    Thank you very much for this. IMP is my go-to as well, so I appreciate this updated video on it. The part where you mentioned that the type of focus should be similar to the level of focus I have on my legs and feet while walking is very useful! That helps a lot. I’ve definitely been over-focusing on the sensation of the movement previously.

    My score was a 2 on this, meaning that IMP will probably not benefit me. When I tried imagining those moments, I knew what they should feel like but I couldn't feel them virtually at all. All I could feel is a slight touch that, if I wasn't trying to force it, I wouldn't feel it. That and the fact that I am quite a hummingbird as of late and imagining the same thing over and over may frustrate me if I'm not falling asleep fast enough. Need to work on my patience as well! Still, I could see how this could be beneficial for a lot of people and wish all the best while trying it!
    Thanks for taking time to make a video on your day off. I checked the upload schedule and was surprised to see a video release today! Great video as always and I hope that IMP helps out a lot of people!

    This is an interesting way to think about IMP. I never really thought about the passivity being compared to the level of focus on walking. I've tried it a few times, but I'll have to come back to it sometime. I probably have to wake up a little first as I've pretty much always been in super sloth mode and even with slight physical movements, I was out in a matter of seconds. I'll probably try it when in a hybrid of sloth and hummingbird mode. Also it might work better when I'm on my back. When I tried it months ago, I sadly discovered that my tactile visualization skills are nearly aphantasic as well as visual. I feel like all I can do is the concept of the movement, but it doesn't feel real and I can't quite localize it to where it's supposed to take place, even after actually doing it. The visualization of clenching is very slow motion as well to even get anything that would count at all. It also seems to be even harder yet to visualize when I am in sloth/super sloth mode. But I have a pretty easy time visualizing my arms grabbing and pulling on a rope. That's probably about an 8 or 9 score last I checked, especially when I'm on my side and vertically do it from there.
    For now, I've been experimenting with something else for when I am in sloth/super sloth mode and that's shown some interesting results so far. I often catch when I slip into a non-REM dream (I think so anyway based on the symptoms), which I wouldn't be surprised if it is more prone to happening in sloth mode vs hummingbird before REM.

    You’ve really inspired me to start seriously trying to lucid dream again. I’ve tried plenty of times before but I’ve always lacked the willpower to keep it up. Eventually I’d slide and stop doing reality checks or get discouraged after long periods of no progress and give up. But now I’m back in the game.
    I can’t quite recall what it was, but you spoke about reality checks a little while ago and now I do better reality checks in a manner that I am more likely to be able to consistently remember to pull off.
    I suppose the only thing I’m kind of worried about is what happens after. Despite wanting to lucid dream I actually do enjoy my non-lucid dreams and the stories they can tell. The sheer randomness sometimes outdoes any ideas I can consciously think of. If I lucid dream regularly and it I achieve control do all those stories just… disappear?

    I just got sleep paralisis from this, it was kind of fun, it was weird because in my room there is no white board but I imagined a white board in my room and it appeared, so it was kind of lucid but also it felt more like paralisis, it was like a combination of both. it was a morning nap trying this method, and it kind of worked, it took a long time for me to fall asleep but when I did I was kind of lucid becuase I managed to realize I was dreaming, but I was lying down in my dream too and couldn't get up, the test I did to see if I could do this I got a score of 8 so I think that wasn't the problem, the problem was that I slept on my hand and I still could feel that while sleeping

    I do have a quick question on WILD and I’m sorry if you’ve already answered this somewhere, but for myself I’ve been training mindfulness meditation focusing on my breathing during daytime meditation. When performing IMP on a wake back to bed, are you still focusing on the breathing or is the IMP the point of focus instead of the breathing. And if so, wouldn’t a better lucid dreaming meditation be an IMP focused meditation?

    • @LucidDreamPortal

    @Carl_Frank 9 місяців тому +1

    I have tried something similar to this... that I think I heard from you, but I'm not sure...???
    I imagined doing the nose pinch test as I was falling back to sleep. A couple times I remember it starting to feel like I was really doing it (and breathing through my nose, of course) but so far I don't think it "stuck"; I woke up when I noticed this, rather than getting into a lucid dream. But I guess I am on the right track?

    • @LucidDreamPortal
      @LucidDreamPortal  9 місяців тому

      Ah yes, it sounds like you're talking about Task Triggered Lucidity ( www.thelucidguide.com/techniques/task-triggered-lucidity )
      That's something more of a prospective memory practice, where you're aiming to simplify the task to the most simple concept, or in other words, something that is "up stream" of lucidity (as in a nose pinch test leads to lucidity, rather than telling yourself to "become lucid", which is far more nebulous). I think with a bit of tweaking you'll find the sweet spot!

    • @Carl_Frank
      @Carl_Frank 9 місяців тому

      Thank you! I will check out that link. Not sure if I have read that before, but if so, I'm sure I am due for a refresher.@@LucidDreamPortal

    • @Carl_Frank
      @Carl_Frank 9 місяців тому

      I just read it, and yeah, I think I did read that once before. I see what you mean about it utilizing prospective memory in the way you described it, as a practice performed at bedtime to prime the mind to hopefully remember to do that later (during a dream). But if it was done when one is about to enter REM (as in, after a fortunately timed awakening), couldn't it lead to a MAD? I imagine that in such a scenario I might be able to imagine doing it, until it seemed like I was really doing it, and there you go. So, instead of an "impossible movement", it is the impossible feat of breathing through a pinched nose such that the nose pinch reality test is built into the action being imagined. Is there any reason that would be problematic?

      Just in case you didn't know, but you don't need to have a PayPal account to use PayPal, as long as you have a debit card - PayPal can take payment from non-users (just choose the option to pay without creating a PayPal account). If you have any issues just ask the chat support on the site, support can help with alternative options :)

    Hello lucid dreaming portal🤟I have this weird condition since I was 5 and it’s basically that im dreaming in black and white. Its a really weird feeling. Is there a cure for my late 30s tv colored dreams?

    • @LucidDreamPortal
      @LucidDreamPortal  Рік тому

      Hi Combine, that's very unusual but I have encountered others with the same experience (and others with "tunnel vision" dreams). Frankly, it's a bit of a mystery as to why this would occur, as there's zero literature on it and I've yet to come up with any reasonable theory for why it would happen. I know that's not the answer you're looking for, but it's the honest one. Can you think of any reasons why this might be the case? I have seen a slight overlap with this condition and those with very well developed memory skills or PTSD.

    is it also possible if you just going to sleep not only for interupping the sleep?

    • @LucidDreamPortal
      @LucidDreamPortal  Рік тому

      Not really at the start of the night. There is very little dreaming sleep until after 4 hours of sleep. If you don't want to interrupt your sleep, try napping for a little after you wake up naturally in the morning.
