Thank you for your review. I wish you mentioned how to turn off the auto senser brightness . It's driving me crazy! I could not find it under the settings or in the manual.
Thanks for the great video. Have you noticed the levels of your metering tools changing while adjusting your brightness or contrast on the monitor itself? Not sure if I have a faulty unit or not but mine suffers from this issue. Waveform, false color, histogram shift up and down while adjusting brightness/contrast. Can't judge exposure reliably this way!!
I believe that these sliders are intended to match the readings of the instruments on the monitor with similar readings from the camera... But the brightness of the screen is the backlight slider
Very informative. As a still photographer (Sony a7r 4)with 0 experience using an on camera monitor I have a couple of ridiculously ignorant questions. 1) do you need to make any menu changes in the camera to use the monitor? 2) are the many adjustments on the monitor automatically changing camera settings such as exposure or just adjusting the monitor itself? I can't understand how a monitor control would change a camera setting without some sort of program to make the interface work but like I said I am really ignorant about all this!
Hello I just got the r6 monitor and I i have an issue I think , I have contacted to my camera a7iii and when I turn on the monitor doesn't saw me a full screen but has a black bars on the left and right side !! What I have too do there is any settings? Thank you
Hi David , thanks a lot for the good video! I have a question: My monitor Desview R6 does not show the full spectrum of the screen, only it displays at 100% when I zoom in. What can it be? Thanks!
The build is typical for a monitor of this price range it’s good quality plastic with a glass screen. There is glare in full sun like any screen but it is bright. It would be perfect with a hood.
Nice video David! Thanks for all your reviews. It would be interesting to know if luts affect exposure tools like histogram, false color, etc. It would be great if it only changes the way it shows the image and not interferes with judging your exposure. Otherwise it's no so usefull. Thanks!!
Hello community, is anyone having problems with Desview R6 Zebra levels? Mine are not the same as in my Sony Alpha iii camera. Desview levels give me a very different exposure. Thnks for replying!
Nice to see manufacturers breaking price barriers in the right direction. Remember when they promised us that the digital revolution would bring great new products and lower costs? Thanks for another helpful update.
@@DavidOastler yes, I'm using a GH5. After I record the video and push the playback button. I can only see a thumbnail of the video, no option to press play. While the camera screen turns off and only display a msg tv out?. During recording with the R6, the camera screen is on.
Nice. I've had the R7 in my wishlist on Amazon. Now looking at the differences. I do recall that the R7 at 5 inches is not as bright as the 7 inch. Seeing these is why I went ahead and got the A7III - even without the flip screen I can go ahead and use one of these if needed for looking at myself.
Just curious, when you have need for a monitor, are you now using this monitor for your own work, or have you settled on another one? I'm getting ready to buy a monitor. Thanks for the fine review.
How is the color? Is it accurate in colors? IT uses DCI-P3. Feelworld uses Rec 709. Please take a video covering the camera and the view, to see how accurate is the colors
Just bought the feelword LUT7. I think they are pretty comparable in brightness, functonality and prize (also 270,-).just a bit bigger 7 to 5.5. Very curious if that makes a difference 😎
@@DavidOastler that would be great dude! Just got mine to work because the supplied hdmi micro cable was shot 😂 now everything working fine, gonna shoot some stuff tomorrow
Well i'm def in the market for a new monitor, i rarely shoot with mine outside because the NIT brightness is so low. Crazy value for the money as well.
The R6 monitor has one flaw: if you tend to wear polarized sunglasses outside on bright days, the screen is virtually invisible. I don't wear sunglasses when shooting, but for those who do, you can only wear non-polarized sun glasses if you actually want to see anything.
I ordered this monitor the other day. The image quality is super blurry when you move the camera. Very poor refresh rate it seems. Image quality is kinda crap i returned it straight away.
Hi David, you mentioned that you can turn the light sensor off, please can you share how thanks mate.
Hi Vinnie I have sold this but from memory it was somewhere in the menus.
@@DavidOastler Read the comments and found it David, cheers for getting back what did you get instead?

what's the difference for the UHB version ?

Can I see my video on this monitor if I recording at 100fps in ful hd? Or 50fps on 4k??
Hello. The monitor claims the NP-F 970 battery is compatible, I was not able to make it fit. Have you tried them?
That is weird it worked for me

It sounds like your camera is set to 4/3 for video you need to change to 16/9
Hi David thanks for the video. It would be great if you compare the R6 with the Feelworld Lut7. Cheers!

Hi, since I see you’re using Sony does touch tracking auto focus works with the monitor? Thanks before, great video!
It didn’t when I last used it
Does the 8-bit color depth fall apart when recording in 10-bit?
It looks fine to me
I do not know what wave forms, luts or nits are but still watched.
