I remember the early iterations of J&Co back in the late 90s when it was the hip hop, rap brand... It was incredibly garish then, like the early Swatch watch for rich rappers. At least now they're bringing out as you say, 'moving art pieces' as opposed to just gaudy pieces of flash

Jacob & Co. are ultra high end fashion watches meant to show off the maker’s horological prowess. And, like you I would never wear any of their watches, but, I do admire the craftsmanship.
My thoughts are that Jacob and Co. are primarily a jewelry company, therefore their watches are more like Cartier than Lange. Yes, very different than Cartier, but similar difference to how the jewelers differs. I would wear the Opera and Astronomia collections, not on a daily basis (too big!!!) but as an art piece. This is a black/white tie dinner party watch. Women get all the fun with jewelry with big unwieldy pendants, time for us men to get something totally useless, unnecessary, unwieldy, and absolutely beautiful. On another note, their paper catalog is pretty nice. It’s also probably the only thing I’ll ever own from Jacob and Co, but it’s certainly mine. And I have the bag from the boutique to prove it!!!

You can compare Jacob&Co watches to haute couture, sometimes very avant garde and in some cases even not wearable at all, very limited, expensive af and not ment for the the average folks. But those type of rich poeple who buy those watches do have enough events where they can wear such pieces. I remember seeing Mcgregor wearing a Jacob&Co when he arrived at the UAE.

Jacob & Co is for a different class of watch lovers, more people who are collectors of art. They are all masterpieces and it shows that Jacob himself is passionate about watch making. I was hoping to see Jacob in Dubai when he was here last month but could not do so. Till then I will stay with my Rolex as one cannot go wrong with a Rolex sports on steel.
I have been collecting and wearing Jacob&Co watches since 2006, I have picked pieces that I love and still to today I get tons of compliment on each one, I wear them as everyday pieces and I just need to dress less flashy do my timepiece doesn't compete with my outfit. It would be nice if you could do this view if you "actually" had the watch... If you can't afford it, why bother trashing it!

There’s a sucker born everyday and if anyone that pays $1.8 million for a watch worth $12k tops with all that bling what quality are those stones and precious metals ? I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing one of those watches 😂 I would consider wearing some of the traditional style Jacob watches as a gift but I wouldn’t buy one .

Idk even know what the name of the watch is but the carbon case Bugatti watch Jacob & Co makes would be the only one I would ever wear and thats only because of the fact I think it was cool how they incorporated the Bugatti w16 motor into the watch and how you can see the pistons and whatnot all in operation.of coarse that's assuming I'd ever be able to afford the watch.hell my whole collection ill own in my entire lifetime probably won't cost half the price of that single piece.sad part is it probably cost 10k or more just to have a basic service done to some of Jacob & Co watches.a lot of people forget about the costs of care and maintenance involved in owning pieces made buy watch companies like this also.even if I was filthy rich I wouldn't be able to see the feasibility of owning any watches like these.hell if I had that type of money id be happier to try starting my own micrbrand.lol

I saw The Godfather watch at Watches of Switzerland in Vegas. Interesting but reminded of an expensive snow globe on a strap.

I love my 5 invicta 40mm pro divers but their fashion watches are the worst I had seen Until I saw Jacob & Co on producer Micheal on his utube channel.

@@ComicalSatania One is black dial/silver case on a silicone band, one is black dial/silver case on a stainless bracelet, one is blue dial/silver case on a stainless bracelet, one is blue dial two tone silver and gold case with matching 2 tone bracelet, one is black dial two tone silver and gold case with matching 2 tone bracelet. If you want to throw in a 6th pro-diver I have an Invicta black dial "1953" vintage style with a black and red bezel no date window or crown guard on an all brushed stainless bracelet. I also have five Seiko 5's ....let me know if you want me to explain those watches, or my three Orient Bambino's, lol.

I like the Jacob & Co watches. I would definitely wear The Godfather watch. No to mention his less expensive watches called the epic X chrono. Really nice looking watches. I get they are not for everyone and I will never own one but you have to admit that they are beautiful to look at.
Y’all hating honesty I would wear these as art pieces if you want a watch Walmart sells em with a clearance sign that can easily fit your budget

As someone who normally doesn’t like watches with diamonds/crystals the Jacob & Co caviar does kind off grow on me the more I look at it (still think that it’s not the prettiest watch but at least better than those iced out Rolexes).
