- So I finished another playthrough of Mass Effect 1 this week and I got what I believe is the worst ending possible in the game.

Before we wrap up, let’s briefly discuss why I think this is the worst ending to the game. Let’s start with Saren. He’s obviously the big bad we were chasing the whole game but when we spoke to him on Virmire - we learned his motivation was to save organic life by creating an alliance with the Reapers. He wasn’t simply on a power trip or trying to become a god or some cliche like that. He saw the visions from the Prothean beacon and believes the Reapers are too powerful to defeat.
This doesn’t justify his actions but puts them into context. During this final confrontation there is an opportunity to help Saren realize how badly he’s messed up. He’s too far gone to resist Sovereign’s indoctrination completely because he stupidly installed an implant to “strengthen his resolve.” But the ending where Saren shoots himself is the best ending for him in my opinion because in his final moments he refuses to continue doing the Reapers bidding.
As for the Council, many players might see the deaths of the original Council as a good thing. And there are some compelling reasons to make this argument. The original Council was incapable of responding to the crisis and did not take Shepard’s claims seriously for pretty much all of the game.
However, an ending where an all-human Council is put into power - especially one led by Udina - is the worst outcome. It’s not the same as selecting a Human to lead a new multi-species Council. In the short term humanity could hold great political power on its own. But in the long run? The turians, asari, salarians and more are not likely to accept an all-human Council for long - which will make it difficult to build alliances and respond to crises in the future. - Ігри

The fact that Wrex is alive at all though means it can’t be the worse ending (unless you do it to keep him alive to see you sabotage the genophage cure)

Yes, this is definitely the worst possible ending. Seeing Urdnot Wrex, the future leader of his clan and of the Krogan people in that hideous armour is in fact a tragedy.

When people say Udina was indoctrinated during ME3, I just point them towards this ending. Udina's always been power-hungry, Cerberus gave him the chance to act on it.

Ikr. I see alot of idiots saying how the council deserved it but forget to see that there are alot more personnel other than the three people. And tbh it's just the skeptic turian that i hate. So i chose to save them. It made sense to me as an arc since this puts a forged alliance among their races instead of other races hating on humans.
@@manojajithpanicker1691Many don’t know that there is 10,000 crew onboard until mass effect 2, neither does anyone know what would happen if fires aren’t concentrated on Sovereign. To a degree abandoning the Ascension is a logical choice, regardless of having Council onboard or not, as Shephard does not have SL as we did.

I didn't even KNOW that there was a boss fight with a living Saren.
I thought that he ALWAYS killed himself.
Even when he kills himself you should still get this boss battle, I believe. I know I did when I convinced him to off himself.

I remember trying to be full Renegade. When I heard him say that, I knew I accomplished that goal.
Only character's disapproval that can make me cringe at my character's morality.
It's strange seeing Wrex being the voice of morality in this situation.
He agreed with Kaiden. I don't think that either them played the morality role.
@Sanguine not necessarily l, someone has to have the opposite opinion and the only way to get Wrex to take this position is to be a renegade and convince Kaiden that aliens can't be trusted.
I mean, despite all his bluster about liking violence and killing, Wrex is a good guy who just wants his race to live in peace. Seeing Wrex as the voice of reason isn't really that strange.
Nah, Wrex talking about bringing every species together is, sure, weird for him in ME1, but lines up with his goals in 2 and 3.
LOL , same for Kaidan who wants to sacrifice Counselors when normally he is opposite side in wanting to save the counselors! I have only seen Kaidan respond like killed Counselors is Renegade Shepard gets Kaidan to not trust nor put other alien people over humans. He will ultimately agree with Renegade Shepard in his responses just like Garrus. I had Kaidan and Garrus in this ending that had Garrus wanting to save Counselors then he had changed to letting them died along side Kaidan. Except, I will always choose Anderson to join Counselors since I don’t naturally trust politicians ingame or real life. Then , it shamefully disappears with Kaidan agreeing with Renegade Shepard in rest of Mass Effect series. Thankfully, Garrus is definitely cool and level headed loyal best friend or romance partner who had gotten along with any of Shepards despite their actions and difference of opinions throughout the ME series! Tali is my next favorite ME character after Garrus since she is equally loyal to any of Shepards despite difference of opinions in most of situations!
The all-human council is also never really brought up again, to my knowledge. By ME3, the council is back to being multi-species. Kind of defeats the point of a renegade play through of ME1.
The Turian weapon salesman at the citadel in me2 actually makes snide comments about the human council.
My headcanon is Udina leads an interim human council while the other races go through the democratic process on such short notice
The other races collectively have many times more political and military power than all of humanity has. If they want a multi-specifies council, humanity doesn’t get much say.
Too bad this choice didn't matter. Instead of a normal Council, we get the same three idiots, but with different textures.
It also didn't matter if you picked Anderson for the Council... Udina was always the human Councillor in ME3.
seriously tho, this ending would be viable if taking it meant that the galaxy was more prepared. Even the human only council is like "nah Shepard was crazy reapers don't exist."
Actually, killing the council increases your potential War Readiness Score in ME3 quite a bit. But indeed, there is no difference in choosing a human-only council, other than a few Renegade points, as they'll just revert anyway.

I usually save them because doing so is a step in the right direction for galactic/inter-species unity, but on a personal and professional level, fuck 'em.
It's sad how little a difference it makes if you go full human supremacist versus trying to be the best model for human alien relationships.
@Sanguine I managed to get the salarian fleet even though I let the council die. I think it’s because I saved kirrahe, and thane lived through 2 and saved the councilor in 3

The thing that really annoys me about this ending though is that it really doesn't amount to much. A human dominated Council has massive implications for Galactic politics, and its just... never dealt with again. Besides a few news snippets, throwaway lines, it never comes up again. The Council returns to being a multi-species effort.
I really feel like this choice should have impacted the series going forward more. Or at the very least been much more visible. Perhaps added or changed missions in ME3.
Yeah there should have been serious negative consequences if you installed an all-human council at the end of ME1
I think it became difficult to write it narratively without the game branching off wildly, especially with the limitations of the 360/PS3 generation. Might have meant the trilogy becoming unwieldy narratively...
Yeah I don’t think they wanted to have the story branch off in two different paths like that. It’s unfortunate but a AAA game like ME will never have such a huge choice affect so much this early on in a series
@@thecanmanificationCould we call ME1 a AAA game though? BioWare was still relatively a small dev back then and the publisher model still overruled indie models of game development. I know Microsoft GS backing must have helped a little, but, the original scope of the game still had to be scaled back. I often wonder what ME2 and 3 would have been like if they were still Xbox 360 exclusives under Microsoft.
@@ukmaxi I think so, it was really heavily marketed for the 360 back in the day, and it’s definitely more in line with action rpg’s today than previous BioWare instalments. But you could argue otherwise.
But when I say AAA I mean a game that’s fully voiced, has fully animated cutscenes, third person/first person combat, appeals to the broader public etc. Having a branching story line is easy in a game like BG because all you have to do is write more lines of text essentially.
I think just on a budgetary perspective no publisher is gonna finance such a large game for as long as it would take to develop

@@vodkavecz I kept Wrex alive and had over 8000 war assets and got the best ending. Keeping Wreav for war assets is stupid. Just play the majority of the content and you're fine. And frankly, even if Wreav meant a better ending in 3, he wouldn't be worth it. Wrex lives, no matter what.
@@Kratosx23 I mean if you intentionally want to tank your score. Then keep Wrex alive, sabotage the genophage in me3, and see those points plummet. (also don't do the turian bomb sidequest). Practically turns your krogan assets to 0.
Killing Wrex in ME1 and sabotaging the cure would actually give you more points.
PS: I played through the original game 8 times. I know what's what.
Wrex stays alive, the data is kept, the genophage is cured, my war assets are still maxed out.
I've never done a renegade run, but this ending really has a lot of badass implications for how the rest of the series could run. Unfortunately the rest of the series plays out almost the exact same. The final paragon convo with saren will always be a fantastic villain conflict
Renegade is only fun for the first two games. In 3 renegade no longer means "ruthless mission focused badass" but "murderous psychopath"
@@tmage23 I kinda feel each game has a different version of renegade. In 1 it is ultra space-racist, 2 is ruthless badass, and then 3 becomes heavily jaded and more like Javik, willing to do and sacrifice anything (murdering friends included) to win the war.

ME3 renegade only sucks if you took a variation of decisions like saving Wrex etc
@@tmage23in ME3 you CAN actually play Renegade without being psycho. You just don't have to *always* choose the Renegade option. I'm 70-80% renegade right now, Shepard's head is glowing red like bonfire. Just don't betray Wrex or shoot Mordin, other than that you can absolutely be a badass renegade in ME3.
I think Javik would have liked this ending. it's ruthless, decisive and only focused on one goal: best way how to defeat the ultimate enemy, no matter the cost.

@@NaiveCynic Was losing the Council rfeally changing anything in the long run? No, they still don't believe you any earlier up to ME3 and while it weakens the Turians, granted, it does keep the Alliance from being as grossly weakened by the time the Reapers hit. As it made clear time and time again in ME2/3 the fleets that were involved never were brought up to strength and in ME3 it reflects in in the warroom if you want to take a meta view of it.

I always interpreted/justified the "sacrificing the Council" option as focusing all fire on Sovereign rather than letting the Council die for being jerks. Though I guess those are two different choices in the dialogue wheel, even if they do have the same outcome. That's why I chose that on my first blind run of ME1 even though I was mostly Paragon for the rest of the run.
yup same here, i remember thinking that saving the council could potentially mean sovereign gets away/survives, and it seemed like the larger threat. even though i didn't like the council, if i had known that either way sovereign would be destroyed, i would have saved them. not sure if it's my fault or the game's for not explaining that choice properly.

I thought this too on my first playthrough then I realised you know that's a massive ship while the cowardly council hid on it the massive crew on that ship likely doesn't deserve to die for the council but I mostly do everything for humanity's interest on my first blind playthrough because it's what every other race does regardless of how nice you are or aren't

I let the counsel die because a few thousand vs 14 million.
I let the council die because it gets you more Galactic Readiness in ME3

When I save the Ascension im not saving the council, I'm saving those sweet sweet war assets for ME3.
You actually get more in the end if you sacrifice the original council than saving them. You preserve half a fleet of human ships and manage to get rid of a trio of useless asswipes. There’s literally no reason to save the council other than being a cucked boot licking paragon boy scout. I’m actually shocked by how many players are willing to throw human lives away before thinking just by reading this comment section.

I'm a newcomer to the series. I started playing the Legendary Edition out of pure boredom, ended it emotionally, wanting way more! I've already put 8 days of my life into it!

@@NaughtyMan4444 I had always been able to talk Wrex down unless I had purposefully allowed Ashley or Renegade Earthborn Ruthless Shepard to kill Wrex to save Mordin and to get more war assets in ME 3. It depends on how I am playing ME playthroughs with any of my Shepards. If I am playing extremely Renegade Shepard and I want Mordin to stay alive , Wrex will always died in first game. More times than not , Wrex is alive in my games yet I am deeply saddened to lose Mordin who I do deeply love as well. That leads to me wanting to save Mordin and it becomes repeated circle between Wrex or Mordin in my games. It is not hard between Kaidan and Ashley since I do not like Ashley who rubs me wrong way in her attitude compared to Kaidan who I do like and disagree with at times. So , I will very rarely choose Ashley over Kaidan in my games. It is actually force decision against what I want to actually choose in getting different game storyline for my Shepard instead of actual wanting Ashley alive from liking her along with guilt of allowing Kaidan who I do prefer over Ashley to died. Mass Effect can hit people emotionally hard with decisions that you must make as Shepard in story directions that you are choosing within your gameplay.

It was meant that way back when aliens ran things, humans don't have to obey the same rules when reshaping the galaxy under their leadership.
@@UEDCommander It never meant any sense. Even if the Citadel fleet gets destroyed, later the turians can fly in and clear out the human fleets. They have five times larger war fleet than the Alliance.
Its funny how you can always hang up on the council, even at the very end when they're being torn up
I always thought it was... interesting how we never see them call upon any of their other Spectres - just Shepard, the human who they were so reluctant to accept in the first place.
I think there are canonically 10 Spectres in ME1. Saren is a traitor, and kills Nihilus, bringing that down to 8. However, this rises to 9 when Shepard is made a Spectre. Why didn't the Council call on any of the other 8 Spectres for help? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

@Sanguine You never see the all-human Council or speak to them and they're never even named. It's implied that humanity takes over the Citadel and the Council in a soft coup following Sovereign's attack, but by ME2 Shepard is being scolded in Udina's office that the Council wants nothing to do with them bc they'd put human interests over the other races--which was the entire point of Udina's Emperor Palpatine speech at the end of ME1. In fact, this supposedly all-human Council gives Shepard even less support than the original Council, despite being singlehandedly responsible for their existence. By the time ME3 rolls around it's back to a multiracial Council, with humans once again back to the role of the new guys who need to prove themselves by solving everyone else's problems.
The human supremacist Renegade ending of Mass Effect is a promise that the series doesnt keep, failing to even create named characters to hold one conversation with you in ME2. Udina's character is one note, a politician to backstab you at every available opportunity, when they could have paved the way to the ME3 Citadel coup attempt by having him quietly help Shepard while they're working with Cerberus, making him his personal pro-human Spectre. Instead, Udina is the only one who DOESNT want Shepard to be reinstated as a Spectre, bc politics.
This really is the worst ending and thats bc it sets up these cataclysmic changes to galactic politics but it doesnt follow through at all. It doesnt result in anything remotely meaningful, not even a single cutscene of the interim coup Council, and changes nothing about the story of ME2. The only difference is that the pro-human Council refuses to support the first human Spectre, and shopkeepers are rude to you on Zakera Ward. The human Council may as well not exist, bc they effectively don't.

@@mediumvillain That's because Mass Effect had never been planned to hit it off the way it did, let alone even be a trilogy. Hell, the whole point as to why it even was a trilogy was because the companies were all doing that at the time. Big series have to end on a big note on the third installment, no matter if the story could go on for much longer or not. They had a massive hardon for big finales and shit. And we saw where that went, where even to this day we still talk about how ME3 endings ruined the series and hurt the genre as a whole and it's almost been 10 years since then.
Now we need a ME3 worst ending version, the lowest EMS physically possible to beat the game

The first novel states that Saren basically was on a power trip. He wanted to use the power and technology of Sovereign to put the other council races in their place. And the only reason why this really is the worst ending of ME1 is because it gets mostly ignored in ME2 and 3.
I actually got this ending on my second playthrough. I was what I call an extreme renegade where I only picked non colored renegade choices off the right side of the tree. I too was FemShep at the time.
If you keep Thane alive in ME2, Keeping the Destiny Ascension intact nets you 103 war assets. If Thane dies in ME2 it's 95. Sacrificing the Council nets you 100 war assets if you manage to keep Thane alive or if Kirrahe is still kicking. If you let Balak live he gives you 15 extra war assets.

Interesting little continuity nod. After he stood down on Virmire, Wrex said "when we find Saren, I want his head". & there he is dealing Saren's coup-de-grace to 'make sure he's dead'.

I was actually thinking about olaying a shep where i dont use any of the charm or intimidate options(blue and red options) and see where that gets me. Inalways play paragon so it would be interesting. But if i get something like what you said my heart would break lol.
@@DbladeMedic avoiding charm/ intimidate would be a tough one for sure, you basically always have to choose a side and stick with it in that case since they usually give you an "everybody wins" way out. That shouldn't get you close to mine though haha, don't worry! I've had to actively plan out my choices to make it as brutal as possible, I don't think you can make it this bad without actively trying to.
I really loved the fact that you used "Still alive, baby!" in the scene where Shepard comes out alive from the debris. I think Renshep should've said this dialogue himself/herself.

@@cyanimation1605 me 3 is on another level. the ending itself was just weird. me1 ending ,even though limited outcomes, wasnt meant to finish the story. it was just the beginning lf the trilogy.
@@peterhoffmann2231 me3's ending did finish the story. the reaper threat was ended. the final choice in me3 is actually the most interesting one in the series, not only bc it actually has drastic impacts on the universe, but it isn't a clear-cut paragon/renegade, good guy bad guy option like the other two games. me3 is a deeply flawed experience but not because of its ending and i wish people would temper their outrage until they actually know what they don't like.
Even then, this clearly isn't the worst ending. Depending on how much you care about him, Wrex is still alive. 🤷♂️
First time I played ME1 I forgot about the armour and didn't spam Charm/Intimidate, so Ashley smoked Wrex on Virmire.
I feel like if they ever remake the Mass Effect, (and I mean full remake, not a remaster like we just got) they should really lean into the Anti-Alien renegade path. The original storyline would remain, but essentially be the Paragon option.
Like, if you choose this ending there's actually a human council in ME2, and there's a bunch of alternative Cerberus missions, in the vein of the N7 missions we currently have, to keep them in power and kick down the Turians, Asari, and Salarians.
They could do a full on Alternate storyline for ME3. Like, the Illusive Man doesn't get indoctrinated, and actually helps you by running a shadow government and becoming the sole ruler of humanity. During the timeskip Cerberus led humanity conquered some of the lesser races, like the Batarians or the Hanar. Indoctrinated Cerberus is replaced by some kind of anti-human resistance. You cure the genophage so the Krogan will help you conquer the Turians. Project Overlord gets completed, and you take over the Geth at the end of that Arc. Liara replaces Kai Lang as the boss on Thesia.
In ME3 you essentially get an alternate Cerberus crew of, say, Kai Lang, Overlord controlled Legion, Phantom Implanted Jack, Cerberus Loyalist versions of Miranda and Jacob, EDI, and the Virmire Survivor.
"Control" Ending sees Humanity basically become a new Prothian Empire, only now they're backed by Shepherd as an evil machine God.
Cool idea, but it could be difficult to balance it out, Still would love have the Human Council atleast be a thing in 2 and 3.
I saw someone do this recently (minus the Saren fight... and companion choices since both got sacrificed on Virmire) and some of the viewers were joking about how dark it was. Personally, I referred to Udina's final speech as him breaking out his inner Emperor Palpatine.
To be honest. Letting the council die would be the best choice.
Not only you have weakened your political rivals eliminating their leader and fleets but humanity has seen now as the saviour of the galaxy. Humanity does not have the fleet to rule alone. Yet.
But a move like this is a good stepping stone to rival asari and turians firepower.
I let the council live, because I still want to be a Spectre in ME2!
Making Anderson the counselor did that for me..using this ending. It's then his choice in ME2
Saren is a lot like Saruman. Saren being a spectre, the best of the best. Saruman, being an Istari, (basically an angel sent to earth as a wizard to help middle earth in the fight against Sauron.) Saren joined the Reapers, because he thought that victory over them was impossible. Of course, he ends up getting corrupted. Saruman ends up joining Sauron, because he thought that victory over Sauron was impossible.

There's nothing wrong in ignoring an incompetent council when they scream for help. I've always chosen NOT the council!
The Council were worse than incompetent. They were outright hostile to _considering_ the possibility that one of their precious little Spectres could have gone off the rails and didn't even consider looking at our evidence. Even when we brought them further evidence of the Sovereign and the Reapers pulling the strings, they still sat on their hands.
Their inaction directly led to Saren, the Geth and Sovereign being able to rofl-stomp the Citadel. Saving them wasn't even a tactically smart decision, either. 🤷♂️

For as messed up as it sounds they were partly right. The first council literally would of let the Reapers walk through the front door. They gave Shepard a stealth ship that was designed for this exact purpose and they said no. The moment Shepard ceased to be beneficial to them they stripped them of the very power you were awarded. I put Anderson as councilor as consultation because in the end I’m not a tyrannical s.o.b but yeah, fuck em, especially how if you save them they completely deny the threat in 2 when they could of been prepping fir the war. Council burns every time no matter paragon or renegade.

I would love to see the outcome from this ended in Mass Effect 2 and 3, I want to know what kind of effect this ending has on war assets and missions that take place on 2 and 3.
So I have never gone this route myself and after watching these cut scenes I wonder if this ME1 route changes the whole bit with Udina in ME3?

When talking about an all human council, the music even has an underscore of menace to it. And, tbf, an all Human citadel government with Udina at the helm? Hell, even with Anderson in charge, Udina would still have a significant part to play in how things play out. That music is earned... well, until it goes all triumphant at the end with Udina's speech on the Reapers. lol
On an unrelated note, I know you can influence Kaiden's paragon/renegade outlook but can the same be done for Garrus? I did a playthrough with Garrus and Tali in my party recently and was surprised to see Tali argue for abandoning the council while GARRUS argued for saving them. It's not like I can't see it being that way, I just would have thought it'd be the other way around.
Maybe the Garrus/Tali thing has something to do with the Quarians not having a council seat vs the Turians who do? Complete speculation on my part, but just a thought.

I totally agree with the statement that this is the worst possible ending in ME 1.
Udina as a member of the council is the worst mistake one can make: A human supremecist, a boot licking turncoat who would gladly sell his soul to the devil, which is exactly what he did during the attempted Cerberus coup in ME 3. And the most important thing: He was the one who stabbed Shepard in the back and nearly doomed the entire galaxy, when he gave the order to lock up the Normandy in ME 1.
How can someone think that something like fascism will forge powerfull alliances with other entirely different species, if the history of humanity alone proved time and time again that it allways let towards disaster? If Udina wasn't indoctrinated during his attempted coup he was at least a fascist.
Yes, the alliance will lose thousands of lifes if you save the Council and Souveraign alone will destroy 8 cruisers/battle ships.
But do you know what? The alliance is NOT the only military force in the galaxy. You get the Destiny Ascencions, the Citadel doesn't loose its entire fleed, the other species are more willing to cooperate with humanity, which paves the way for new powerfull alliances. Which is a win-win-situation for everyone.
One doctrin, one tactic and therefor one's supremecy over all others means predictability which means certain death against an enemy who knows everything about you.
The Protheans learned this lesson the hard way. It was far too late and they got annihilated.
Versatility means victory.

Wrex going Paragon feels so wrong
These are the worse endings for ME 1:
1. Not taking Garrus and Tali to the end.
2. Making Udina the leader for the council be they alive or dead.
3. Not letting Kaiden live because he is the most loyal human ever.
4. Let Wrex wear that armor and killing him later.
5. Never disconnecting from the council on various occasions.
this may be the worst ending, but it's a very intresting ending. Humanity taking the position of galactic power by themselves instead of standing with the other species. I definitely wanna try this out for myself and play as femshep also which i've never done before.
this is gonna be a whole new experience for me being an evil femshep.

I still think Saren is a very underrated villain especially when you know his backstory, all that because Bioware didn't give him much screen time, sadly, if they just took one-quarter of the time of the fucking mako driving on expanding the characters as they did in mass effect 2 things will be much better
You are right, but i can get even worse by killing Urdnot Wrex. By keeping Wrex and Eve alive, Shepard ensured at least one thankfull ally who keeps the galaxy save.

woops sorry. I focused on the Krogan, because even with their best future they still get a lot of shit from one half of the me-fandom. I also forgot about the Volus, cause only with Urdnot Wrex and with the disarmed bomb, the Krogan help out the Volus as well. Tha make 3 Allies with Wrex in charge.
Turian, Assari and Humanity got hit hard, if the Salarian wanted they can take over concil space with their new found "usefull toys" like Varren and Yagh. Without the Krogan on the ground and the turian in the air... Salarian would be on top unchallenged (except Quarian + Geth Allience).
When I played Mass Effect 1 for the first time last year I chose to sacrifice the council. Not necessarily because I had beef with them, more because I thought sovereign would have been more powerful if I didn’t have my troops focus on him.
Idea for next video: is it better to save kaidan or Ashley?
On my first run of the legendary edition I was able to talk saren into offing himself I didn’t even know you could do that.
I realize it has been over a year since this video was posted but doing this with another playthrough to see what happens with an ALL RENEGADE response is interesting as you can then import into 2 and 3 and see what happens ;)
Even in the shortrun the human council is terrible, they to will say they don't believe in the existence of the reapers in mass effect 2 and won't even meet you, they don't show the Galaxy how strong humanity can be, they show the Galaxy how incompetent humanity can be.

This is just the ending I got yesterday. I don't think it's a "bad" ending... it's more a renegade ending, that's all.
I’m just about done with my first play through of the trilogy and I plan on doing my next play through on the hardest mode for the achievements and I plan on making every rebel decision I can make. Lol
Too bad such an ending doesn't actually have an impact of ME 2 and 3, would have been interesting to see how those games play out with Udina already the boss (especially when he tries to overthrow the council in ME3, kind of difficult to do that when you're already the chairman of an all-human council)

As if the turians, salarians and asari would let one species take over the galaxy. It would still work with some Protheans, but the galaxy here is a union of many species. Udina carries some kind of utopian nonsense.

No. It could be worse. Wrex is alive in your playthrough. Worst ending would be what you got PLUS Wrex dead. So no - this is not worst possible ending for ME1. In my opinion that is of course.

Damn they REALLY cleaned up the Destiny Ascension's death scene... that honestly kinda hurt to see. The rest of the space scenes fuckin blew me away.
In the paragon dead-council ending, the council is still multi-species but with a Human chairman. It doesn’t change much in ME3 but it might be more coherent.
You need a high RED morality score rating for this ending to make a all human council to appear next game .
