You should go to the dollar store and try out those products. My broke college student self couldn’t afford good products and that’s how I got started with detailing my car.
Bought a few products at the dollar store, went to the self car wash and started like that.
    You should try something similar.

I would start with a mix of Walmart and Harbor Freight. I was able to get free microfiber towels as well as packs of foam brushes those can take out a few dollars from how much you spend at Walmart and let you get a wax or other small things. Plus save up over a couple weeks 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @marcokrueger3399

It is an investment, if you want to do it really good. But think about how long these products last. I honestly think it is cheaper than going to a car wash. In Germany, I have to pay around 7 to 10 Euros for a car wash but I can wash my car for about 4 to 5 Euros including the water (pressure washer) and the products. And the fun of course ;-)
Edit: You're not allowed to wash your car at home, so you have to wash your car at a washing place, that's why the water is that expensive.

Amy Damon most products that people don’t like that are “generic” actually work well. People just don’t use them properly. Or they just do a half ass job because they don’t want to put their full effort into it.

One suggestion I have is that when you buy any inexpensive brush is to "flex and fluff" the bristles before using it to dislodge any that are loose or broken so that you can avoid having to pick them out of the cracks and crevices. My father taught me that trick for interior house painting and it has saved me a BUNCH of headaches when cutting in and painting trim.

One of tips that I've picked up a while ago is for inside of the windshield. Take clean microfiber and just do a wipe. Then take another soak it with rubbing alcohol wipe . Then take Windex on another clean one and do final wipe. Super clean. Another tip is when you do a final rinse take off the hose attachment and just use that to rinse the car from top to bottom. It minimizes drying. It doesn't bead.

Thanks for the video, since being on "Shelter in Place" I have decided to detail my own car and I had not done that in a long time. I used the wax you recommended and it was great! My detail job was way better for $50 and some change than what I usually pay $150 for. As I was detailing my car, I found spots in the car that where filthy and the detailers had repeatedly missed. It is clear to me they only clean the surface and I'm much better at a deep clean because it is my car. It's really gratifying to see the result and if I put on an audio book, it makes the job pretty........dare I say....the process was surprisingly relaxing.

I'm a shop owner too and I've found a couple of products that I really like. First I like to use RainX MultiSurface for my windows(this is the only RainX product I can endorse) it works extremely well and leaves no streaks when used properly, and my properly I mean with Waffle weave towels. I use autofiber's no streak freak towels and always was them seperately from other towels with a detergent from P&S called Rags to Riches. Wash cool/cold and air dry again seperately. If the windows are particularly grimy with off gassing, and maybe nicotine I pre wash with a damp magic eraser. Lastly another P&S product I love is Express interior cleaner. It is reasonably priced can be diluted 1:1 foams nicely with a detail brush and wipes clean easily. It also won't leave those nasty streaks if it happens to dry on the surface, smells nice too! Love the channel! Keep it up and God bless.. Detailing by Brent

I think maybe a $75 budget would get more equipment to help with the cleaning. $50 is hardly enough but you still did a great job cleaning the car for $50 and you have enough supplies left to do several more cars. Great job, now I need to head to the detail cleaning store.

    Hey, i have a question.
i have a nasty soy sauce stain on my seat. i had bought a new bottle and it leaked :-(. How can i best tackle this? Will i get the colour out as well? the seats are a standard fabric covered seat and my car is a Volkswagen Golf. I am afraid to start with any kind of product that would discolour or damage the fibres.
    thanks alot!

Come to think of it, that would be an awesome idea. You could get with a couple of local stores (like Home Depot/Walmart/etc) and set up a shop in their parking lot. They’d get publicity from your videos and you could have new content for each visit. Detailing peoples cars while they shop and *fingers crossed* video their reaction when they come out with a clean vehicle! Maybe even collaborate with other UA-cam Detailers!

I recommend Turtle Wax Jet Black Spray Detailer. I use it on my black 2018 Chevy Impala after every (weekly) wash and my car has a phenomenal gloss now. It's a detailing wax, so it has some carnauba in it, and it's tinted to increase the depth of the black. I used TW Liquid Ice a few weeks ago for my seasonal wax. The water beads beautifully now.
