    Automatic Aid Structure Fire
    03/15/2024 , 22:45hrs
Friday evening, the Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched as automatic aid to the Salem Volunteer Fire Department on a reported residential structure fire with entrapment. The caller was reporting the residence, a mobile home, to be fully engulfed with someone possibly trapped inside. Beauregard Fire, Tanker 232 arrived on scene and operated as the first due engine company. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single wide mobile home with multiple additions to be well involved in fire. It was also noted that there were multiple smaller structures endangered around the residence, and the possibility of live power lines on the ground shortly after arrival on the alpha/bravo corner. A neighbor advised law enforcement personnel upon their arrival, that the residence was occupied x1 but they were unsure if the resident was home at the time of the fire. Law enforcement made contact with the occupant of the residence shortly after, and it was confirmed all residents were out of the structure uninjured. Tanker 232s crew of two personnel deployed two separate handlines to begin fire attack, and operated as a single company with limited resources and equipment for approximately 12 minutes before additional resources arrived on scene. Firefighters encountered multiple hindrances to firefighting operations on the interior, and exterior of the residence to include hoarder conditions, boarded up windows/doorways, and a partial roof collapse prior to FD arrival. Additional mutual aid companies were requested to the scene by command to assist with fire attack. Firefighters gained entry to the residence after cutting a makeshift doorway on the delta side, as well as the charlie side using a chainsaw. Firefighters continued with interior fire operations until the fire was logged under control, and overhaul was complete. No injuries were reported on scene. The origin of the fire was believed to be in the kitchen area, and cause was left undetermined. Firefighters operated on the scene for four hours before returning to service.
