Terror, horror, fear, desperation and even annihilation are but the most gentle of concepts when considered against the actions possible. We are very creative when inspired. Death at this point should be considered the most merciful and generous beyond all expectations of what may come. Even the void, uncaring and unfeeling, would recoil aghast at the shapes flickering through my mind. Do as you will to us, the fury and inescapable rage will be as nothing compared to our reaction if so much as a hair of a friend is touched.
If aliens want mans dog I recommend we send out what is needed to keep humanity and dog to keep existing in space and then detonate planet at least but preferably our sun when the seed is out of danger so we take the enemy to hell with us.

It wasn't just a passenger liner, it also had cargo holds, and I believe we Yanks were sending military supplies to the Brits by that time. I've seen some videos about it, she might have even been fitted with a deckgun, although some people debate whether it was actually installed or not, it did have the mounting hardware for it.
The thing with those kinetic strike satellites... the tungsten "rods" were the size of telephone poles... so just imagine that hitting the ground, white hot from reentry, at about 36,000 feet per second or about 25,000 MPH. (that's around 39,500 KPH for the metrically inclined) Now do that about a dozen times for each satellite. That's absolutely gonna ruin someone's day.
