@@GoingSoloOutdoors Keep the shorts going for sure if you're getting good engagement from them. I heard UA-cam are really pushing those and you kind of have to play ball if you want the algorithm to stay on your side. I always enjoy your content regardless of the format so just happy to see you keep uploading 👍
I really appreciate the feedback. I completely do also! I’m really not a big fan of the super quick minute videos but I play the algorithm game, unfortunately. Thanks for watching and I hope have a great weekend!
@@GoingSoloOutdoors yes I've noticed a few channels start to post Shorts recently. I guess you've gotta do what you gotta do! Have a great weekend too, I've got a new backpack coming from Patagonia which I'm excited to check out!! 😁
It doesn't matter if it's a short video, 5-10 minutes or 30-40-50, your videos are always interesting and professional. The short ones or 5-10 minutes are different and have their pros and cons, but it doesn't matter - I always enjoy watching them! Big support for you, stay safe and healthy and have a wonderful vacation 🙂
Really appreciate that! I think I prefer making the longer videos full camping videos. Something just feels incomplete about it. I was really bummed I couldn’t spend the night on this cook. It would have been really fun to sleep under the tarp with snow. All the best 😀👍
I, too, liked the large base of the stove so it can be moved. At home I prepare normally use Jute Twine for tinder; an 8" strip of twine that I've separated the strands & fluffed it up & put it into a small ziplok baggie to keep it dry. A couple of strokes of the steel down the ferro rod & I've turned sparks into a flame. That gourmet meal was fit for royalty. I carry pre-cooked bacon with me to snak on or to add to a meal; bacon is tasty hot or cold & goes with or without anything. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
Yes, jute twine is fantastic! I keep it in my flint and steel kit. I also wrap it around the handle of my Kuksa as one of many bits of emergency tinder. Thanks for watching!
A nice "mix it up" video! I liked it and would definitely would like to see more. It will never replace your hiking/camping videos in my mind, but your cooking acumen lends itself to this type of offshoot from those videos. Thanks for taking the time to give us another chance to see your cooking skills.
Thanks for the feedback Tom! I definitely would never want to replace my camping videos but going out into the woods to make a coffee or a meal happens to be something I do quite often so it’s nice to hear you wouldn’t mind seeing this kind of video occasionally. It just means I can probably put videos out a bit more often if I mix in this kind of content! Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks again 👍
I find just warming a Tortilla wrap Pitta Bread etc etc either in a pan or just simply turning it over a flame makes it a totally different meal no matter whats inside it. Just the fact its warmed makes it seem more of a meal as opposed to cold where it just feels like a sandwich or maybe it just me. Anyway great video as is usual i always thoroughly enjoy them. Always feel hungry right after too 😂 take care 👍
I will probably still do my longer camping videos but I gotta admit these shorter videos are a lot easier to film, edit and post. Appreciate the feedback!
Thanks Jeff! It’s one of my favorite breakfasts. It’s been a bit hard to find places where I can order it since I moved here to England so I just had to start making it myself 😀👍. Appreciate the comment!
All your videos are great viewing, this type is very interesting. I have never done a day camp like this, but I certainly am going to try it. I bought a tarp last year and haven`t used it yet, so here goes!
Nice! Tarp camping is how I started camping and it’s probably the most versatile piece of equipment you can own! Hope you have a great first outing with it! 👍 ATB
One of my favorite 3-4 UA-cam channels. Regardless of the weather you are out in, your videos always seem so peaceful and relaxing. I'm also the owner of an Enan and Nammatj 2 (GT). Thanks for all the hours of entertainment.
Thank you! I want the videos to feel as peaceful as the camp itself, so that’s exactly what I like to hear! The Enan and Nammatj are such great tents! I’m super excited for the longer days so I can take the Enan out on some longer hikes. Makes me happy just thinking about those tents! Really appreciate the comment. Hope you have a great weekend! ATB
I’ve actually been looking to purchase some kind of canvas roll case to keep my pocket knives in. Maybe once I find one I really like, I will think of a creative way to show it off 😀. Thanks for watching!
Welcome to the channel! I try to change up my shelter and location on each trip to add a bit of variety. Glad you like it. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment! ATB
I really like your style there sir! Is that the ddhammocks 10x10? That looks like a super useful piece of gear that a lot of people in the know, like yourself, seem to have. I really like what you said in the intro about how that tarp configuration was your favorite one. That was also the favorite configuration of one of my all time favorite bushtubers from Sweden, Nagaulero. He unfortunately passed away suddenly in January of 2022 I believe. He was like you. He would go out, set up the plow point and cook amazing meals. Thank you for all that you do. NQU
Thanks! I do have the DD 10x10 but this is actually the DD ultralight tarp which is just a hair smaller. It’s been a fantastic lightweight tarp. The plough point is very quick to setup and very spacious. It was extremely sad when Nagaulero passed. The outdoor community lost an incredible artist and outdoorsman. He is definitely missed. Really appreciate the thoughtful comments. All the best!
Curiously, you call such fried eggs "sunny" and we have "глазунья" from the word "глаз" - eye )). Apparently we cook fried eggs really from two eggs ))) Thanks for the video!
Interesting! I guess we call it that because it looks like a sun but saying it looks like an eye especially if you have two makes total sense also! Thanks for watching!
You really are a great cook mate. Is it your profession or do you just enjoy doing it? I really need to brush up on my camp cooking and this is great inspiration. 👍
Enjoy your videos and as others have said I watch on a big screen. To be honest the shorts are kinda irritating, from what I understand UA-cam is pushing this for whatever reason but if I like a channels content I want to see more not less.🤨 would rather see 15 min vs 30 seconds as far as shorts go.
Really appreciate the feedback! I often produce 90 sec videos for Instagram but am not a fan of the minute length of a UA-cam short. If I make a longer cooking video like this but then also produce a short from it to satisfy the ridiculous algorithm would you find that annoying? Just curious. Again I really appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching! ATB
I understand that the short videos are being pushed by UA-cam, not the creators. The cooking videos are great and as far as the shorts go I don’t mind them. I’ve heard other creators talk about having to jump through hoops for the algorithm.
I tend to watch UA-cam on a TV or monitor so the shorts are a bit lost on me. Definitely prefer this format!
Good point! I sometimes forget you can watch UA-cam on the TV. Thanks for the feedback 👍
