  • Ali used to live here in Texas and helped shuttle vehicles when I worked on his brother's FJ Cruiser a while ago. He wanted a new swingout combination on his Tacoma and asked me to make a ladder and tire carrier swingout. This was a neat build trying to figure out how to tie everything in to his existing steel rear bumper. I think it came together really nicely. He's since asked me to make him a snow plow for the front of his truck as he "Has way too much snow up in Wisconsin (where he's now working)".
For figuring out the angle to make the cuts in the swingers to get that bend, I forgot to record the clip that shows me doing that. Just measure the angle between the swingers location and the level (where you want the swingers to be). In my case it was 20 degrees so I just drew two 10 degree lines across the swingers and took out a 20 degree wedge. That got the bend where I wanted it.
