First and foremost, I absolutely love this guy and his creations. I truly do follow him. HOWEVER, just a point needs saying. People, please do not glue up your projects like this. CA glue is fine for a hurry, like this, shooting a video. But for best results ALWAYS use proper wood glue to make connection. Glue MUST cover ALL THE SURFACES of the joint. This is obviously a demo video. CA glue will harden the wood affected and resist stain. Use sparingly. I am in no way trying to be rude. Warm regards and brotherly love to him and his family.
I agree 100% with your glue up comments. And clamp it up during the glue up operation. This gentlemen has the skills to spend a bit more time on measuring, overall fit up and fine tuning joints and squareness. Personally, I think if he did those couple of things, it would transform this cool decorative light into a real piece of art. Good work sir!

That is the worst workmanship I have ever seen. Nail holes filled in....nope, large gaps filled in...nope, detail sanding....nope, wood glue used, nope.

There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. Visually it's very attractive, build wise,it had no strength from random injection of brad nails & dribbling of CA glue, but I like the overall effect

Its a thin super glue. Normally use an accelerator. Think its called Cyanoacrylate.
