SSFR - Ladder 127 Response *Reported Structure Fire*

While hosting live fire training, SSFR was dispatched to a reported structure fire. The caller was a passerby reporting a residence to be on fire. Response view is from Ladder 127. SSFR units arrived on scene to find a couch on fire behind the reported address. Upon further investigation, it was found an occupant was conducting a controlled illegal burn. Engine 121 pulled an 1 3/4in trash line and extinguished the fire. All other units were placed back in service by Engine 121. Once the fire was extinguished, Engine 121 returned to service. Units operated on scene for approximately 15 minutes.

SSFR is a combination department in East Alabama staffed with a 24/7 paid EMS crew, and three paid firefighters Monday - Friday during business hours with volunteer firefighters completing staffing during all hours of the day and night. SSFR runs approximately 3,000 emergency calls annually.
