- In Today's video I finish reupholstering my last seat for the bmw e30! Since the video is so long I split it into two parts, this is part 2 of the videos! I had alot of fun doing this project and I hope it can help some of you out in some way!
You can buy t shirts here : ryansprojectracecar.com/
Thank you for all of the support on the channel!
If you have any questions leave them in the comments down below! Don't forget to leave a like, it helps me out a ton!
Check out www.lseat.com/ to see if they have your leather seats! They have great prices and amazing quality I could not be happier!! For reference I went with Tan leather and Tan stitching and it took about 2.5 weeks to ship and get to my house!
I hope you have an amazing day!!

the seats look incredible!!
Love the video! The covers are really clean!!
Thanks so much for the indepth guide, gives me so much confidence to do mine!
Of course! I'm glad you were able to find it helpful! They are pretty simple to do with the kit! Let me know if you have any questions
Solid job on the seats! They look great!!
Thank you so much! I just got all the last bits of it finished today!
Great job just the info i was looking for. Did you consider swapping passenger side bolster with the same driver side bolster.
I'm glad this video helped! The passenger bolster was in good condition so I just decided to keep the original
On the covers rom Lseat, how do you attach the seat backs through the three holes in the foam cushion?
The replacements dont have the long plastic tabs sewn into them.
Message me on Instagram and send me a photo on what you are talking about! My insta is @_project_racecar_
Looks sick bro great job
Hey thanks man!! I appreciate the support! It's crazy how nice they look!
@@ProjectRacecar2 i just got a truck me and my dad are going to restore
@@Tgregg07 that's awesome! What kind of truck? You'll have to see if the Lseats has your seat covers!!
@@ProjectRacecar2 1967 chevy c10
Dang, that's awesome! I'd love to restore an old C10, those things are sweet!!
Nice
Hey again! Contemplating doing this as well. How many hours did it take you? Any resources used and how hard from 1-10? Thanks!!!
Hey! I think I split this one up and took my time with it, If I remember correctly I did it in two days, probably a total of 8ish hours, it's a pretty simple job just really tedious I would put it a 4/10 with 10 being something like pulling an engine/ removing a dash/ or doing a clutch
What size hog rings did you use? I'm about to do this.
I used 3/4" hog rings to do mine and they are still holding up, I used probably 150 to do mine, they get used up quickly, so buy a decent amount👌🏻
Ive done installs, you gotta be patient and keep working the wrinkles out. Don’t cheap out on hog rings
I used a ton of of hog rings! The seats have still held up really well!! It takes a ton of patience!
good deal my guy do you know what state they ship out of ? They are the only site I would like to deal with plus I might need to send my back seat cover to them .
thanks
Yeah they have honestly been a great company, they worked out really well the seats still look great! I am very impressed with how they turned out, but they are located in sugar land Texas which is near Houston!👌🏻
@@ProjectRacecar2 dude your reply helps thank you !
@@meditative82 no problem! Good luck with the upholstery!!
How was the shipping how long did it take to get your covers?
I believe it shipped in 2 weeks, but they are all made to order, in their site it says 15- 20 business days but I remember it being pretty quick!
Hiw have the seat covers held up, looking at ordering some
Hey! The seat covers have held up really well, I do keep my car in the garage most of the time but the leather is still soft and everything has held up well!
Just ordered
@@tatersyj8490 heck yeah!! Let me know if you have any questions during the install!!
@@ProjectRacecar2thanks
Did you have any velro backing on your seat skins? I am having a hard time reaching out to them =(
Do you mean Velcro? For the back of the seat I used upholstery glue
@@ProjectRacecar2 yes velcro
@@vincewu4162 mine had a black padding on the back I cut that out and glued it to the OEM backing and had good success
@@ProjectRacecar2 thanks, not sure its the same type of backing I have on my car then. Thank you for the help. I am not having any luck Lseat calling or responding
How was their communication? I've having a challenge with their communication
Overall the communication wasn't bad, it took a couple days to get an email back but they do get back to you, I had to return an order and it took about a week and half of emails back and forth of about 10 emails, so they take a minute to get back to you
What color did you order.
On lseat.com this is the "tan" color
What color is that
On least.com it's the "tan" color option!
Tripod.... you don't have to do everything with one hand. It would have been really helpful if you had shown some of the actual upholstery work. 😅
Totally fair! I have since gotten a tripod😂 sorry the video wasn't more helpful! Thanks for the feedback🙂
@@ProjectRacecar2 Very cool. Sorry, I didn't really mean to come off as that critical. It would have been nice to see exactly what you did with the hog ring pliers. I'm considering trying to recover the seats in my E28, and have never used them.
Is it real leather?
From my understanding it's real leather that's mixed with a feux leather, that gets the feel of leather and the strength of feux, it's like how they do a 50/50 cotton/poly for your T-shirts, I personally have been really happy with the durability and feel of the seats!
@@ProjectRacecar2 I don't think you can mix leather and poly if it is both then probably some panels are leather and some panels are Polly think if it was real weather you'd know you'd smell it
@@davidphantom8163 that was just an example, I did actually look it up because I was interested, genuine leather is real leather, there are multiple layers of the hide, genuine leather is a lower layer compared to "top grain" leather, it's just a cheaper form, it is real leather though, no poly
When doing a DIY video, you're supposed to show each step of the project, not edit out critical steps. duh
Hey man, if you have questions all you have to do is ask, no where in my title or description does it say that it's a DIY video, I was just posting my experience with it
What color did you chose on lseat is it the dark or the lighter leather
On the site it's called tan
Thanks man, I’m trying to see what the colors look like on the seats. I want to buy some but I’m having a hard time finding the color I want
@@FartFace21 that's totally fair, I have always been a fan on the peanut butter it looks great, but it's completely up to how your build looks and what you want with it
Also what did you choose for the thread color
I went with the same color stitch color I think it looks much better!
