entry in e retail in India.

Prime has done far better than netflix/hotstar in understanding Indian audience and brought up Indian content like "Mirzapur", "Pataal Lok" , "Panchaayet", "The Family Man" which has tremendously successful to make amazon a household name in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, towns and even in rural india, the india most popularly known as "Bharat".

Flipkart is better in electronics and fashion

Amazon has such a good ecosystem that you don't want to buy from any other online site if even they have cheaper price. And do not forget Amazon prime.
Most important factor is price. When I want to purchase a particular product from e commerce I compare it on both Amazon and Flipkart. Wherever I get a better deal I purchase from that place. Delivery time of both e-commerce is comparable. But I think only one department where Amazon isnt comparable with Flipkart is fashion. Flipkart is killing this field with its subsidiaries (Myntra and Jabong)

I also have a suggestion for Amazon. they can start paid tours of their head office in India. I am sure given its location, design and size there will be many visitors who will be willing to pay a fortune and see the office and how Amazon operates. Like the Coke museum in Atlanta.
''fortune'' lmao
I'd much rather spend my money in local shops and help their life improve rather than help Amazon grow even larger and have more power. Not really. They are garbage compared to Flipkart. And I have been a Prime member for 2 years.

*Can CNBC Succeed in India 🇮🇳? 🤔*
P. S. - Why is CNBC so obsessed with India!
