@@lepenseur8242 I'm going to assume you're not familiar with how hospitals work. A patient comes in with a problem and usually the first doctor they see after triage is an ER doctor who is SUPPOSED to take a good history and PHYSICAL examination to figure out what is going on with the patient and THEN contact the relevant team (in this case OBGYN) which will take over care of the patient. The ER doctor in this case failed to perform his duties because he was uncomfortable examining a woman. Bear in mind a big enough bleed can require a blood transfusion but he wouldn't know because he didn't ask her or examine her.

True story: I'm an RN and years ago I worked on a dementia unit. We had this little old lady in her 80s that the nurse in report told me was having her period because she was bleeding 'down there' and had reported it to the doc and her husband, but hadn't heard back from either. NEVER got a pelvic exam. I did get an ultrasound where they missed the placenta that still had not finished passing out. The ER doctor pretty much told me there was no baby and I probably wasn't even pregnant when I came in. Sent me home. @@luvcherry I think what they're trying to say is it's hard for male doctors to feel like they can say the words but they have the right to say those words when women won't even allow them to actually perform procedures on those parts of the body.
It might feel pretty awkward to say the word vagina even though you've been studying them your entire life if you've never actually seen one in person for medical reasons.
Because even if those doctors do have instances where they come into contact with a vagina it's likely not going to be at work, it's more likely to be with their partner. And you can't be going around calling a vagina a p*ssy, which is language that would probably use with your partner.
It's the same reason why little kids think kissing is so gross, so I'm coming to the point where they won't even say the action. Even though I'm pretty sure they've seen their parents kiss, they seen kissing on TV, and they know it's a normal part of human behavior.
It's really hard for some male doctors to normalize a everyday bodily organ when female patients put so much of an emphasis on it. So of course it's going to feel like a naughty word to say even if it's an everyday bodily organ that 50% of the population has. Outside of a medical textbook and possibly their own sex lives, and that's assuming that they're not homosexual which just furthers the problem because that might cause a lack of experience with a vagina.
It's a forbidden thing for them to even operate on in a medical professional field since most women will not allow them to, they have absolutely zero experience with since they never grew up with one if they're cis, it's something they've ever only seen in a sexual situation (pornography, magazines, their own personal sex life, etc.), things most normal people are not going to bring up in their professional work area or in a textbook. So of course some of them might feel awkward about saying the word.

Quite a few female doctors have been declined due to a women’s health related issue as they weren’t an OB-GYN. Actual patients have come forward saying they prefer the male ob-gyn over the female ER doctor as correct speciality. There’s usually an ob-gyn available so not hard to transfer or have someone come over.

67, in some rare cases there have been women that haven't been through the change or completely finished going through it. You can start in your late 30s as well and deal with the transition for 10 plus years. I was medically thrown into it at 25, Im 35 now and still have some symptoms. My material Granny didnt start her change of life until she was in her 60s. I am greatful that I could give her menopause advice. Normally it would be the other way around. (P.s. I am also 10 years overian cancer free) That's awesome that he called to make sure she was okay but pushing her off on the other Dr. Kinda crappy. But I wouldnt want a doctor that was uncomfortable with the female reproductive system. I personally prefer male tho they are not as rough lol
