  • In the afternoon of August 21, 2021, Officer Thumann observed a green passenger vehicle violate a red traffic light. He stopped the vehicle and asked the female driver for a form of ID, but the driver could only provide verbal identification. Officer Thumann asked for anything with her name on it, such as a debit or credit card, but she denied having any of those items. While speaking to the driver, Officer Thumann could see she was shaking and unable to maintain consistent eye contact with him. Officer Thumann requested another officer as well as a K9 unit. This is footage of the events that followed.

In the USA if you drive well, carefully, you can probably load up your car with anything and traffic it back and forth the coasts. No problems.

It's both really sad and kind of funny that you think getting arrested would help her get her life together, and not just make it all way worse. She'll be released on probation back into the exact same environment, and the first time her PO drug tests her, she'll be cycled through once again with new court fees, a new charge, etc. She'll get cycled through over and over, accrue thousands of dollars of debt, the probation violations will both make it impossible to keep a job and also each new charge will make her less employable, and when she has no money, no freedom, tons of court fees AND all the problems that led her to drugs in the first place, of course she'll do more. I've literally seen it happen dozens of times in a few different states. Running people like her through the local jailhouse for grant money is the entire cashcow of most small to medium sized police offices, and they sure as shit do not want her to get better. If the cops weren't so interested in farming people like this, we could not only set up REAL, ACCESSIBLE rehabilitation resources, but we could also create resources to help prevent the type of physical and sexual abuse that leads young women to end up in this situation.
