I was out in Mississauga riding on Christmas day, too. From my home near Old Mill (Toronto) to my office near the airport. I was surprised at the car traffic out there mid-afternoon. I enjoyed "riding along" with you! Happy Holidays!
You didn't miss much as the live stream was very choppy. I reuploaded a clean version. Don't know if I can do another live as the connection was very poor. The weather has been very odd lately. It's even warmer today.
Nice live stream. Looks like many others I enjoy watching. Was out Xmas day on road bike for 5 hours ,in western Ma. U.S. It was around 48 Fahrenheit . Holidays great for riding,as 80% of cars off the road because almost everything is closed.🚲🚲
I watched part of your livestream yesterday but didn’t comment since I was helping my wife with dinner prep.. I lived in Mississauga in the late 1970’s. I probably wouldn’t recognize the place today.
Thank you for letting me know, the stream itself was quite choppy. I'll try again to see if I can improve it. Mississauga has changed dramatically! There is a lot of new construction and it seems like the city is at its capacity.
@Cliff-lp8lj This video is a replay, the original was very choppy. Yes, people commented in the chat that it was choppy and when I watched the steam, once home, it was hard to watch.
Merry Christmas! The start looks like the multi-use trail I rode on yesterday. (Nine Creeks Trail?). Enjoyed watching some of your videos of your journey across Canada this year, very inspiring!
I've seen warm Christmas days before but not like this one. Do this ride again in the spring when that trail is packed full--that'll be different. And Happy New Year to you, too.
I did you finish the tour across Canada I wach Hal your video l really like them all I did the same thing from Saskatchewan didn't finish long story l will like to see the rest if you did finish thanks for your video
Oh yes. I did finish my ride. I did that ride last year - 2022. Two more videos will be going up on the channel to document the remainder of my journey.
I also live in Mississauga for 35 years. I am 70 years young riding bike for 60 years. I recently received my ebike as a gift 2 years ago for mostly 3 seasons not winter for recreational. I drive an EV for errands.
@@WheelsonaBike The ebike I have has knobby thread so it can go off road, grass, gravel trail, but noisy on asphalt street. Tire pressure set at 20 psi soft ride very comfortable with my front, and rear suspension.
That was really nice to go along on the ride with you. Didn't you previously use a non-electric bike? Or maybe I'm mixing you up with someone else. I also enjoyed the clarity of your video and audio. Do you mind sharing the setup you're using? Thanks for sharing your ride and Merry Christmas! 🌟🌲☃️🎅
Thank you for watching. Yes, I do have two other non-electric bikes and I used to use a non-electric as a commuter. I think using the ebike as my primary commuter makes things simple. I will continue touring on non-electric bikes. I used a GoPro and a Rode Wireless Go microphone for this setup. Merry Christmas to you as well!
That makes sense for long commutes! I personally will prefer lives and/or videos on your non-electric bikes but that's just me. Practically everyone has an ebike these days so it's not very special, but again just my opinion. Thanks for the setup info and all the best with working on your livestreams!
@Lisa-pj7cc Thank you for your feedback. At the end of the day I have the bikes I have. In the summer I have my Brompton and Touring bike that I won't use in the winter because they're steel. But you're right, there's nothing special about ebikes.
@samuelmjlfjell Still working on the cross Canada series, so more touring bike videos are forthcoming. I will also finish the Brompton tour videos once I'm down with the cross Canada tour. Not a touring bike, the Brompton, unfortunately.
I put a new seat called a fifty fifty city saddle. It's 194 mm wide. Works perfectly. Saddle is a personal thing. Everyone has different sit bones. I tried brooks cambium with cutout. not for me.
What a great idea. Green Christmas plus baking from momma??.... a double bonus. Green in northern BC also. i have to check out some of that gear you have going. Slick. In case you are not partnered off, GTA what is wrong with you?
I'm very lucky to get food from my mom, especially after Christmas. To be fair, my dad and I did contribute to one of the dishes. ;) GTA means Greater Toronto Area - what does GTA mean in the context of your message?
That you'd be a perfect partner ! GTA is lucky to have you. You need to be a political force in biking politics as well! I must say though you are to young for the elec bike. Much prefer you crushing it on human power. Leave the elec for the 70+'s Look forward to your 2024 production.@@WheelsonaBike
Yes, cycling advocacy is much needed and I am doing what I can to contribute locally. Regarding your comment re: I'm too young for an ebike. I disagree. The ebike is the most efficient way for me to move around and not have to worry about the weather - specifically very strong wind. I missed many cycling days last year, because I just couldn't fight the wind - no such problem this year. I will still tour on my non-electric touring bike, where speed and efficiency of getting place is not that important (to me). Different tools for different jobs.
I was was streaming from the GoPro using its Quick app. I created a mobile hotspot on my phone and connected the GoPro to the hotspot. I was streaming at 720p as 1080p is not possible with this setup, way too glitchy.
I hate my Ebike on my roads in my neighborhood..cracks everywhere..my mountain manual bike rides so much better but more work. I see those roads there are horrible too ..does your Ebike have suspension. Seems to be doing well
@@WheelsonaBike I do want to go more places on my bikes but I couldn't get rid of my car because it transports me and my bike to trails and such .was there a specific reason to get rid of car for you?
Couldn't afford the car and the mortgage. One had to go - I decided it was easier to get rid of the car, rather than getting rid of my home. I can easily rent a car if I need one.
@@WheelsonaBike that's smart because many go to living in a vehicle and I think that's so risky and rent only goes up and when they want to rent again well. I own also and now have equity so I can sell and have money if need be. Riding a bike is fun too 😃
This is definitely a better download, I don’t know how you did it. Unfortunately, my work requires a vehicle, otherwise if I were at a stationary job, then I would ride my scooter or an electric bicycle. 🛵🚲

Thanks for sharing all your cycling adventures this year. I look forward to more next year.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your perspectives in the comments. Happy 2024!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Looking forward to seeing your wonderful videos in 2024!

What a beautiful day. 52 Fahrenheit here, Rochester, NY area. When you feel like not getting out you’ll be glad you did.

Merry Christmas to you and Luna!
Thank you very much!
Awwww! We didn't know you had a dog! You'll have to bring her out for a Brompton ride this summer. :D
Yes! Luna loves bike rides. I don't bring her with me when I ride in the city. The sounds are a bit much for her.
@@WheelsonaBike Aw, yes, the noise can be a bit much. Perhaps we'll organize a nice, quiet Waterfront Trail or Humber Trail ride that's pet friendly.

Nice . Hello from Sarnia!!
You are awesome for not letting cold weather keep you indoors. Enjoy a well-earned Canadian tasty treat at Tim Horton's.
The weather is really not a problem. Thank you for watching!
I love your goggles, are they comfortable over your glasses? Where did you get them?
They are very comfortable. I got them from Amazon. They are cheap safety goggles.
It was so hot and humid today! I wish I had a different wheelset without studded tires so that I could swap them as needed.
Yes! It was humid. Very wet, with added moistness from the fog. Same, re: studded tires. Too much of a hastke to try and take them off for a few days.
lol "massive massive stop sign because people ignore it" then rolls right on through it!
Point taken. I'm not sure the sign was made this big because cyclists were rolling through it, but I did not come to a complete stop either.
Plenty of stoppage in my book
Merry Christmas from BC
