Halo sucks, you need a Spot On for the best GPS collar. The Halo does not work in heavily wooded areas but the Spot On does and it does not drift as bad. I'm not paid by SpotOn either ;)
Very beautiful homesteading lady. Just curious. Do you dress up and wear heels sometimes? I guess maybe not. Because you spend so much time on your farm. But it would be amazing to see you dressed up and wearing heels.
Bought from a friend for our Great Pyrenees LGD. He seems to prefer where more activity is. We have beef cows and chickens. I will update when we start training. Have our work cut out for us. He is 18months old and a rescue.
We have 2 Pyranees/Newfoundland crosses and a lab that runs, and he has taught one Pewfy to run too. Our land is similar to yours, lots of trees, sloped etc. I currently use a wireless fence but it's way too small of an area and only works half the time... I like that I would be able to see where they are in real time. Thank you for this review
if you can i really need a video or some advice on how to train them to be poultry safe as I just got my first LGD and she is only 10 months old and defiantly wants to chase them. I'm hoping for zero chicken causalities.
I found the Halo collar a very poor product. I bought a collar back in late 2020. Had multiple issues with it not working. Returned for a refund. This all took about a year to send it in multiple times and then to get the refund. In late November of 2021 they came out with an updated version. Claimed they had fixed all the issues. I applied my refund for the new collar. Upon receiving the new collar the same issues persisted. My dog would get beeps and corrections when no where near the boundaries. Corrections and beeps would be delayed. In the summer of 2022 it quit working all together. Would not charge. I would not count on these collars to completely safeguard your dog. The quality is not there. The connectivity can be spotty with anything on cell data or gps. They should not put your pet's safety on this. The workmanship and reliability is not consistent. Might as well spend the $ on fencing or an underground dog fence. If you do try it out, please be aware of the very short window of time to return it. A 60 day return policy melts away fast with training and product shipping.
I've replaced ours 3 times. If in a heavily wooded area, it may not work. We have to put the fence in open land. The calibration issue is a problem too. We have one dog on 4 acres
Within the first minute you showed it wasn't for me. Can not have a collar that the batteries don't last 24 hours. Can see where it might be right for some, My dogs have to go without seeing me for up to 5 days. They just stay home.
Halo is a garbage company. The collar doesn't work, customer service is horrible, the app is trash, so is the website. Basically nothing works for $600 and you get to go through the super awesome mail return process.

best of luck!
Very well done 👏. The tech has improved since the base station type.
It really has!

You’re welcome! They have been worth it for us.

I'm curious, when the calibration is off and it shows them far away, do they receive a static shock and beeping?

I'm sorry to hear it hasn't worked for you! We are heavily wooded but have decent cell service so haven't had too many issues with calibration.

Love this. We have been looking
We looked for a long time before we pulled the trigger and bought them.

They will breed thru the fence lol
They didn't! We did just breed them on purpose though.
