    Yay!!! ^__^
I feel bad that I missed this when you first uploaded it....because I'm the one who said I'd love it if you did the Iris song. So glad you squeezed that in to what you'd already planned. That was super cool of you!
I haven't hit play yet....so I sure hope you liked the song lol. I agree with what Aurora said about Lavender & Heaven. She was on a podcast called "10 songs that made me" or something like that....and this was one of her songs.
She said the melody and arrangement and the way the bass moves in these step-wise movements....sounds very classical and musically very timeless and strong. Couldn't add anything to that. It was Aurora on that podcast that made me check out the song...and I'm glad I did. I kinda adore it now....

Iris has a lovely voice and the video was gorgeous. To me, her voice was like strands of small crystals blowing against each other in a gentle breeze.
Anna's song had a fun and playful tune. she has a really good voice also.

For some context....I always assumed L&H was a song directed at another person.
But in interviews Iris has said it's a song she wrote to herself. She was in a very dark hopeless place...and this is sort of her healthy actualized self singing to her dark and depressed self. But obviously the lyrics are open enough to encapsulate many relationship dynamics. The lyrics are heartbreakingly beautiful if you look them up, but like you...the sheer timbre and melody of the music is so captivating you almost don't even need lyrics, the sounds alone convey the sentiment.
I think the thing I love most is the subtle swelling of those descending bass motifs in the chorus....it sounds very Mozart to my ears. Also in the way this rich harmonic tapestry is built up...by layering all these intricate weaving melodies, which again is very Mozart to me. Some songs just hit you in your core....and Lavender and Heaven is definitely one of those songs for me.

For Norway Week 3 you need to add Thea Wang, Amalie Holt Kleive and Hannah Storm all of whom have supported Aurora in her recent tours ...

I am wondering if iris is both dancers in her video - the “dark” and the “light”. Her movements are so graceful, and her vocals pure and enchanting. She seems to be singing to a lover who is wresting with a lot of insecurities, and her gentle insistence that she will sing until that person joins her is beautiful.
I loved Anna’s vocals and playful lyrics. It seems to me she was saving that poor guy from a frustrating future with someone who was not compatible with his inner self. But she too lost me when she went off with the ice cream cone! 😆 Still, such a catchy, lovely song.

Great to see you explore more Norwegian artists Bob! Thanks!
Written about Iris when lavender and heaven was released: She's been one of the most talked-about Scandinavian songwriters for some time now, but after a whirlwind year iris is finally ready to show the world the first flashes of her debut album. ‘love and other disasters’ is due for release later this year and first up is the intensely involving new track ‘lavender and heaven’. She toured extensively with Aurora and released 2 EPs before this.
Anna of the North has been in the spotlight since 2017, earned a Norwegian Grammy in 2019 for best music video with 'Leaning On Myself' - ua-cam.com/video/9DIb-P8AEnA/v-deo.html - very artsy/artistic.

Scenery for the Iris video is at the Barony in Rosendal at the gate to the Hardanger region. A beautyful place with large gardens, guided tours and and cultural performances at the weekends. And an artist of the year, usually paintings. Shakespeare theatre performances.

Watching the video I thought 'That looks like Rosendal ... I'll put it in the comments.' Well worth a visit and the ferry trip from Bergen really sets the scene.
First heard Iris on Askjell's 'Sofia' with Aurora and wet cheeks ...

Next Level is to add some songs that are sung in Norwegian.
