If I had $22K for a watch I wouldn’t even consider this watch for a second.
As you mentioned, the movement layout is very clean and organized compared to many other open face dials and skeletonized movements. That's my favorite aspect of this watch.
Just ordered one thanks bruce
Jacob and Co., gaudy multiplied by 10 million. Seriously it's more bling than any man or woman ever needs...in THEIR ENTIRE LIFETIME.
I think J&Co. should drop this line and focus on creating more classic pieces, this looks overpriced in my opinion. I added a preowned Jacob & Co. Grand Complication Palatial that I bought in Switzerland to my collection a few years ago. Even though it was more expensive, it was worth every penny. As a collector, I see watches as investments. I'll do some research to find out its current value and maybe make some profits. Great video by the way Bruce.
Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $22million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.
How did you grow your portfolio to $22m, I'm impressed, I have a lump sum in the bank, the rates are not impressive so I'm moving it, what's your cash flow like?
I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs like VOO and SCHD. I have also started acquiring some tech ETFs, including IITU and IUCM.
Sure it's all about DCA, could you please share her name with me or any details so I can look her up online? Thanks!
She is well known as - Diana Leayani Lara. please do your own research.
Invicta
Just bought it - got it for 15K, great deal - great watch. super light, great movement - only lacking lume.. but there´s always something.. - still, don´t regret it!!
What a great review Bruce! I really like your final statement. I've been on a long collectors journey myself (10th year) and my perspective changed multiple times. Even this brand has some controversial recognition I really like what I see for the price. Nowadays I could totally see me rocking such a piece! Especially compared to similar styled watches. If you'd buy an Ulysse Nardin or Hublot you pay at least that price and compared to them I think this Jacob & Co. has an impeccable presence and finish. Thanks for showing Bruce!
The people that hate on this brand just don’t understand it. While a lot of these pieces aren’t my style I still appreciate the horological innovations Jacob makes. You can always pickup one
Of these regular lines on C24 for way under retail as well. I got a 5
Time zone with diamonds for under $1000! That was an $8000 watch not long ago.
This is no daily driver but it's definitely cool. Big price for an occasional use piece but like u said, this collector isn't worried about spending big dollars. He's got a watch collection, a car collection, and art collection, and a big house😂
A fool and his mony are soon parted!!!! Old Jake laughing all the way to the bank....
Ahhh hell no!!! I like to be able to tell what time it is when I look at my watch.
Nope.. just nope. Jacob and Co.. the invicta of high end watches.. but 1000x the price.
Nailed it
thanks for saying it aloud... worst watches ever.
Nothing screams illegal 👽 more than an invicta!!!!
Though I hate Jacob and Co. watches...they give new meaning to the words ostentatious and gaudy...but they are engineered WAY BETTER than Invicta. I will give them that.
I love the case on these. Out of my price range but I still like the looks.
Wouldn’t be my first choice for $22k but Imo that is a great looking watch.
Sorry but I find the price hilarious, the style is not my taste but more than this the quality of the movement finishing is really not enough for this price range. And that's all you see.
The movement finishing looks adequate for the price in my opinion.
@@chia-mingyang5804 22k? You can have a Glashütte Original in full gold for the same price. A very different style but miles away in quality in my opinion.
@@chia-mingyang5804 it's strange my answer "disappeared" but I was saying that for the same price you could get a full gold glashütte original that has a better finishing in my opinion.
What do you mean by the quality of the movement finishing is not enough, do you own one? Have you opened one to repair it? Or you are just repeating talking points for the sake of it ??
@@tryingmann3458 I don't know why my responses are disappearing but the movement is all you can see, and it's my opinion that for example some watches from Germany with visibly better finished movements are available in precious metal for the same price or half in steel.
Call that the super Skeleton watch with super price. Wonder what it cost to get their watches serviced.
I bought this popular video watch from MaMaCoo , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
Pretty funky. Even if I could afford it, it's a bit too funky for me though.
Oohh wow, i´m quite surprised, i didn´t expect all of the hate on Jacob. I tried a couple of epic x and i find them to be atractive, fun and very confortable, but yeah i agree with bruce, this watch will only appeal to you if you already own value for money watches. I would not buy as an "investment", and i would not pick J&C as my first watch brand, but already owning Rolex, Vacheron, Zenith, you sometimes don´t want to be so serious, that´s why i own watches like the Zenith Chroma II, i think this epic X would make a great gift or an addition to my "not a bank, i actually wear" watches.
I live in a touristy city, when i started to collect watches i noticed, every time i go near luxury hotels, everybody was wearing the same watches, either a nautilus or a submariner, very rarely i saw something diferent, some RMs here and there, and i was like "guys, dont you get that nobody cares what you are wearing because everybody is wearing the same!", but yes, i guess you take the risk of people asking what invicta are you wearing haha.
You are right It lacks a bracelet
For this price I'd rather be looking at a free sprung balance and a stainless steel chapter ring. it may be painted, but it looks like plastic. This design could be nice in more muted colors and a smaller size.
Ahhhh overpriced Invicta and nothing more!!!
It’s hideous not worth a quarter of that ….
I would ask to be PAID to wear that ugly watch.
I could see myself buying this for $3000-$4000 but not much more than that. Its really cool, but man....for $22,000 there are SOOO many other options I'd choose over this. The skeletonization is done really well but the finishing looks pretty awful for this price point.
The more they cost, the uglier they are. Jacob & Co is the king of BAD TASTE. At least Invicta is not arrogant.
Very cool. Just not something I'd ever buy. I've always liked the Zenith defy as well
Yikes 🤢 to each their own.
Meh. I remember the 5 zone nasty digital watches they used to sell. They started off really ripping people off with junk. The movement is nice but not the case, IMHO.
2,200 at best
At least the $22k gets you 100m water resistance. Quarter million Richard Mille is only 30m 😂
Manufactured by invicta
Good to know they're garbage from the top all the way to the bottom. You have to have a certain level of tackiness associated with your personality to buy something like Jacob and Co.
Looks so cheap for the price
I like the video, but I would include why you think it is 20K on the inside. The outside/external and brand name definitely assist with why it is 20k and the video helped in that regard, but the internals I wasn't sold on, based on the video. Is it hand crafted? What is the movement inside i missed that part? So is it all hand crafted or just some parts? Is it in house? Sorry I haven't investigated J&Co cuz they are always outside my price range. This one I could maybe pull off, but I don't see why I would based on the internals how is it better than an expensive high end Glashutte or A. Lange? Just curious. The internals seem like a mystery to me on this one, I'll have to research as well. But i really like your camera work, you didnt spend half the video of a picture of you talking. I liked how the watch was on the screen 100% of the time.
Hi there, the movement inside is from Concepto, La Chaux de fonds, Switzerland. Their basic caliber I think, is approx €300-400, so I'm guessing this one may be €1,000. Cheers.
I would rather get Rolex Batman for that and live happy
Not sick..
All the negative comments on here. These watches are obviously not targeted at you. 😂
Just tried on the baby blue. Soo beautiful and exotic in person. Rose gold internal parts are luxurious. Feather light strap was one of my favorite parts actually. RM is similar. As Bruce noted, this would be a great watch for a collector that’s bored of their current Patek, rolex, etc daily rotation.
I think the J&Co. should drop this line and create a more classic entry. That band is not high enough quality to match the rest of the watch. J&Co. is an incredible brand that makes excellent, innovative movements.
$22.000
I've seen this in the metal and was actually surprised by how it looked. The strap wasn't good but the watch itself was pretty cool
I know that Jacob & Co gets some hate, but they have some great models and I would love one in my collection one day.
I like it
I'll take 2.
Whimsical and fun
Not my style and couldn’t pull it off, but very cool
For 22K the no brainer deal would be the 1957 Omega Trilogy
Seamaster
Speedmaster
Railmaster
3 watches > 1 watch
Lmao, 22k? I would rather just own some more restrained, versatile options at a fraction of the price.
Is it cool? Honestly, yes.
Never realised how gaudy and vulgar their watches are. This one is OK, but a brand that celebrates ugliness and covers it with diamonds and shiny-shiny is not for me.
